Chuck is better than Frank solely because he has more reason to stay and finish the quest. His reputation is at steak and he would be labeled a terrorist if he was to fail. Frank was just there to get an epic scoop for whoever hired him.
Also Chuck's voice is better for delivering 1-liners.
as a Chuckgay im not ashamed to admit that Frank is better but DR1 elitists always act like he is leagues better. if Chuck is a 6/10 character then Frank is like a 7.3/10
On one hand DR2's companion AI is really improved and makes rescuing alot more fun.
On the otherhand the crafting table gimmick was a little too overbearing and made uncrafted weapons feel like a waste of time.

Eh I feel like it at least encouraged the breath of experimentation and creativity that the first one wanted to try. You'd try mixing all kinds of random junk and testing out what you'd get whether it's simple and straightforward like "bat+nails" or 'boxing gloves+knife" or wackier shit like "gems+leaf blower"
With DR1 you'd get baseballs and other cudgels but by the time you've spent a few hours with the game it's a mad dash to just pile up on the chainsaw from the clown boss and tank through everything with a pocketful of mimosas.
Based and reasonablepilled
DR1 is only good when you already played 2. 1 does not stand on its own unless you reeeeally like the slow, boring-ass gameplay with awful AI and nonsensical leveling system. There is just so much shit that the game isn't telling you.
So anyway about Aniki -- wait a second, are you even listening? Katey... You ever stare down death, Katey? You ever wonder if you'd hear the shot that takes your life?
Haha I'm just being a kidder, we just care a lot about you. Keep it up sport!
I have to admit that Chuck made me realize that I like the male form more than I previously thouht. Seriously, there are so many good-looking men in the game.
i dont believe this gentleman has covered wars before
Protagonist so boring that just replacing him with frank made the game a lot better.
frick you, Chuck was a good protagonist and an even better father
>Better father than a guy with no kids
I guess.
>a guy with no kids
Chuck was a genuinely good father, not even memeing
The problem is that it's all there is to him.
I liked Frank more too but lets not pretend he had much of a personality either.
That’s all the man needs, leave him alone.
They're both equally solid. Frank has always been a bit overrated.
t. slow
...
>tfw demon speeding
This unironically made me really sad

*at stake
sorry im too hungry
frank starts off like that but by the end he becomes less of an anti-hero iirc
Frank>chuck>nick>>>>nu frank

imagine smelling his armpits haha
>his name is chuck and he likes to ....
oh right i wamned to watch kill bill. thanks for the reminder.
Run a seed and feed store. He might be selling it soon
Chuck was fine, I think capcom really fricked up obsessing with Frank after a little fan angst over altering protagonists.
>Dead Rising 2 is the ONLY good Dead Rising game.
Yeah, I said it. 1 is jank garbage that should be considered a mere prototype for 2
>muh jank
such as, you baby?

I just remembered the annoying otis phonecalls in DR1, thats just another thing 2 does better.

Yea I think thats a fair point. In DR2 is knife gloves but DR1's mini chainsaws with durability books is super easy mode

Last Dead Rising playthrough was more than 3 years ago...
Well Ganker, is it time for another go?
