Just saw the final preview, their design philsophy is following Prey. They're treating the entire ishimura like the talos 1 lobby, a place you can move around, back track, explore, etc. They've added hacking, power re-routing, gun-mods, etc. And it looks like they've tweaked the character interaction quite a bit too.
But go off king, yeah it's just a "graphical update".
>entire ship is now a giant metroidvania map >clearance levels >sidequests >intensity director AI
I mean I'm kind of excited I guess, I only beat the original once at launch so it's been a long time
>isaac can now backtrack through a lethal death ship while the leviathan is poisoning the air to unlock a closet he walked past >doors are arbitrarily locked behind artificial barriers even though you've got a hacker with all the captains codes >side quests were a slog in DS3 & the only story expanding that matters is Nicole >lets rip off left 4 dead 1/2 despite being unable to translate the gunplay, animations, voice acting quality, script, environment design, atmosphere, and everything else from the game were already failing to copy
>that webm
Why this shit NEVER works in games is because when it's done in movies the whole point of it is the character is in an extremely vulnerable position and something bad may actually happen but in games we all know nothing will ever happen to the player character in that situation because it wouldn't be "fair". Either fricking make it actually dangerous or figure out a less tedious and more original way to hide loading.
>Why did the remake add an alternate ending?
We already know they rewrote it so the ethnic woman is no longer a villain and the girlfriend she refers to at the start of the game is Nicole, who didn't actually kill herself, so I guess "Reunion" refers to those two ladies being reunited together while Isaac sobs in a corner alone.
>original game is perfectly playable >has good graphics for a very old game even >remake makes everything worse as seen from the trailers
why would anyone play it?
>>has good graphics for a very old game even
Stop saying this stupid shit. It doesn't look good at all. There are games that came out years before Dead Space that look way better than it.
>sup bros lets get together at my house in friday night and play halo
Sounds gay ngl. Bunch of guys sweaty and half naked lying on same bed playing games together...
It was a new studio founded by Jade Raymond of Ubisoft fame. When EA shut down Bioware Montreal, the studio behind Andromeda, they folded it into Motive. And then >...caused some cultural clashes within the studio, causing some of the studio executives to leave, followed by Raymond later that year
happened and the game they were actually making, called Gaia, was cancelled and EA got them to make a Dead Space remake instead.
>Also seems like lots of woke garbage
You mfs might as well wave the white flag, you loss, maybe if you're lucky enough a few decades from now we'll come full circle to white straight male being the default with a token thrown in here and there.
Hyped over what? You already know the story. You already know the gameplay and mechanics. You alredy know all the levels. Wtf are you wanting people to get hyped about??
It was an unnecessary remake, the original game was practically perfect and easily available. It also looks uglier than the original and changed enough shit to piss off old fans, and potential new fans are probably turned off by Callisto Protocol billing itself as the spiritual successor to Dead Space and then being a complete anal prolapse on release.
The original UI feels like it's actually diegetic and being projected in front of Isaac, whereas the remake just looks like a clean cut-out pasted at an angle on screen.
It looks like they wanted to add all these cool gameplay features to make it an interesting remake and then trip up at the most basic shit like animations, faces, visuals, etc. A step forward and a step back.

Good catch, the fact that there's no lag time in the screen adjusting itself when Isaac moves is jarring
i wish Callisto Protocol had been better. i'd like to play a new Dead Space game but the first game is literally the only one i beat. so i'm not exactly chomping at the bit to replay it.
Imagine getting hyped for a remake of a perfectly playable game
it's a remake.
probably going to pirate it and play once because i never played them
>graphical update of a game i played multiple times already
can't wait for the next big remake, remaster, reimagining etc
>graphical update
Didn't they randomize encounters and change gameplay too
i don't know but randomized encounters sounds fricking terrible
and even if they did it's still dead space witht he same map and enemies
Yeah I'll wait a few months for the reviews. Callisto protocol was a disappointment

They also added a L4D type AI director that changes map effects as well.

The PS5 trophy list isn't the same as the PS3 original. Why did the remake add an alternate ending?

Black person
Holy fricking ZOOM
I'm hyped, just not sperging about it on Ganker
>Unexpected obstruction ahead
>Shutiing down
>Welcome to the medical deck
yes I know that this is from 2
just woke up from nightmare
I was in 2023
>sup bros lets get together at my house in friday night and play halo

>why did the hype die?
I got the "bioware quality" vibe from anything i saw from this remake so far.
Also seems like lots of woke garbage being showed in.
>Also seems like lots of woke garbage being showed in
There is, and it's made by the dev team who made Mass Effect Andromeda.
>and it's made by the dev team who made Mass Effect Andromeda.
kek for real? Well that's explains it

>play the same game again!
>But with worse everything
>We used a fancy engine, though
Nah.
People are only hyped for hogwarts and zelda and starfield.
Hyped over what? You already know the story. You already know the gameplay and mechanics. You alredy know all the levels. Wtf are you wanting people to get hyped about??
I'm more of a post-release hype kinda guy.
If it sucks, hype!!!! We can make fun of it!!!
If it's fun, sick. We can enjoy it.
>Playing games day one
Enjoy your bugs, glitches and poor performance. I'll wait until the game is fixed 6 months later
I'm playing everything from EA this year on gamepass. I can definitely wait for a shitty remake.
Mainstream audience will probably buy it

Good catch, the fact that there's no lag time in the screen adjusting itself when Isaac moves is jarring
>remake of a mediocre game that doesn't even need a remake
why would anyone care?
Add multiplayer now
they are making Isaac talk on the remake
i wish Callisto Protocol had been better. i'd like to play a new Dead Space game but the first game is literally the only one i beat. so i'm not exactly chomping at the bit to replay it.
EA.
it won't flop because streamers will latched on Ganker will sit as usual
