Because I'm not a manchild taking video games outside of the home, I hacked my PSTV

      >I hacked my PSTV
Imagine paying money for homconsole that can do everything a ps3 can but worse and feel smug about it

i hacked it and still do frick all with it

i will say that i am very disappointed that i needed to install custom firmware for something as simple as disabling the screen dimming

Emulation is nice and all, but when it comes to handhelds or pre-PS1 consoles it just feels better playing on official hardware. I know the term has just become a meme here, but it genuinely feels more soulful.

Okay, but how does it run? There literal are morons here who think N64 emulation before 2019 was good.

Yes but you have to buy a chinese adapter for the cartridge slot or another kind for replacing 3g modem if you have one.

Yeah, but you need an adapter (which costs like 7 bucks)

I paid a pajeet 75 bucks for nothing and the useless fella doesn't know how to download PS1 games. Worst buyer's remorse since Wii U.

Those issues really sound like you not knowing how to follow directions to hack it yourself and not trouble shooting.

Cracking consoles really shouldnt be for normies like this that treat it like its an official product

By the time I clear my vita backlog, Vita3k will be able to run every game on it.
The portability is occasionally nice to have, but I don't really like playing on it otherwise.

I bought everything I cared about before piracy existed, and after it happened literally everything on Vita but 3 games I cared about got ported to other platforms where they look and run better so there's no reason to.

I couldn’t get my SD card to be read by the Vita and when I tried to format it it somehow only had 14gb of space (it was 256)

      256 according to?

Did you buy it on Amazon or ebay? If so double check it somewhere else, you could have gotten a fake that's actually only 16GBs.

      Anonymous

For larger memory cards you have to set the allocated unit size to...64? Either 64 or 32.
      I have a 400gb.
Also clean the connectors for your adapter and if that doesnt work, get a new one.

  16. 1 year ago

Bro, it has like maybe 2 or 3 games at best.

I'll just wait 5 years for an emulator. Nothing this console has is worth the hardware cost.

Anything of value got ported to PC or Switch.

Alright, I'll get my dusty ass vita from a closet somewhere. I heard that you just need to use the web browser now, is that true?

I remember it being fairly easy, just a bit time consuming.

The only annoying thing about modding the Vita is getting SD2Vita to work if you don't wanna deal with Sony's memory card bullshit, but that also required buying an SD2Vita. They're like $8 though.

When my VITA stopped playing any game for longer than 15 seconds, forced me to log into my PS3 to generate a code, all so I could download the official update, then I considered jailbreaking the fricking thing.

it seems very involved and difficult to pull off without extensive knowledge. im scared i might break the thing.

      https://vita.hacks.guide/
Follow this to the letter and it's easy. You only risk bricking it if you downgrade the firmware to run a permanent Enso installation, and even that's pretty rare. Modded 3 Vita's using this guide, even downgraded the firmware on 2 of 'em.

        Anonymous

i heard about using internal memory to install like 2gb of games? can i do that without bricking

          Anonymous

Yes, if you just want a small amount of games you don't need to install Enso and can just use Henkaku, the only downside to Henkaku is you have to enable it every time you boot the Vita.

Any good guide on how to use pkjg to get games from the psn store? I have it downloaded but I also see people mention some autopatcher app.

          There's two.
          https://www.cfwaifu.com/pkgj/
          https://www.cfwaifu.com/nopaystation/
Those guides are slightly outdated though and there are easier methods now. NoPayStation is the best way to get the games, you can either download them from your PC or install the pkgj file from their github, install it on your Vita, and download straight from your Vita, The games aren't cracked, so they won't launch by default since you don't own them. You can fix this by installing AutoPlugin 2 on your Vita, it's a tool that lets you select and download various patches and it'll automatically install them for you. The one you need from it to run pirated shit is NoNpDrm. Side note, Jesus frick this is the longest post I've ever made on Ganker.

I sat on one for years with the Japanese cartridges of Cyber Sleuth, Hacker's Memory, -next 0rder- and Full Body.
Recently sold it since the shitty ass Soup Tablet has all of those games in English.
