I travel to the USA regularly and many products are relatively more expensive in dollar prices than in Reais.
Companies do this for a variety of reasons and not only Steam practices regional pricing.
Additionally, other factors like food prices are higher for a north american consumer compared to a consumer in a mostly agricultural exporting country like Brazil. Fruit prices are the easiest example.
Don't be fooled by fucking Google currency conversions, there are other rates and taxes at play that compound the final price.

In Poland they're sometimes more expensive but mostly aren't. Curiously so, average vidya prices in Poland haven't gone up for decades. Games could cost as much as a quarter of minimal monthly pay in 2000 and now people earn at least 5 times as much.
