Its already aged poorly and will continue to as the graphics become outdated

Same, tried to play a second playthrough just couldn't care enough to even finish.
Hard disagree, while I won't say anything tops the first playthrough it absolutely has replayability even if it's just to see the little misable things or some side shit you skipped over.
I often play the game as it was presumably intended and just go be a mountain man who hunts and fishes while occasionally riding into town to sell skins and buy up supplies before going back out and camping for the night.
It's a very fun game and nothing else quite comes close to the absolute relaxation I can achieve in RDR2.
It has bad playability, I don’t know how anyone actually played this shit and enjoyed it beyond it being a form of virtual tourism. The gameplay sincerely sucks fucking dick, it’s a gruesome fucking slog to play.
Sorry it's not some hyper zoomer fast paced speedrun game, it's a game about sitting back and taking a chill pill while you cook up some rabbit you just shot. This game is also like it's predecessors a love letter to western films in much of the same way GTA is a love letter to various crime dramas. If you are a big western guy there's references to just about every single big movie from all the eras in these games.
okay but Red Dead Redemption is a better game

Based. Enjoy it, anon. Don't rush, as dumb as it sounds don't treat it like a normal video game, treat it like an experience, like a cowboy simulator. Also, try and immerse yourself in the story, it'll enhance the experience and make otherwise monotonous missions feel like they have weight and meaning.
I don't blame people that don't love this game, but I think if you go in with the right mindset it's something truly special.

interesting they added this mechanic and the reticle bloom (which is the bigger nerf to the player) yet undermine it by making arthur and unstoppable damage sponge
for a game that strives to be grounded, this was a strange choice, as (i might be misremembering) john in the first game could die very quickly, but was fast and accurate with his guns
Arthur dies super easily if you're not constantly eating and drinking tonic to replenish the stupid health core
theres so much food in the game its hard to not keep your cores full, plus he can carry a grocery stores worth of food in his bag
even then, i dont remember dying super fast unless im on fire and being shot simultaneously

Shitiest game I've ever played. And I'm almost 40yo. I uninstalled this shit after playing roughly 50% of it.
You know what, if you want to tell a story so badly, go for the cinematic experience Naughty Dog's formula. Not my thing, but I would understand the choice of sacrifying freedom over the overall pacing. RDR2 just felt like developpers didn't want to let you play at all.

You're not wrong however it has one thing modern games severely lacked and that was SOUL and Passion, those 2 things alone saved Kingdom Come and made it a fun, charming experience even with all of it's flaws, much like Two Worlds.
The industry is moving backwards instead of forward. Very sad. Only Rockstar can deliver epic experiences that will be remembered a hundred years from now
People say it's good, so I say it's bad, because that makes me cool.
You can mock rdr2 however you want, like how the gameplay is dull or whatever but no game has done exploration this good, no game.

The game (unironically) feels alive, I was riding on my horse exploring and I found marking on a stone that eventually led me to a serial killer hideout.
no mission objectives, no map icons and no climbing towers bullshit
It's kinda unfair to compare ER to RDR2 in the immersion department considering that ER is a ARPG that focus on killing everything.
Shit like Witcher 3 and Kingdom come should be more comparable.
I think the best compliment I can give the world of RDR2 is that I think it's the only game in existence where "going on a walk" is entertaining because the world of it is just that beautifully rendered and realized.

I feel like there is nothing really of great interest to find in the world apart from a couple of things (panoramic map, statue puzzle)
Sure the game looks good, and there is some nice landscapes and environment but that gets boring quite quick
The most fun part of the game is the gunslinger aspect, and even that needs mods to feel good
Story is somewhat decent, apart from some of the quests
I wish they would have focused more on the gunslinging aspect of the game (the actual gameplay, it is a GAME after all not a fucking movie)
So much potential for bounty hunting, assulting gang hideouts, gangs disuptes in the world etc
