I am puzzled why in general Tank potencies seem to have risen. Tank already is by far and wide the easiest class to play and somehow they need to become even stronger...?
They mentioned this during the live letter, but DRK is so grossly overpowered that they needed to buff everyone else to get up to its level (GNB less so).
Why are they more occupied by the damage performance of tanks than making the role actually be interesting to play? Are they so afraid of the game lacking tank players?
Because interesting tanking requires the encounters to be made more interesting; it's not an issue with the skills that tanks have. Look at old EX trials vs. what we have now, where you actually have to position the boss and it has cleaves that you need to avoid pointing at the party.
And don't say old aggro management, because that was more of a stupid chore that could be trivialized by bringing a NIN.

Since enmity is a non factor any more, having to turn the boss is a stupid chore and that trivialized automatically.

If tanks are all behind another then you end up with a situation where groups can just bring two DRK because the damage gain outweighs the loss of LB. Alienating three jobs because they do a % less is ass in a game where there isn't anything else that you do.
It's because Dark Knight is the strongest tank due to its high damage burst and other tanks were switching to drk and gnb for more damage at the start of savage tiers
The fact that tanks get measured by their damage and not their survivability is tragic. But what am I expecting from a combat system where the hardest fight can be cleared with the healer role missing.

Survivability matters a lot in groups that don't clear week 1 which is most of them. Week 1 shit is just super sweaty
they are measured by their survivability though. the thing is when you meet the requirement to survive then what's left is doing damage, not surviving even more. it's called effective health and XIV used to have a concept of this back when you could wear STR accessories. you could argue it still has some form of it since you use DPS materia instead of loading TEN but it's also SE's fault for making the TEN option so mediocre.

Statics are only good for ultimates
just do PF to get your clears. you'll clear much sooner than 8 weeks. it doesn't sound like you want to push content and week 1 clear so you really just don't need a static at all. if you REALLY want a static though to avoid PF headaches then I think you'll have to do some proactive hunting for the specifics you're looking for. 3 days a week for 2-3 hours is what most midcore statics do and it's a very small commitment and you should clear within a month if people always show up.

That was my casual static but it took long due to one stupid retard who I vouched for saying he has wow raiding experience(worst player i ever met and i hate him irl) and the other half never watching a guide ahead of time.
We did it blind at first but the half that grasped things quickly (all the melees) had to slow down since all the ranged are retarded and loved killing everyone with spreads.
The dps was so fucked that they felt the need to frontload the chest and weapon onto me and the other top dps to carry the wow shitter. It was a ton of pressure since I normally like to take it at my own pace without potting and shit.
The shiter half wanted to do parse runs after we cleared and i noped it since prog run was already hell and I didnt give a shit about parse runs.

Reminder that the Prime Weapons are REQUIRED to progress in TVR. And that means if you're playing the game for the first time, you got a shit ton of grinding to do past level 99 just to even start the Prime weapon.
They've already confirmed you don't need anything beyond a stage 2 Prime weapon, which you can get in 2-3 Sortie runs solo (and is what you already need to clear the missions released thus far).
John Finalfantasy getting to 99 and then trying to do Sortie is nigh impossible. You need so many gifts from grinding post-99 to even be able to wear proper gear for Sortie.
Not saying that it's a bad thing, just saying they have a legit problem for newbies to get from 99 to where they need to be to finish the story.

No. The reason being that "Jump" is just the animation for a ranged ogcd, you dont leave your position anymore.
Now the only skill that do so is Assassinate, and NIN lose that skill anyway.

I assume so since the reason you couldn't was because your character location followed the path of jump, it's the reason you could get hit by AoEs if you jumped at the wrong time too

Jump is the DPS ability that hits the enemy and places you back where you started. You can't use that to cross any gaps since your character doesn't move anywhere. The patch does not change the functionality of Elusive Jump, aka the backflip, in any way.
If there was a hole between you and the target and you jumped you would also fall off
Do you mean you can use the ability "Jump" across voids? People want Elusive Jump for that, but I don't think that will ever happen

Yesterday, saw some guys farming Fates on the moon and I was doing it solo. I got to talking to them and they invited me to join their party and we talked a lot while Fate farming on the moon then an S rank came up and they invited me to go with them, added me to their friends list. Felt pretty good and all because I saw them out in the World not on any party finder or duty list.

Dragoon is strong in Frontlines but only because it has help (DRK), Ninja is literally unkillable and gets free kills if anyone drops below 50% for a nanosecond. The real laughable thing is they nerfed WAR the same amount as DRK, WAR is good but DRK is literally 4 leagues ahead of every other job combined.

I mean, BRD still has good burst when you dump all your resources into someone. I wish the buff aspect was more involved, though, and not just shoehorned into Apex Arrow and your LB. If AST can get card buffs on a dedicated button, why can't BRD?
In 3s, you could burst arrow -> nocturne + empyreal weave -> pitch perfect just before the silence wore off and they could heal. In 2s, you'd have to shave off either blast or pitch perfect from the silenced damage, which is around 10k, plus the small amount of damage from nocturne they cut as well. Getting picks will be just that much harder now, and the trade-off of being so squishy in exchange for high burst is getting less worth it when melees have metric fucktons of survivability.
