As opposed to working for gnomish boomers in an office where you sit down all day typing pointless bureaucratic nonsense in a grey building and getting 0 exercise?
Get a backup SSD full of games
Get a hacked portable console.
Kickstarter is almost never worth it.

Same here. Feels good. Fuck office jobs. Fuck boomers. Fuck trade jobs, and fuck all these greedy cunts enforcing "back to work" policies.
They all need to die.
Trade jobs are cope for people who failed in every other avenue of life. It beats working at mcdonalds I guess, but you fucked up to even end up in that position in your 30s anyways.
Mature gamers can’t give you advice because the youth have plenty of constitution to play everything under the sun , even bad games, to help them develop their taste in games for when they get wiser.
God also destroys both knowledge and wisdom (if it not coming from Him).
19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
Continuing on from my head canon to drop some wisdom now that I see so many others give theirs.
It’s really simple. Stick to action combat games with physics that also are about Creating things. The further away from creation the closer you get to only destroying. All these posters itt keep saying they ruined their life even though it was their youth they squandered, oh the fuck well, that is nothing new. No one has ever lived that didn’t.

In quake map maker, do this easy trick: create a cylinder brush (once you have made a floor and a skybox to play test in with a spawn point).
Now go in the game and make sure you can jump onto that with just a simple jump. Now make more in a half circle of them that curves to form half a circle of platformable cylinders to jump on. Make like 5 or 6 of these. Now go in the game once again and observe the neat shadows and light this structure creates in your game world just by that simple thing alone.
Now you can also put a weapon up there and create a hallway that goes to another 2nd floor section of your map, which you didn’t even have before. You can now also render and keep creating cool things with light and shadows now that you are aware of this map aesthetic, but it’s from using brushes for a practical reason that adds depth to your map, not for aesthetic only.

Go fuck your mom in Jesus Christ’s name mother fucker.
Honest, get off the treadmill. You were born long after video games died. Once upon a time video games were quick little diversions. Now they're actively designed to mind and wallet rape you. There's still some good ones like Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze, but one or two great games aren't worth the price of admission. I'd recommend you stick to one or two games you like and don't pay for hardware at all. You have an old laptop? It will probably run a few great 2D platormers, Quake, and Doom. You don't need anything else. This hobby is just a blackhole at this point. Get out.
Gaming shouldn't be the main thing you are into. Get really good at something IRL and monetize it. Surround yourself with people who have same interest/hobby which is not gaming, and use gaming as a secondary tool to bond, but not the main one. The more skilled they are the better, absorb the knowledge like a sponge.
Avoid anyone who titles himself as a gamer, or has gaming as the only thing in his life.
If you are not being paid with a sum which can cover your monthly expenses easily, do not under any circumstance involve yourself with competitive gaming. (If you read this and still haven't made money with it you should immediately forget about this "career" path.)
Get into trades since 90% of millenials are fucking retarded when it comes to fixing things, but will pay ridiculous amount of money for you doing simple shit.
Create first and foremost, then consoom.
>Avoid anyone who titles himself as a gamer, or has gaming as the only thing in his life.
Stopped reading here tbh. I'm 25 and I call myself a hardcore gamer, got a problem with that bitch?
>Get really good at something IRL and monetize it
this is such bad advice. Do not do this. Get a education and actual job and then enjoy your free time doing what you want.
>what is some gaming advice you have for zoomers?
Stop being afraid of games with a release date older than you, most people agree the golden age of gaming was early 90s to early 2000s. It would behoove you to find out why, first hand.
Learn a trade, it doesnt matter what
Eat healthy
Shower every morning
Its ok to play games but dont get hooked to competitive "e-sports"
If you even consider the idea of becoming a streamer kindly have a nice day
Don't waste your time on dogshit multiplayer games which never end, especially shitty battlepass or f2p ones.
Only take positive opinions from here. Ignore negative ones. The negative ones are too often the result of some insane shit like the developer committing wrongthink on twitter or the poster being a south american ape who is still wrapped up in console wars in 2023.
play games blind for once, (You) do not to research meta build before even downloading the game, experimentation and discovering stuff for yourself is fun
try out games outside your comfort zone once in a while
If you're having trouble understanding why a modern entry in a series is being praised, try out the games that came before it in that series. Often times modern praise is due to the game being a step-up from the last entry or a reinvention of what came before. This is an iterative hobby and "you had to be there" is just the truth sometimes.
Also, just because you don't jive with something doesn't mean there is no audience for it. STFU and play something instead of whittling away your energy on shitposting.
Finally, if you're a zoomer, just fucking have a nice day already, wtf are you even doing? lmao

>Find friends
A good life advice in general, but it's good to have a friend group or two who you can play some games with. Don't settle with people you don't like but they play the same games as you, don't stop until you find a group you enjoy being with. Maybe unironically hop around discord servers. If you have the bare minimum of social skills, you'll find a group eventually. >Get out of your comfort zone.
Try out games and genres you don't think you'd like because you never know when you will find a new niche that enraptures (You). >Don't be a graphicsfag
Just because you can count the pixels and the different colors doesn't mean that it isn't an actually good game. >Don't have a herd mentality
"Dude you play [game]? HAH! That's so shit, why don't you play [game 2] instead?!"
Stop giving a shit about this. No matter how hard it might seem, do not get enveloped in this mindset. Some randoms don't like those eroges you play? Who the fuck cares! The goal is that you enjoy yourself. If you find a niche game but others are telling you it's shit then pay them no mind. Also don't be "that" guy who shits on others for their "bad taste" in games (unless it's a joke and the others are very aware of it). >There's no need to be "competitive"
If that's what you want then go for it, but try to notice early wether it's compulsive for you or you are actually having fun while climbing a ladder. It might be a good idea to think about wether the stress you may or may not go through in ranked games is worth the effort when you could just play some game you love. >Have fun
Yup, we are all here to have fun one way or another. Are you an Immersionfag who loves RPGs? You like cars, spaceship or datingsims? Ultimately it doesn't matter. What matters is that you find those games which makes you relax and enjoy yourself.
Unrelated to OP's topic, i used chatGPT to give me music recommendations, and it works pretty well, i discovered royal blood, the black keys and tame impala.
What i did is giving him three music groups i like and my favourite song of each group.
After that i remark what i liked, what i disliked so it can generate an other list. I'm still digging the curated list it gave me so 10/10.
I don't know if the AI has any bias, but it worked better than youtube or spotify.
>I discovered three bands which are huge
Use rateyourmusic, I'd rather get taste curated from other individuals than from an algorithm. also you'd probably like Death From Above 1979.
If you're playing videogames while checking the phone, listening to a podcast or somehow watching a movie on your second screen, you're wasting your life.
I'm not asking for moderation, play zelda for 8 hours straight for all i care, what i'm asking is for you guys to enjoy every second of what you do giving the attention that it deserves. Otherwise videogames, and life in general, will become dull if you multitask.
>Stop letting them convince you that cosmetic content isn't content, chopping it away to sell as a surcharge(often a massive one).
Cosmetic content is part of the game and all of these monetization greed factories designed to convince you to buy $18 skins and giant collection events and all kinds of other shit is frustrating. Don't give me any of that "but its F2P they have to make money", these games are not designed in a way that you can say "Okay, sure I'll pay even the full price of a AAA title" and expect to get all the game's content, its purely because they know they can make more money from this bullshit no matter how exploitative it. "item malls" with exclusive content, cosmetics or otherwise, gacha / lootbox shit where you have to random to get the SSS-rank / 5 star good thing you want and there's a lot of obfuscation about building resources, etc.. and bolstered by banner events and the like for FOMO, and MOBA/Battle Royale style "collection events" where you have a limited amount of time to spend at its cheapest$100-300 to buy all the stuff from the event to unlock a SUPER ULTRA RARE ARTIFACT item (which, if its ever available outside these events, is usually a tiny 1% or less chance on every standard loot box or whatever).
Even in MMOs where there are subscriptions, this infection has taken hold with item malls for cosmetics , notably Final Fantasy XIV is particularly bad and even worse than WoW (which has fewer items overall and added at a slower rate for new shit to buy, where at least some of them were charity items. WoW also lets you get old in-game holiday items without having to pay if you wait until the holiday comes around again ). In the old days, games like EverQuest and even early WoW were "subscription means you get ALL the content including cosmetics" until you bought one-off expansion every few years.
Cosmetic content IS content; fuck them demanding a surcharge for that part of the game.
Stop thinking you're one day going to be the best at some game and your life will change. It won't, and even if you make it no one will care. Quit endless f2p multiplayer games and focus on quality single player experiences or maybe just short mmo expriences. Never get stuck in endless progression loops. If you do that you will ruin your life... I am just now self aware enough to know I ruined my own life and making some changes to make it better.
1) stay strapped
2) always stay on your toes
3) never let nobody talk shit about you
4) get on that grindset early on but dont buy expensive stupid shit, use your money to buy things that can make you more money, shit goes exponential
5) DO NOT trust the wh*te devil
6) dont do meth or crack or benzos
Stretch. Stretch every damn day. Get up, makeyour bed, 5m of stretching, go about your day. 10m more of stretching before you go to sleep. Hopefully you can find the time for some light exercise somewhere in between.
It is truly stupid how quickly your body will turn to shit if you don't stay limber and keep on top of your health. If you keep active, you won't be any of my fucking friends click-clacking around like wooden puppets, unable to do the most basic athletic activities without being an absolute wreck for a day afterwards.
>31
Gacha is shit and never worth it. The jpegs can always be found online.
Always online is something that should only exist for games that need to be online to work. If it's not multiplayer only it doesn't need to have forced online.
Your live service game will shut down eventually, go in ready that tomorrow may be that game's last day and private servers may not be a thing. That being said if it is a good game, enjoy it while you can.
Most games go on sale several times a year, there is little reason to pay full price these days.
Companies are not your friend and inevitably they will all do something to piss you off.
Follow this guy's advice. Nobody wants to die of a sitting upper leg clot at age 35.
>25+ gamers, what is some gaming advice you have for zoomers?
don't ever let your real life suffer for games because they will always be there, but your family and friends and partner won't. They will be very upset that you'd rather spend your time playing games than with them. The most true wisdom in the world is 'enjoy everything in moderation'. Don't let yourself become an addict of anything, including games. It's a great hobby but in your middle age you will get little pride from being an aging gamer, trust me.
Healthy relationships with people means you can game without guilt or shame, or loneliness.
Reaction time is a bullshit meme. Barring extreme cases bordering on actual physical disability, you never lose to another player only because you clicked the button two milliseconds later than they did. Anyone who tells you that is lying to keep you in the dark about the tactical failings that put you in that situation in the first place.
this, theres hundreds of videos teaching how to aim your mouse in fps games and none ever mention something basic like >keep the crosshair at the center of your screen at all times
there's nothing else to it, if your crosshair is in the middle and your press shoot it will hit
if you need to do some "flick shot quick scope" motion every time you aim you're doing it wrong
Buy shit that lasts. There is zero reason to be spending $50 a month on gillette razor refills when you can spend that on a Merkur Classic safety razor and a pack of Feather blades and be set for life. If something doesn't last you 10 years, it didn't last. I have jeans that are old enough to vote.
Bar soap and shampoos lasts longer than liquid and are better for the environment.
Charcoal toothpaste is a meme and will make your sink look like shit just buy the regular stuff.
Don't buy polyester gym clothes, they'll smell like a farm after an hour. 100% Cotton ONLY. A shirts exist for a reason even if they make you look like a tool.
Oh did you mean video game knowledge?
Cheat in single player games. Don't let them waste your time. No reason to farm rathelos 500 times for a plate. That's bullshit. Use macros and autoclickers in gacha games. Nobody maxed out fishing in another eden or got trust items in brave exvius legitimately and they know it.
Play indie games. They're simply better designed than AAA stuff now, because they don't exist just to waste your time and money.
>Goddamnit Riddler, the answer is garden gnomes, ever since you started browsing 4chan, the answer to all your riddles have been garden gnomes, I've already disarmed the bombs
Before starting a porn game, always go to the audio options and turn everything off. If there is no audio options, right click the speaker icon on your task bar, open the sound mixer, mute the game.
I'm so fucking sick and tired of stock porn sounds and generic RPGmaker music.
It's always better to start a game in borderless windowed (and set the window size to your entire monitor) than in actual full-screen mode. Makes alt-tabbing a breeze instead of it crashing the game 3 out of 4 times.

DLC is a scam. Microtransactions are a scam. Paid skins are a scam. These things didn't used to be in video games and we were better for it. You're always better off buying the complete edition of a game on sale.

Yup, we are all here to have fun one way or another. Are you an Immersionfag who loves RPGs? You like cars, spaceship or datingsims? Ultimately it doesn't matter. What matters is that you find those games which makes you relax and enjoy yourself.

Such as?
Unrelated to OP's topic, i used chatGPT to give me music recommendations, and it works pretty well, i discovered royal blood, the black keys and tame impala.
What i did is giving him three music groups i like and my favourite song of each group.
After that i remark what i liked, what i disliked so it can generate an other list. I'm still digging the curated list it gave me so 10/10.
I don't know if the AI has any bias, but it worked better than youtube or spotify.
>I discovered three bands which are huge
Use rateyourmusic, I'd rather get taste curated from other individuals than from an algorithm. also you'd probably like Death From Above 1979.
not that band, super overrated
>t.
>if you don't llike overrated dadrock you must be zoomer

If you're playing videogames while checking the phone, listening to a podcast or somehow watching a movie on your second screen, you're wasting your life.
I'm not asking for moderation, play zelda for 8 hours straight for all i care, what i'm asking is for you guys to enjoy every second of what you do giving the attention that it deserves. Otherwise videogames, and life in general, will become dull if you multitask.
why would I give any useful life advice to zoomies? I want you gays to become zog slaves, that's what you morons deserve.
Oh yeah I'm gnomish btw forgot to mention
Late 30s anon here.
33 turning 34.
>White devil
What's that?
me
Spend your money on things. Money comes and goes, have fun and go experience things while you're young
how many anons saying learn a trade ITT have learned a trade?
>25+ gamers, what is some gaming advice you have for zoomers?
don't ever let your real life suffer for games because they will always be there, but your family and friends and partner won't. They will be very upset that you'd rather spend your time playing games than with them. The most true wisdom in the world is 'enjoy everything in moderation'. Don't let yourself become an addict of anything, including games. It's a great hobby but in your middle age you will get little pride from being an aging gamer, trust me.
Healthy relationships with people means you can game without guilt or shame, or loneliness.
dont buy/support shitty games.
that is all
In other words, buy Tears of the Kingdom.
like....?
Specifically companies that try to milk the most out of games while delivering as little as possible. Blizzard, Ubisoft, EA, etc. Also Gacha games
Everything GameFreak has shat out in the past decade or so.
>'Pokemon games are bad' meme
I am almost 25
been waiting for so long bros I am tempted to boot the game right now god
Marry and reproduce
Don't change your smoke alarm batteries. I hope that shack burns down with you inside.
Reaction time is a bullshit meme. Barring extreme cases bordering on actual physical disability, you never lose to another player only because you clicked the button two milliseconds later than they did. Anyone who tells you that is lying to keep you in the dark about the tactical failings that put you in that situation in the first place.
this, theres hundreds of videos teaching how to aim your mouse in fps games and none ever mention something basic like
>keep the crosshair at the center of your screen at all times
there's nothing else to it, if your crosshair is in the middle and your press shoot it will hit
if you need to do some "flick shot quick scope" motion every time you aim you're doing it wrong
Play ladder games because they are of better quality if the game offers you the chance.
What are ladder games? Is this a riddle?
>Goddamnit Riddler, the answer is garden gnomes, ever since you started browsing 4chan, the answer to all your riddles have been garden gnomes, I've already disarmed the bombs
emulate
Before starting a porn game, always go to the audio options and turn everything off. If there is no audio options, right click the speaker icon on your task bar, open the sound mixer, mute the game.
I'm so fucking sick and tired of stock porn sounds and generic RPGmaker music.
You are the zoomer.
It's always better to start a game in borderless windowed (and set the window size to your entire monitor) than in actual full-screen mode. Makes alt-tabbing a breeze instead of it crashing the game 3 out of 4 times.
>what is some gaming advice you have for zoomers
Stop wearing that stupid broccoli haircut, it looks like you're wearing grandma's wig on top of a shaved head but the wig is too small and only fits on the crown of your head

You can directly paste an Internet image's URL in the File name: window when selecting a picture to post that picture to Ganker.
Using GankerX makes it even simpler, just click the link icon on the file tab of your comment window and paste the URL.

Play Skyrim, it will cure you of Fortnite. 30+ year olds are too far gone and will only respond to this by screeching about Morrowind, but you (a zoomer) will not understand the appeal of Morrowind if you're coming from overwatch and cod #29. Also the Morrowind screechers got filtered by Skyrim instead of being able to enjoy both.
Play Skyrim.
To reduce your Ganker consumption the best way is to never enter a second time a thread you already went in. People have this tendency to repeat the exact same threads every two days, think about how ridiculous it is and try to not be as embarassing as them, arguing more than once on a topic that will reset in a few hours.
DLC is a scam. Microtransactions are a scam. Paid skins are a scam. These things didn't used to be in video games and we were better for it. You're always better off buying the complete edition of a game on sale.
Never let a woman see you cry if you want her to continue to respect you.
Don't waste your youth. Spend less time gaming and more time actually doing things that will leave a footprint in your life.
