the first one was a fun little tech demo with cute easter eggs that came with the console. I can't see people willing to pay for a full priced version of that.

The PSVR game is really good and feels like a full game despite its appearances, I'm sure this one will justify its price tag. The Playroom tech demo is cute but you could tell it was a free bundle.

Astro bot is literally one great homage to all games that have graced PlayStation over the years.
So if you don't like the references consider that maybe its just a you problem.

I loved Astro's Playroom and this is exactly the sort of game that I love, we need more 3D platformers.

      >playstation already a rave for cute and platformers
      >this is PS5 exclusive
      >the demo that could more people care about it is also ps5 exclusive so even if it goes to pc later no one will care
Honestly why even make it at this point?

        Anonymous

Because the team is great at making these games and it already has a pretty loyal following due to the VR demo for PSVR1, the full VR game called Astro Bot Rescue Mission, and lastly the PS5 tech demo.
Its a game that has flown under the radar of people who hasn't cared to PlayStation that much recently which is also why people complain that PlayStation isn't delivering this type of game enough. Ironic as it is.

People are dying for good games, literally crawling in the desert in search of water tier. They'll use the genuinely fun astro tech demo as a bait and switch to get you to buy a full priced game with zero passion and politics injected in.

Astro was created by a french, the one that is the head of the studio now and killed Japan Studio to be a Astro studio only. Majority of their staff now are westerns. stop being a moronic frog.

Not many games that are comparable to it. The closest one is Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and that sold just slightly under 4 million by June 2023 from the leaks. So that's about 2 million for each year since release.

        What is Mario

I guess Anon meant on PS5. As in, "do people who own PS5 play platformers or non-movie/capeshit games? Only that kind of game on PS5 was R&C:RA which sold x-amount, so it is the only thing we can compare to see if Sony's fanbase likes this kind of games".
I am not sure if Sony fans buy Mario games, as PS5 is greatly lacking them. For that we would have to make a questionnare for people who own both PS5 and Switch to see how big the overlap is and what kind of games they buy.

      Dualsense works on PC

It's don't, the full features of the controller like the resistive motor in the triggers don't work.

          Anonymous

That might be a issue with your own PC than anything. I had to format my PC and when I used Sense again I noticed it wasn't working properly before. Example Forbidden West, adaptive triggers were working just fine whenever I was pressing R2 I felt the vibration, but haptics weren't working at all. After format both of them works just fine, never noticed the little vibrations when aloy jumps or glides or whenever she's going through a bush before but now I feel them. Just remove all the controller related softwares from your PC and plug it in again. It also might need a software update.
          https://controller.dl.playstation.net/controller/lang/en/fwupdater.html
Or you enabled Steam input which might prevent it too.

It works fine, it requires the game devs to implement it. Only limitation is it needs to be connected via USB.
Adaptive triggers work in Death Stranding Director's Cut for instance.

So if Sony ported Astro to PC, the game would require a Dualsense? People with Xbox controllers or no controllers at all wouldn't be able to play. Seems unlikely.

It'll stay a PS5 exclusive just because of the logistics of getting it on PC.

          Anonymous

Nah, if they port it to PC Dualsense features would only work with Dualsense. Xbox controllers would get regular vibrations and KBM would get none.

What does dualsense even do? I mean why do you need more than the joystick and buttons? Is it just a gimmick?
