Trying out the freebie version of Weird West. It's okay, although I'm not super into the occult/horror genre so I probably won't be interested in playing past the free Bounty Hunter storyline.
Also playing The Lone Ranger for NES. It's surprisingly good; I recommend it.
Then I'm also starting to play through Fire Emblem Thracia 776. It's the only pre-Awakening game I haven't played yet.

      >how are you finding motivation to play games in a life increasingly full of responsibilities and health issues?
I make time for it pretty easily, despite working, having a kid, a house, and other stuff. Honestly shitposting on here is the thing I should do less of so I can work out more again. I've always been skinny, but I'm developing a little belly now.

      >how are you finding motivation to play games in a life increasingly full of responsibilities and health issues?
Videogames are an escape and way to relax as they always have been. I'm not generally a depressed person, so I don't lack the will to play videogames. Sometimes I feel a little listless with the games I'm playing, and that usually means I need to find something else to play that will spark my interest, or I'm feeling stir crazy and need to find something other than vidya to occupy my time. As for health issues... Unless you were dealt a bad hand with your genetics, the health issues only really become a thing if you don't take care of yourself. Eat healthy, exercise, and move around regularly, and you should feel fine.

That said, what I struggle with the most these days is loneliness. I miss when most of the people on the internet were in my age group and it was easy to make friends with common interests who were in the same stage of life as me. I also no longer go to school or am part of a large community/pool of people where I can easily make friends IRL. The friends I did keep from those days either inevitably drifted away due to lifestyle/ideology changes, or our schedules don't work out because they're busy with their own career, making a family, etc. I spend a lot of time wondering if this is truly how humanity is supposed to live, having a bright and social life in the beginning, and then just petering out over the course of many years until likely dying alone.

I'm engaged, but we both think having kids is an impractical idea given the state of society and how our finances are. Buying a reasonably sized home with a white picket fence to raise kids in is a true boomer fantasy and not something very attainable for my age group in my area, let alone having to worry about the wayward culture and circumstances the kids will have to grow up in.

I haven't exercised in over 30 years. I'm afraid that if I start doing it now, I'll get a heart attack or break a bone or something. It'll be a shock to my body.

Cringe cope. Not him, but I started working out last year at 33. I feel better than ever and I weigh less than I did in high school and I also get to help my aging mommy move large rocks in her garden.

Did you do start doing it little by little? I'm not a richgay so I can't afford a trainer or whatever, so I'll have to be the one who paces myself.
I guess I'm also afraid of exercising incorrectly since that can also backfire and lead into more problems down the line.

Takes less than a grand all in. You just need a barbell, bench, rack, and weights. Obviously start slow, yeah. But any damage from incorrect exercising is way, way, way better than damage from being overweight and sedentary your entire life.

          exercise is a meme
          dieting is all you need
and yes, exercise damages your body over time, any repetitive motion does, and its never worth it. the amount of exercise you need to do to make up for eating a single candy bar is like an hour for 2 minutes of eating something

just dont eat so much, and if you want to "Sculpt" your body in some way, do it with time and energy efficient means, dont sit there going to the gym every day, its probably the biggest waste of time bigger than video games or movies, because they give you enjoyment, and exercising is just a tedious chore

I feel you. I miss college. Coming back from class to the dorm and seeing open doors, you could just hang out with whoever, check out the common area and play vidya or watch a movie or whatever. I didn't take it for granted per se, I knew it was better than adult life, but damn.
Meanwhile in adulthood it takes so much effort to set anything up, and you're always tired after work, it's so hard to just chill. Even if you set something up it's a whole "event" and there's like months in between. There's no social default to fall back on and lots of the alternate channels to meet people are fricked up now.

Eve Online, recently got back in because the community is real. I'm glad I did, its a much better game than when I left it ~5 years ago and since a lot of stuff in the game is well organized it's easy to schedule my time for it. Other than that there's an old server community for CS:S still going strong that I hop on from time to time. Else, I'm mostly playing games from the last decade I never got into because I either didn't have the time or a good enough PC to run them, and enjoying the rise of the indie scene. It's just as well because I don't think there's been a single AAA publisher game I've been interested in for 4 years or so, not sure if Hi-Fi Rush counts as AAA.

I'm actually going through a fairly amicable divorce right now, lol. Married 6 years. Things change, people change (or don't), some family stuff happened and we realize it's not working out. There's a couple of key issues that we simply can't reconcile, she wants to move to another country and figure out a life there and I really don't, for example. It fricking sucks but I'd rather go through this now than when we're in our 40's and still struggling to truly be satisfied with our lives.

I played Jade Empire mostly for historical purposes (Bioware history that is since I like their games) and for the most part it was forgettable, however Sir Roderick is one of the 2 or 3 things I remember about it. John Cleese nailed it + a really funny concept for a sidequest.

My yearly replay of Half-Life. Its the first time I've played since Valve did that huge update for it and I'm finding it a little strange. The FOV is now huge for some reason and I swear they've made headshots devastating because I'm killing things super quickly now. Just got past We've Got Hostiles and it's where the game goes from good to fantastic. The Black Mesa remake will always be inferior to the original game thanks to how much fun the HECU are to fight.

Why does everyone have so much trouble finding time for games? It's your hobby, right? My dad had five kids, his dad had eight, they both found time to go hunting and fishing every weekend. I never liked that stuff, I'll camp every now and then but that's as outside as I like to get in my free time, and that's more for my two kids than it is for me. I still find time to play video games every weekend, you don't have to spend hours every single day doing something for it to be a hobby. I work four tens, parks maintenance worker, I'm dead tired after work most days in the busy season, which has started (today alone, I repaired three ruptured water mains in three different parks around my city, and that was just half of my day) and Ill still play a game tonight. Most likely some old faithful like Skyrim because most games today are homosexual garbage.

I regret not spending my 20s more productively though. My mental illness led me down the usual path of drug abuse and gooning so that whole decade is more or less a blank with a bunch of vivid and really fricked up images sticking out meaninglessly in parts. It's really hard to turn 30 and notice you do have a love and something resembling a passion, but your cowardice and previous choices now make it all the much harder to start down the road. Like it's too late and you should just have a nice day.

I just do what I can. I will die on day. You will die one day. Just how it is. I have an older online buddy who I play FO76 with and he just had back surgery. Shit sucks but what are you going to do?

To think four years ago I was almost a married man but shit happens so now I play Yakuza games. Cherish your youth young anons. Life comes at you fast.

It’s easy to find time to play certain kinds of games. I don’t play RPG choose your own adventure slop alone because I already read all day at work.

    Fire emblem romhacks.
    >Bonus question: how are you finding motivation to play games in a life increasingly full of responsibilities and health issues?
this term gets thrown around a lot now but im a genuine, real hikikomori.
I tried to kill myself when i was 25 and ever since then i quit my job, moved back home and have spent more than the last decade in mostly isolation.
i only talk to people on the computer, i go months without going outside and i can't stand to look my parents in the eye out of shame, eventually i will work up enough courage to successfully kill myself.

guess anon was gonna say something like just go outside and get a job bro but that doesn't really solve how miserable life is as a member of a social species that's fundamentally broken in most social aspects and does not fit in with its environment or happens to be unable to change

It's not luck it's karma your life could be shit because your parents are getting bad karma for being evil.

most chads are the way they are because their parents are evil human beings

genuinely depends on the person but if you have a bad trip you'll have a nice day in your delusions and if you have a good one you'll begin thinking everything has some mystical purpose and you'll experience a slow descent into mythical mania which is no better than offing yourself and ending it early

        >a slow descent into mythical mania which is no better than offing yourself and ending it early
that logic is moronic. of course, a different thing doesn't have to be acid. could be even reading a different book. but in your case it's better to end it early.

Don't have enough time or too tired from work to play Vidya. I just boot up deep rock galactic and play with some randoms for ab hour or so and go to sleep. Picked up cycling and that's what has been eating up my weekends.

35 year old anon here, been mostly browsing V since 06 very rarely posting. I have a pretty chill job and a lot of time on my hands to play games. I have a gf and possibly a side piece soon but no kids and no true major responsibility.

Maybe it's because I grew up playing games that could be beaten in a day or weekend, but it takes me forever to finish most games these days and I bounce around like crazy, depending on whatever mood I'm in.

(I don't think it's normal to have health issues at 30, Anon... After getting covid I did get shingles despite being under 40, and my neck and shoulders are always super tense where it often gives me headaches though... I think that's from my shitty lifestyle and because I sleep dumb though)

In the last week - FFXIV, Factorio, Helldivers 2, Dragon's Dogma 2, Minecraft, and
And then working through my backlog gradually. Recently played Ad Infernum and Northern Journey. About to start Blood West and maybe Rain World.
    >Bonus question: how are you finding motivation to play games in a life increasingly full of responsibilities
Spending minimal time on things that are neither productive nor fun. Eliminating mindless browsing, doing OMAD, and sleeping extremely well for just 5-6 hours most nights helps. I get 4 hours minimum most weekdays to play vidya and more on the weekend.
    >and health issues?
