The worst part of giving Isaac a voice is that now that he has one, he doesn't talk ENOUGH. Dead Space 2 Isaac isn't really phased by much because that homie has been through some SHIT by the time of DS2.
But remake Isaac gives him the same general stoicism that he absolutely shouldn't have. Whether its the Kellion crashing, the first Slasher ambush, or wading through corpses and scavenging gear from severed limbs; he's either overly calm or just has nothing to say. I'm not saying he needs to be some Marvel bullshit ten quips a minute or to constantly be talking to himself, but YOU made the choice to make him not a silent protagonist anymore, which means I'm no longer projecting my reactions into his characterization; which means you need to write him to fricking react to shit like a goddamned human being would.
>Cross is still alive all the way to the and you need to see her in order to see Nicole >but Kyne and Kendra can see people that aren't there
Cross and Temple are by far the most pointless, moronic fricking change in the entire story and Jo Berry needs to just find a new fricking career. She's dog shit.

>he doesn't talk ENOUGH
That's what happens when you try to appease 2 audiences at the same time. He didnt talk in the original because the devs were going for immersion and isolation. Chatting a lot obviously detracts for that. In DS2 he talks a decent amount.
They tried to go for a middle ground but the remake is obviously way more cinematic/action than the original so they might as well just commit to the DS2 route.

The Dead Space 2ification of the original game is the main fricking problem with this remake. Not everything they did in 2 was an improvement and not everything that was an improvement fits into Dead Space 1. But they didn't care.
>1080p >26fps
no wonder you don't like it. fricking lol, the 2008 original on my PC looks better than the new one it on your PC
Some of us come from a time where we were willing to sacrifice a few frames per second in exchange for the best possible visuals our hardware can put out instead of autistically losing our minds if the game isn't running 120fps in 16K. I made no references to the game's performance in my complaints about it, nor will I.

I hated this one, their original death scene is kino. And the whole hallucination thing kind of clashes with the lore imo. Marker shows you dead people where there are none, but faceswapping them and manipulating 2 people at the same time like that? Seems a bit bullshit to me.
Also, Cross and Temple are literal half-black mutts now.

And thats actually another area where the game is very fricking tame. Where are the fricking hallucinations?
I was hoping that the remake would actually add more of those, but no, they even removed several (the best one was when Nicoles face flashes on monitors all around the ship and becomes a skull for a second).
They really downplay the dementia aspect until the last 3 levels. And even then >creepy whispering barely there >the unitologist cult changing that was audible when being near the marker in the original - gone
I dont know how, but as a horror game this is somehow less scary than the original.

this is a iteration that forces your face into woke pseudo problems every chance it gets. Of course it lacks any sense of subtlety. All they had to do plot wise was to take the original characters and key moments, recreate them in the new engine and maybe have a few liberties here and there with weaker moments of the original like the roid gun turret section.

You have so many people that aren’t smart enough to understand subtlety in anything. I felt the same way with Prometheus years ago. It has its flaws but it made the mistake of assuming the audience had an IQ above 95. All of these late GenX to mid millennials cannot understand any story telling that isn’t spoon fed. Some zoomers and late millennials seem to do better at least in my experience. Same thing with the Star Wars Prequels. Maybe I’m just moronic but it seems like zoomers at least have the ability to sense some depth in story telling, every kid a few years younger than me in school was obsessed with FNAF, which has complexity and subtlety, in that the entire story was told through convoluted minor detail changes in static 2D environments and whether a character has a bow tie or not. then you have these young GenXers and some millennials that posses less understanding than a chat bot

>Issac went to the ishimura knowing Nicole was dead.
Huh? I thought the CEC redacted the end of the video and then Kendra was giving him the full version at the end. Isaac clearly doesn't act like a guy that knows his girlfriend is dead at the start, before he could even be affected by the Marker.
Anonymous
The OG keeps certain details knowingly vague that I can’t tell if Isaac actually got the full message or only a part of it. The opening scene Kendra mentions he keep replaying the message but it’s only the first portion of the message we’re shown to hide the twist at the end. Likewise it’s not entirely clear that Dr Kyne killed the Captain or it was an accident as the video log cuts out before the captains death. The remake removes the curtain and shows that yes, the captain unintentionally killed himself. As well as oddly removing the importance of the Nicole death with a long winded speech unrelated to how much she misses Isaac, which comes AFTER her little speech. Still won’t show the suicide fully, as the needle is injected just off the screen to the bottom.
Anonymous
I don't really consider the movie canon as it takes some massive liberties with the lore of the games, but I was always pretty sure Kyne nuking the Captain was an accident and they just didn't frame it very well in the game's interpretation of the event. I find it extremely unlikely he would do it the way he did if it was on purpose when he can pretty much get the Captain alone with him any time he wants instead of having witness and risking capture/loss of security access to scuttle the ship.

It's alright, I like how more of the dead engineers are wearing the same kind of engineering suit Isaac has, it was weird seeing them with not so futuristic gas masks in the original
why would engineers on a planet cracker be wearing the same suit as an Emergency Maintenance Engineer?
Isaac's job is considered to be default hazardous and include dealing with traumatic ship damage, explosions, fires, flying debris, rapid depressurization and whatever else that would necessitate a distress call, the shipboard engineers would be wearing much simpler outfits tailored to the section of the ship they work on and the specific needs of their job.
Your regular workaday engineer that does routine maintenance doesn't need a pressurized fire-resistance armored exoskeleton, they need coveralls and maybe an EVA suit unless they're doing work in the engines/thrusters or dangerous sections of the power plant.

It has never worked that way in any of the previous lore. The dementia has basic directives but it doesnt manipulate people to that level. And most of the hallucinations indeed are just people seeing something that isnt even there, not a face swap.
Either way, personally I think it's cooler to think that Isaac never met anyone, he was just crazy and imagining all that stuff, like protecting her from necros etc.

But the most atrocious thing of them all which NOBODY talks about is the audio. The sound effects and audio mixing is fricked all across the board. Everything is so quiet and tame. The Slasher model variety is fricking ATROCIOUS. They all have identical body morphologies because they all have to fit the one and only one musculature/skeleton model that the piss lazy devs built for the Slashers. The Slashers in this game are basically just reskins of all the same model while the OG games had all sorts of fricked up models with extra limbs, different parts of the body becoming the blades, and even crazy one off guys like the dude whose body has been twisted 180 at the hip or the Uni priests with their Marker posed hands. This sometimes leads to funny stereo types, like the black woman picking vegtables in the AG wing >the bathrooms being massive + unisex + trans inclusive not only makes no sense due to workplace issues that even still happen today, but imply that trans people, even in the future, cannot completely become one sex or the other. >The inclusion of gender id pol nonsesnse also makes reading texts imparsable and fricks with player readability. Using "proper pronouns" leads to misunderstanding basic writing, as shown earlier in the thread. >changing existing character preferences or sexualities to further shill some minority marginal mentall illness doesn't serve ot enhance the plot at all, it only adds distracting detail in the most non beneficial of ways. Brevity is the soul of wit and if you are going to add details to something it had better be for a good story reason. This is doubly true if you want to remake something, as those details are normally there for a reason.
I only played the original on ps3 but I just went and bought the original on Steam and left a negative review on the remake. Seethe and cope, Zoomer. Learn what a file folder is.
Frick the logo. The new BOX ART is what's truly shit. Just another fricking "man stands and looks at you" piece of garbage that we've been seeing for twenty fricking years now.
You homosexuals do this every single month. >x game comes out >x game is bad >THE GAME THAT BROKE Ganker!
Every single fricking month. Ganker must have been broken a hundred times by now yet is still identical to the day I started using it I don't even know how many years ago.
Do remasters fall in the same category? Because Night Dives re-release of Quake 1 is still Quake, but now the music works properly and functions as intended on modern systems. It’s also got all the expansions bundled together with a new set of levels too.
>Shortened sewer level
Bro, old RE2’s sewer is short as frick. REmake lengthens it quite a bit. Did you ever actually play the old RE2 or just watch gameplay?
The unisex bathroom is fricking fine honestly.
I think the odd sexual promiscuity of some of the characters is weird though and unneeded though, like Temple maybe used to be gay? And Kendra is a carpet muncher? Dunno why they added those lines in particular.
Rest of the remake has been fantastic though and they added a lot of meaningful changes and lore that actually falls in line to what the marker is supposed to do to people. Trying to make Kendra less evil wasn't something I wanted them to do, but whatever it's fine I guess.
>I think the odd sexual promiscuity of some of the characters is weird though and unneeded though
Every day I wake up and I am so glad that I'm not mentally ill and don't shit my pants in seething rage over what individuals do in the privacy of their own bedrooms.
I don't hate it I just find it not too natural. Why the frick would they need to tell you that Temple saw his old boyfriends instead of just saying their names.
It's a baby nitpick.
The little details are what make Dead Space, Dead Space. I took a moment to really inspect the RIG inventory screen for both, and noticed something about Classic DS I hadn’t noticed until closer inspection. It’s actually a layer of at least 3-4 screens layered on top of each other in real space that isn’t a flat texture floating in space. The remakes IS flat and will disappear if you angle the camera to be parallel with it. It also doesn’t have a “do you really want to do that?” Prompt whenever you want to sell something to prevent players from accidentally selling something they wanted to move to storage. Remakes just immediately sells or moves a thing, and brings up a “thank you” bubble whenever you buy or sell an item at the shop.
Devils in the details, and the remake removes, replaces, or makes inferior changes to them.
>Devils in the details, and the remake removes, replaces, or makes inferior changes to them
Nailed it.
We can also look at things like the failing gravity plating and the gravity/smelting beam on mining deck. The gravity plating now just periodically spits out electricity. And that smelting beam instantly explodes the meteors when they touch it, instead of them floating inside it and being taken away.
Not sure if it's some sort of an engine limitation or just laziness.
You choose to. Why are you being so hostile and whiny about this? You know how this works, stop fricking crying.

>casual Black folk saying the remake is better because it looks better >this implies that visuals is what makes or breaks games for the casual Black person >this also implies basic ability in critiquing art since they have such a tasteful eye for detail, right? >ask these casual Black folk on youtube what makes the graphics better >"muh detail! muh lighting!" >ask for elaboration >"MUH DETAIL! MUH LIGHTING!" >tell them why the OG has better visuals >"TAKE OFF YOUR ROSE TINTED GLASSES CLOWN! LMAO! RATIO'D!"
the little hope I have is dying for this generation
For me it's as simple as I like games where I know exactly what I'm looking at. Original Dead Space you can instantly tell the difference between an enemy and the floor or background. In the remake, everything just blends together.
Welcome to post 2014 gaming. Unreal Engine 4 and 5 are fricking notorious for that. Frostbite even more so. Enable DLSS and you get blurry shit everywhere.
Wait, is this thread actually talking about the game?
Thank god, this game is basically REmake but for DS, shinier graphics added and remixed gameplay elements, but I can see people not thinking it does enough to justify to price.
It's only worth it if you never played DS or really love DS.
It's not worth it for either of those people. Just go play the original and grow some fricking balls when you get to the vaguely difficult turret section that millions of other people already got past multiple times.
I like the old turret section way more, it just needed more polish but the remake changes it completely.
Anyway I say it worth it for people who played DS1 countless times and want to go back to it in a new way. Then again I paid 2 bucks for it so maybe I'd feel different if I paid the max amount.

I'm having fun with the remake. That being said, I had to reload an old save because the power cell softlock bug and this happened lmao (I have the game installed on an m.2 drive)
I don't know what you contrarian gays are complaining about. Everyone here wanted more dead space. We've had meme threads about this game for years, and now we got a remake that although isn't a 1:1 copy, retains much of what made the original so great. Gameplay is almost identical. There's some pozzed shit in it, sure, but what fricking game nowadays doesn't have pozzed shit in it? Have you seen game developers lately? They're all pozzed gender-fluid queers.
This is only technically more Dead Space, more Dead Space would be whatever they do after this potentially. Unless of course they just DS2R.
Another thing they could have done - add necromorphs that were cut from the original. Wasn't there a sewer section in Extraction? There were some water based necros, I think.
>Unless of course they just DS2R
Actually they should just remake DS Extraction as a proper game instead of a Rail shooter. Nobody would be angry about that one.

Wanting more pizza because I liked this pepperoni pizza doesn't mean I'll accept another pepperoni pizza that also has some mold but only on parts of it. Yes I went to a food analogy and yes it's an objectively correct one.
>I want more Dead Space, so I'm going to buy a remake of a 15-year-old game involving none of the people who actually made Dead Space and that's published by the company that killed it in the first place
for me, I can't reward them for throwing troony shit in the game. if that's the audience they want, that's the audience they'll get. If they were true to the cause™ they wouldn't have been so subtle about it. They tried to play both sides and it shows.
God the final upgrade for the Plasma Cutter is fun as frick. Slapping the Regenerator around like he's a fricking ragdoll in the last chapter its in is funny as frick.
It makes Impossible Mode stupid easy as well, I ripped through that in like 5 hours because of it

I asked in another thread, which wasn't talking about the game obviously, but is Extraction important enough for Motive to do something with it? I'd love to play it as an FPS even because yeah, rail shooters are fricking ass.
It's not bad at all for a rail shooter. Extraction mostly deals with some side characters, but I would say its pretty important. It details the events pre-outbreak, starting from the moment they first remove the marker.
Isaac moves fairly slowly but a lot of his animations play as though they were sped up with many follow through and wind up animations removes to make to make them play faster. His stomp and melee swing being the most obvious. They play quickly, and reset to do it again compared to the original Isaac throwing his whole body in a stomp or swing with the resulting delay between swings as he winds up to do it again. He also alternates feet to stomp in the OG. He does not in remake.

the bathroom's only a small part of the issues looking at the lgos, and the thread, biggest one is they ruined Hammond and Kendra, the two most central characters to the plot, for some reason they tried to redeem her? Some really baffling decisions.
Anonymous
They give a lot of the screen time Hammond had to either Kendra, or for hydroponics to Cross. Meanwhile Isaac is still the errand boy for everyone else but no one complains about that because “he talks now” as if that doesn’t change the fact that he’s still doing exactly the same shit as before.
The whole inclusion of Cross in the twist just ruins everything. Isaac immediately forgets about Nicole in that moment and gets upset at Kendra for killing Cross instead. He also tries to save Kendra in the end.
Makes the betrayal a lot more shitty. Isaac and the player should be fuming after the reveal.
Kendra’s death is also no where near as brutal. The Hivemind smears here across the landing pad before smashing her to bloody chunks, right in front of the player.
Remake, she’s thrown to the side and promptly dies offscreen, limbs still intact. The game is oddly averse to gore, violence, horror, and anything that might be actually unnerving. It’s not even the trigger warnings or censorship you can turn on part. The whole game hides or obscures just how bloody the Necromorph outbreak was on the ship in darkness.
Did Motive forget what series they were remaking? Kronenberg body horror monsters aren’t exactly pg13 but damn if this remake tries to present them as such.
>The game is oddly averse to gore, violence, horror, and anything that might be actually unnerving. It’s not even the trigger warnings or censorship you can turn on part
someone should find that article explaining how the game was so "scary" the main Dev couldnt play it in the dark, what an absolute joke of a company
Mercer literally falls asleep on a tentacle that drags him off screen. Zero gore. He also gets weirdly upset beforehand which makes no fricking sense given his extremist personality and belief that becoming a necromorph is an act of God.
In the original he willingly submits himself to an Infector, begging it to take him.
I hate this remake but I'm not blind to what it does well. It absolutely manages to nail a disquieting atmosphere most of the time and I'd be lying if I said it didn't. But I still can not possibly recommend this thing.
Duh. All you hear from shills is how good the gameplay is which is something nobody cared about in the original.
DS1 is boring as frick, but the atmosphere makes up for it.
DS2 is the fun, less atmospheric game.
They made lot feel like Dead Space 2 but slightly less actiony. Which - fine, make it feel better to play - but we know that a game with combat limitations always feels 'scarier' to play than one that controls well.
This is inevitable unfortunately.
Like the remake a lot but they sort of fumbled the Aegis 7 ending with the meteor not being in frame when the Hive Mind appears.
Also hive mind was too dark and the roar wasn't as intimidating, which is odd because most of the other enemies they actually mixed in the old noises for and just mixed them down.
I think part of what's throwing Ganker for a curveball is the fact that remake DS Isaac can talk, which is something that didn't become a thing until 2. All the experiences they remember are now through an entirely different lens, one where our protagonist reacts in fear to all these new threats and the player can't self-insert like before to a mute that just yelled
I feel like their GDD was to make Isaac be a character, but have the scares and situations the player finds themselves in be their own reaction rather than isaac, and then isaac would pick up on the story beats, thus somewhat keeping player agency at least in combat gameplay.
Well one good thing the remake does is reuse dialogue to establish Isaac as a resourceful guy. Take the intro for example when they're attempting a controlled crash onto the Ishimura
the change in the opening fricks with hammond and daniels, she wants to abort (likely because she knows something about the marker) but hammond is too determined and guides the crashlanding on the ishimura. thats some characterisation and dynamic building that was fricking nuked you no taste subhuman
Not that anon but Isaac is a systems engineer. Not a pilot. Making him open his mouth in a scene where he shouldn't really know what to do doesn't make him interesting. It just makes it blatantly obvious that you had some sort of internal demand to make sure every character somehow contributes to every conversation and scene.
Isaac should be resourceful with things that involve building and modifying equipment or solve machine and electrical obstacles, not piloting the ship.
Anonymous
Okay I can understand that. While he's no pilot, one could interpret Isaac knowing how to compensate for failing systems and give advice. But I understand your sentiment.
It’s a strange area to be in. Visceral had to approach a speaking Isaac after initially showing him speechless, because the entire story of DS1 is centered around a character who doesn’t talk. Which means the side characters have to pick up the slack, hence why Kendra is more combative and accusatory and Hammond is more commanding and proactive. With Isaac now an active participant, their characterization had to be altered to fit. Motive decided limp wristed possible homosexual Hammond and snarky Kendra was the way to go to show Isaac as the most competent and capable of the bunch.
I was annoyed that Isaac doesn't act rattled at all when he puts the plasma cutter together even though he should still be blasting adrenaline after the intro
oh anon if only you knew how much of a disaster the dialogue and voice acting are
this is the conversation that takes place after their first encounter: https://youtu.be/GKTY5zsxG6Y?t=675
I think I'm just going to skip this, the original looks and plays fine, as does DS2. If they make it to DS3 and do a total overhaul I'll be more interested in that.
what's actually wrong with the remake? from the videos ive seen it looks pretty neat. saw they overhauled a turret section completely.
it's not like re2make where they cut a bunch of stuff from the base game. at worse they changed some things around by the looks of it.
maybe the necromorphs look a bit less expressive/twichy, is that what people are annoyed about?
>maybe the necromorphs look a bit less expressive/twichy, is that what people are annoyed about?
Well, yeah, that's part of it, I was hoping with graphics advances they would experiment and we'd get to see some wilder looking necromorphs but it doesn't seem like that was even a consideration
625948612 >Mentally healthy people understand the superiority of the remake and will treat the original as an outdated, unapproachable pile of shit better off forgotten, which it is.
gr8 b8 m8 up until here
For me it's just the animations and sound design. If they had literally copy pasted everything from 1 and 2 I'd say it would have been a great remake. Who thought it was a good idea to put the people in charge of animations that did Andromeda.
the animations in andromeda looked good. unless youre talking about the cutscenes? But that was because they were given an engine that didnt function like that and had to jury-rig it
Sound design is fine. The majority of all the sounds from the ishimura are the same, and for the design in general you can hear shit running through the ship the entire time.
Only thing I’d say is wrong with it is that they don’t use the themes for the Regenrator and the Leviathan and that the Hivemind roars aren’t the screams of the damned.
Every positive review >Great gameplay >Amazing graphics >Upgraded mechanics and game plays very fluidly >Does justice to its old game and adds on builds on top of it.

I actually kinda like Sandler Isaac. It grew on me.
I think the only character beat I don’t like is that they tried to make Kendra not seem like a shitty glowy. I kinda just wanted her to unceremoniously die but isaac trying to help her was unneeded. Everything else was fine.
>Great gameplay >Amazing graphics >Upgraded mechanics and game plays very fluidly
same to said with the OG - youll enjoy anything pozzed as long as you werent there
All positive reviews never played the original. It's that fricking simple. People that have played the original and seen the train wreck this shit is refuse to buy it so they can't leave reviews which leaves you with troll shit. There are good bad reviews you just won't find them in the sea of trolling. Also many of the positive ones are straight up trolling too.
I still member when DS2 came out back in 2011 and playing it for the first time
Future looked bright for vidya back then, but less than two years alter soiphones ruined everything by giving normies (women) access to the internet. Then gamerghazi happened
>look forward to Callisto >wait to see reactions/reviews >take it off the wishlist >look forward to Dead Space Remake >wait to see reactions/reviews >take it off the wishlist
I don't like that the things they changed were so unnecessary. Why make such absurd changes? Combat and level design looks improved in all the right ways but there's no reason to make character changes or writing changes in such a way that retcons the original. I'm sure 85% of the game is fine but I just see, again, they had little respect for the original creator's intentions which led them to dumb things down that they either didn't understand or didn't think you would understand.
>Console Releases used to cost 100levs in Bulgaria
How do you feel about your first world country reaching the same standard of living of am ex-commie shithole lmao
It does look good, but visuals can't hide some of the clumsier animations, nor does it compensate for the original's intentional lighting placement. One good example is during the first "tentacle grab" sequence, the original deliberately placed a light above the hole you're being steadily dragged towards, while the remake it's just all darkness. In a lot of these remakes they just let the engine do a lot of the heavy lifting with the lighting because they don't know or understand the intentions of the original developers.
I kinda want to buy this, and from what I've seen it looks great, but there's also a lot of nuance stripped out, poz'd messages and it's made by EA. On the one hand the original runs pretty poorly and the controls are beyond fricked on pc, but on the other hand this one has some really good and really bad changes, with a giant downside of supporting a shitty company and shitty peopel I doint' like, who are going to remake DS2 with this same bent.
I don't like it.
I don't like how the USG Ishimura went from being the first in it's design, a brutalist industrialist planet cracker designed at the ground level to be a working vessel to being a commercial airport in it's design.
I don't like how overtly illuminated the new ships is. I understand they added more fog to help counter this but the new Ishimura looks like some cyberpunk techno ship rather than a mining operation vessel.
I don't like how the Necromorphs now suddenly have pockets of pustules ridden all over the vessel as if they were influenced by Warhammer's Nurgle rather masses of organs, bones, flesh and skin on the walls from the original game.
I don't like how the Necromorphs were made to sound more human and organic rather than the uncanny non-descript grunts and screeches.
I don't like how the new R.I.G.S were designed to appeal to the lowest common denominator rather than being designed around functionality and respect to the game's universe. The biggest offender is the new Advanced Soldier RIG, sacrificing an iconic design to chase modern blizzard/marvel trends.
I don't like how Isaac at every turn pulls off his helmet everytime he talks to someone.
I don't like the emphasis on cutscenes
I don't like the new angle with Elizabeth Cross, it lessens the impact of Isaac being a schizo.
I don't like that I can't discuss this game without being dismissed as a /misc/ false flag.
I don't like EA.
I like the gameplay, they added DS2's combat (Javelin impale) and it is perfect.
I like the graphics.
The most hilarious fricking part of the entire helmet thing is he takes if off for black Johnston, and he takes it off for Hammond, but he doesn't take it off for NICOLE. I mean, if I had it my way, it would go on at the start of the game and wouldn't come off again until the end, but if we're going to take his fricking helmet off more than once during the game; how can you NOT have him ripping that thing off to see his love with his own eyes when he finally finds her?
>no need to think about art or concepts >no need to think about story or writing >no need to think about marketing >no need to think about gameplay design, balancing or play testing >tune up old assets and port to a new engine >adjust some configs >ask the same price as the original
It's the exact same shit as Demon's Souls remake.
An objectively inferior product that completely shits over original designs, artstyle and gameplay while bringing literally nothing of value to the table.
Yet you have plenty of unironic, genuine morons claiming the new remake is better because "DUDE, GRAFIX, WHO CARES ABOUT VISUAL CLARITY OR ARTISTIC INTEGRITY, LOOK AT ALL THESE HECKING REFLECTIONS!!!!"
At the very least there's some opposition to the Dead Space remake because most of the series fanbase actually played it before, in the case of Demon's Souls remake the original game was an obscure (at release) game no "fan" actually bothered to play because they all only started caring after FromSoft became popular.
>Takes his helmet off, rather than doing the cool ass retraction animation >RiG / his shoulders looks off, like someone's carrying him around by the armpits >Ultrawide screen shill's screenshots >The weird shine on everything >How all the webms make it look like they fricked the frame rate from capture to rendering, but that's apparently what it actually looks like >Issac's fricking face
Making things shiny is the newest shortcut for lazy developers on how to make their game look "good"
Its the wet concrete thing all over again, everything has to be shiny and sparkly to mask the textures not actually being very impressive
>shots not even going where you aim
That's how it worked in the original/classic aim mode, where the laser sights actually work like lasers and shots come out from the gun barrel instead of both always being centered by default in the sequels.
Never get why people like this game so much. It was blandes by the numbers horror game with 0 original ideas. Is it like halo gays like it becouse it was their first game of this type?
I hare those futuristics holograms they are worse than seeing something in a normal flat screen. Everything is the same color, image is semi transparent making it harder to see details
>People are actually not only paying for but gloating about paying for a remake of a game that still both has gameplay and visuals that hold up to this day to the point that the gameplay has been virtually unchanged and the original trades blows with the remake visually
consumer will keep consuming no matter what, and even if the game fails commercially there's daddy Fink to print some more money if you're a woke company. at this point only USA going bankrupt might crash it but who can stop the money printer?
I dont mind most of the game but i am a little confised by some of the design choices and why go to the effort to change such minor and little things for a remake? removing white people from posters that has been done for years but why asians as well? the ship is called the ishimura like all cyberpunk-sci-fi its japanese. Also the new ending where Its Elizabeth and not a hallucination kinda is meh? Isaac being so far gone it just makes him seem less insane and i think the twist suffers for it.
I don't like all the fog.
I don't like how some sections of the game are now pitch black. It's done for a spooky factor, but it really just makes combat annoying.
Zero-G stuff can be cool, but some areas, like Hydroponics, makes it feel like a clusterfrick.
Stasis isn't as satisfying due to its weird animation.
Outside of that, the gameplay was mostly improved in the remake. Isaac moves and melees faster and the weapons are all buffed from the original.
I'm kind of neutral on being able to fully explore the Ishimura. Being able to backtrack to open newly unlocked doors is nice for extra ammo and power nodes, but I'm not sure if it feels like padding or not.
I've also experienced a couple crashes and I'm not sure what's causing it. Could be that the game doesn't know how to handle processing the entire Ishimura at a single moment compared to the original where each chapter was its own level.
What's the problem homosexual?

moronic EA shill, eat a bullet
Really wish thread-based poster IDs were site-wide so we didn't have to guess like this
This is why i hate boards with no user id. Can’t shake this feeling an entire thread is all samegays replying to themselves
AHAHAHAHAHAHA
HOW ARE PEOPLE PRAISING THIS SHIT
Money.
The necromorphs look like zombies now
Classic EA.
It's a $30 dollar game
I wait for sale or torrent.
Or get it on EA Play like people with a brain. Denuvo won. This is as good as it gets now.
Does EA play has achievements?
I love breasts so much, bros...
Same. I want a girl to suffocate me with her breasts.
why is that in Serbian and how come I don't know wheres that from?
it's in russian 1954 poster
translates as "Earn your praise!"
bottom looks far better
hologram looks liek shit
The biggest Soul vs Soulless ever.
A lot more effort seems to have gone into the top one. Why are people buying this downgrade again?
Shilling
>original game's crater is so dark and deep you can't see into it
>numake is so small and shallow you can see the fricking bottom
A monster the size of two semi trucks is supposed to pop out of and later fall back into this hole btw
That's fricking lame. In the original it was miles wide.
Everything about this thing is fricking lame.
Mercer doesn't even suicide by infector as a last ditch effort to stop you. Instead he takes a gentle nap on a tentacle. No seriously. This is his death now.
?t=19
all the deaths lack any brutality or rawness, it's not even subtle. I mean this game has fricking content warnings and blurring you can turn on, it's fricking over
in some death scenes Isaac just gets teleported away and the devs tried to hide it behind a shitload of blood splatter and le blood screen
>Hammond goes from being a cornered soldier making a final stand to being an incompetent moron that lets himself get gutted
hate how the moronic lobotomites on youtube say it makes more sense and try to hand wave it with the Marker hallucination explanation
then you bring up the terribly dull performance and they start acting like a bunch of termites that just got hot water poured on them
>turning Isaac and Nicole against each other with a newly retconned in transmission instead of keeping the last time they're able to talk a happy conversation that's eventually poisoned by the knowledge that that her gracious declaration of "you made me stick with it" basically means he effectively killed her
this remake just needlessly complicates so much shit, it's infuriating
>hire new actors
>recontextualize just tiny bits of their personality
>whole balance falls apart like the hammond example
>give isaac a voice
>now have to make him say moronic shit like 'frick this ship'
>isn't even having a conversation, or giving valuable insight, literally just a fricking talking cardboard
I fricking hate the new cutscenes too, that infector one gets on my nerves, it's just so limp
>Cross is still alive all the way to the and you need to see her in order to see Nicole
>but Kyne and Kendra can see people that aren't there
Cross and Temple are by far the most pointless, moronic fricking change in the entire story and Jo Berry needs to just find a new fricking career.
Some of us come from a time where we were willing to sacrifice a few frames per second in exchange for the best possible visuals our hardware can put out instead of autistically losing our minds if the game isn't running 120fps in 16K. I made no references to the game's performance in my complaints about it, nor will I.
>Not everything they did in 2 was an improvement
Yeah. It's just a shame because the recreated levels truly look great (with exceptions), but they are ruined by shitty lighting and other aspects of the game.
>Cross and Temple are by far the most pointless, moronic fricking change in the entire story
I hated this one, their original death scene is kino. And the whole hallucination thing kind of clashes with the lore imo. Marker shows you dead people where there are none, but faceswapping them and manipulating 2 people at the same time like that? Seems a bit bullshit to me.
Also, Cross and Temple are literal half-black mutts now.
>same stoicism
Issac went to the ishimura knowing Nicole was dead.
>Kendra talking about seeing her brother waving to her on monitors
>Kendra having watched the video aswell knows Nicole is dead
>Kendra hearing issac talk about how he found Nicole and she knows he’s losing it too.
My main complaint is I just hate how issac looks.
Give the voice actor some stubble and grey hair and I think it would’ve been fine.
Maybe squash his nose abit.
If they changed Nicole’s nose she too would’ve looked fine. A bit older but still fine
talking about seeing her brother waving to her on monitors
She says it like 3-4 separate times. I dislike how the new dialogue lacks subtlety and has tons of exposition instead of letting the players use their own heads.
>BRO WHOA LOOK AT ALL THE CUH-RAZY VISUAL FILTERS WE CAN PULL WHEN HALLUCINATIONS HAPPEN WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOA
Subtlety in video game story telling is fricking dead. Just another example of shoving Dead Space 2 shit into Dead Space 1.
And even then
>creepy whispering barely there
>the unitologist cult changing that was audible when being near the marker in the original - gone
I don't really consider the movie canon as it takes some massive liberties with the lore of the games, but I was always pretty sure Kyne nuking the Captain was an accident and they just didn't frame it very well in the game's interpretation of the event. I find it extremely unlikely he would do it the way he did if it was on purpose when he can pretty much get the Captain alone with him any time he wants instead of having witness and risking capture/loss of security access to scuttle the ship.
>they just didn't frame it very well in the game's interpretation of the event
they framed it perfectly, intentionally the feed cuts, because its setting kyne up to be untrustworthy and to wonder if the marker is just mad like the rest, and when you do find him he is
*wonder if the marker is making him mad
I see what you're saying but I just feel like all the other variables don't really agree with the use of the camera. Though I do wonder how I'd feel about this if the movie didn't exist.
I generally agree with your assertions, but the autopsy said that the needle went clean through the back of the eye socket and poked his brain, something that would have taken considerable force
The OG Kyne situation was tons of fun. Actual good intentions tainted by a pervasive madness
THIS. WHY IS NOBODY MENTIONING THIS.
Isaac sees necromorphs for the first time and BARELY reacts. He shoots one and stomps it down and again, barely reacts. He's way too composed. If you are going to have him talk, make him scared shitless.
Nah him still being silent for a good chunk of this is fine.
Him saying too much would suck even if you think you want that.
you are moronic
>phased
Did he change states of matter? I think you mean 'fazed'
moron
lol, this moron actually forgot the part of the game where Issac turns himself into a gas.
>>now have to make him say moronic shit like 'frick this ship'
He also says some borderline quip when killing the hunter. I just hate how everybody is cursing left and right. That truly is the basis of modern writing.
I could get panic cursing, like repeatedly screaming frick or shit during danger, but the fact that EVERYONE casually says "fricking" every single sentence bothers me.
I don't even mind that being the last conversation between the two if they hadn't completely changed Nicole's final message to Isaac. It would've been great if only by virtue of making Isaac feel even worse for sentencing Nicole to death.
Said termites are the ones on Ganker praising this garbage
I can excuse him going nuts and dying because of that, what I CAN'T excuse is wasting a shuttle sending off a ticking time bomb for anyone looking to recover an ESCAPE POD, something MEANT to be found and opened up.
This exactly why people have such a strong reaction against the trigger warning shit. It's a cultural trend in the industry that doesn't just stop at the tw and influences other aspects of the game.
you gonna lose your shit when you realize trigger warnings existed back in the 00's zoom zoom
>Warning comes up only once at the load-up of the game and doesn't appear again just to tell you the game is violent. People who buy the game know what they are getting into.
>Nu-games have to constantly trigger warn at EVERY potential event, every moment, and appear at the corner of the screen. Some aren't even warnings for violence but for words/conversations that will give a troon/SJW conniptions.
Not comparable at all you fricking duplicitous Black person.
duplicitous was what I did to your mom's vag last night
Gottem sister! Good job!
I need to rewatch that fricking movie man
What movie?
True Lies
>used to be devoted crazy guy who thought this was some kind of rapture and happily gave his life to it
>now he's just greedy evil stupid guy who was deceived
It's so fricking lame. I liked before how you enter the room right after he turns himself over.
it is the wokeanauts in charge of this production. They dont like depicting religious zealots like the batshit crazy og unitologists death cultists as it reminds them too much of themselves even if they never admit it
That's super lame. Him going to his death with absolute certainty of his ascension was perfect given his character and I always enjoy running out and killing the Infector before he can get the transformation he so desperately wanted.
even if you are fast, you won't see it fall down at all, it just disappears
Bottom looks better even with obvious compression from the youtube video you capped it from. A holo display doesn't shoot projector lines on the walls anwyay.
is it the sinking IQ?
is it the microplastics?
is it the woke propaganda 24/7?
I will never get how people can be this moronic and have such shit taste
>someone disagreed with me
>could I be wrong?
>no, it must be the israelites/microplastics/w-w-w-w-w-w-w-w-w-wWOOOOOOOOOOOKE
Lobotomize yourself.
you are the one who seems to be lobotized, my dude. dial8 already for today?
Actual, medically diagnosable brainrot.
Where is your riots homosexual?
You are a GPT bot.
modern devs love going full moron with fog for some reason
you can spend $15 on it right now using EA Play Pro, just cancel your sub after you finish. It isn't a $60 game, or even a $30 game.
The remake does generally look a lot better, and since it's mostly 1:1, the new areas and Dead Space 2 controls make it the best way to play it. Don't care about your Ganker mental illness.
Cucklisto was shit and this is souless woke shit I hope re4 remake doesn't disappoint
Your regular workaday engineer that does routine maintenance doesn't need a pressurized fire-resistance armored exoskeleton, they need coveralls and maybe an EVA suit unless they're doing work in the engines/thrusters or dangerous sections of the power plant.
the remake is far superior
stay mad homosexuals
Zoom zoom
I hate zoomers
I'm 31, dont be so mad if the original is so good still, go play it. The original is actually my favorite 360 game. This remaster, fricking slaps
soulless garbage for sure
ultrawide looks so awful.
yeah I hate it actually
this one actually looks nice
off to dome more homies
None of your screenshots address the dogshit animation quality, terrible voice acting, absolutely fricked writing changes, or the copy paste enemy designs.
>who bro look at the LIGHTING bro
>this game is way better than the original cuz look at these GRAPHIX
>dogshit
you haven't played it.
I literally just finished it two hours ago and have been stewing on the experience ever since, you stupid Black person.
>I literally just finished it two hours ago.
>youtube screenshot
sure thing
>Youtube screenshot
Deflect with as many lies as you want. Even IF I hadn't played the game, you're still refusing to address the blatantly inferior game that this remake is, in so many different ways.
>40fps 1080p Ultra-low settings
bwaha ha ha ha
that's why it's shit, you're running on a fricking toaster
It's on max settings. The fact that you can't even tell that is a testament to how this game looks. So I'll take the W from you on that one.
>Black person speak
have a nice day! NOW!
that's not how skinless human bits look...
Bloodless corpses that have been TORN open is totally how the human body works, right?
me in the middle
The new models in general are shit. New slashers are just angry looking zombies with no details in them at all. Look at this:
>naked guy with torso bent entirely the wrong way, bones visible broken in legs
>naked guy with entire midsection completely opened up look someone unzipped his entire body
>female slasher with mouth in side of face and head tilted at an angle, pretty face with completely empty, dead eyes
>doctor with pitch black eyes and tentacles emerging from his mouth, pushing past his face mask
>dead unitologist wearing a face obscuring robe, only parts visible are teeth and biomass emerging out of his hood
I noticed they all looked kind of samey in the early game clips I've watched, was hoping there was more variation later on
There is not. Even the Ishimura security necromorphs that appear are wearing a variant of the military suit when you look at it. Which begs the question of why a security crew on a mining ship would need military grade body armor. To stop the revolution of Cargonia?
that's disappointing
Right? The only armored Slashers in the original are wearing hardy leg armor that looks like mining gear. Even more moronic than that is that the Twitchers are wearing the exactly same armor as the armored ones in the remake yet they don't count as being armored for the purposes of combat. At least not as far as I can tell.
Anon you bring plasma rifles onto the ship in the very beginning.
This is also a ship with heavy mining equipment that can be used as dangerous fricking weapons.
Why WOULDN'T you have a armed security force on there?
We've already scene P-Sec in a ton of different Dead Space games and comics and shit and they're all just regular police officer type uniforms.
No what's throwing us for a curve ball is all the shit tier story rewrites, the bad animation, the in your face visual effects that nuke subtlety, and a ton of other issues.
That's a police force, anon.
Not quite as difficult to protect than a ship full of people with access to dangerous heavy machinery.
PCSI has the same fricking style of clothes every time we've ever seen them. Just basic kevlar looking vests.
So it's supposed to be the necros from the Valor that made it over but on hard mode they just throw them in early anyway? It's dumb.
>are wearing a variant of the military suit
I was also wondering wtf. There is no military personnel on Ishimura. They shouldnt have those white suits at all.
But I did like how those necros looked. Were there ones with mining rig as well?
>NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO YOU CANT JUST REUSE ASSETS IN MY GAME STOP IT WAAAAAAAAAAA
I too love paying money for less product. Even if its insignificant, my money has worth, worth i will squeeze until it can carry me no further.
You? you have nothing. you are nothing.
I have more people on my side than you do, which is all that matters, moron.
>REEEEEEE
and no sense of self respect.
>tips fedora
Thats... wouldn't telling me shit like *unsheats katana* or "nothing personell kid" would have made more sense?
I mean I understood the lol im le neckbeard joke but frick, insult me properly
If assets are going to be reused, some care as to where and why is important. The original had necros that only appeared in certain levels and rarely or never again. Notice how the mining deck has a high number of miner necromorphs but none of the medical staff necros. Or how later levels reuse mostly the naked variants of slashers and none of the ones that appear on the Ishimura specifically. Some care of placement matters to add to immersion.
Well, the game and the shills have something in common - no subtlety.
Since this is a billion dollar mining vessel that essentially is the cornerstone of the economy, and each ship is basically a flying community where people live/work, it's not weird to have a security force to ensure staff won't get stir crazy
Also this. The idea of an armed force on the ship is irrelevant and straw grasping.
Even fricking Star Trek shit, a crew full of advanced peace loving explorers, had a security force and holding cells
boomers really be looking at this shit and trying to pretend you can't count the pixels, fricking jej
graph dicks is the only measure of a games quality !
I love the detail that some of them are missing their original limbs and have new ones made from biomass
Are these all from Dead Space 1?
1, 3, 4, 5, 7, and 10 are.
It's also missing the Twitchers and Hunter, though those are technically different enemy types.
oh wow, yeah. Thanks anon, that is a huge downgrade
i appreciate the detail that have a lot of them with their hands hunched towards the stomach, as if they were in great pain at the time.
>W
What the frick is happening with this board? It's nothing more than zoomers and their moronic slang.
don't take the obvious bait anon don't take the obvious bait
>1080p
>26fps
no wonder you don't like it. fricking lol, the 2008 original on my PC looks better than the new one it on your PC
>Original
>Kendra takes off her jacket and is wearing short sleeves at this part
>Cross is a white woman with short brown hair
>Remake
>Kendra is wearing a fricking burkha
>Cross is a half asian half black mutt with a pixie hair cut and botox cheeks
what the frick
Not to mention
>Cross was a bit part character who is tragically already dead, right next to Temple by the time you reach them; further increasing the feeling of isolation as you never come across anyone that isn't dead, trying to kill you, or clearly crazy.
>Nu-Cross is alive, sane, and friendly, putting a hefty dent in the isolation, over complicating the story, and not even letting her and Jacob die together. Survives all the way to the end because WHOA DUDE YOU THINK SHE'S NICOLE AND SHE THINKS YOU'RE JACOB BRO LOOK AT HOW CLEVER OUR NEW WRITERS ARE DUDE!
This is in line with how the marker works, idiot.
You think it makes sense that the marker can create ghosts that do things on its own? Why the frick would it need anyone to do anything for it then?
>This is in line with how the marker works
It has never worked that way in any of the previous lore. The dementia has basic directives but it doesnt manipulate people to that level. And most of the hallucinations indeed are just people seeing something that isnt even there, not a face swap.
Either way, personally I think it's cooler to think that Isaac never met anyone, he was just crazy and imagining all that stuff, like protecting her from necros etc.
The dementia has basic directives but it doesn't manipulate people to that level. The signal literally makes people want to build markers and it resonates through people to reach others.
It was always making you do its bidding. Dead Space 2 proved this.
All this remake is doing is removing the ghost aspect.
The Marker has always shown people images of things that aren't actually fricking there, you dumb c**t. Even in the remake it still does that. All this new twist does is over complicate the narrative, rob Temple and Cross of their deaths together, and change literally nothing about Nicole not being alive. It gets even dumber when you realize that Kendra now has to do the mental gymnastics of somehow knowing that Isaac is referring to Cross as Nicol when he constantly refers to Cross as Cross when we the player see her and when on comms. Kendra and Cross never even meet face to face until the very fricking end of the game.
>Kendra now has to do the mental gymnastics of somehow knowing that Isaac is referring to Cross as Nicol when he constantly refers to Cross as Cross when we the player see her and when on comms. Kendra and Cross never even meet face to face until the very fricking end of the game.
This. It would be a far better touch if Kendra acted like Isaac was behaving strangely when he mentions Nicole, like a subtle hint to the player that something is off.
They absolutely didnt care about isolation in the remake. Different game direction.
>wears a fricking burkha
Do you know what a burka is?
what a drama queen good lord
Every shill is trying to use the woke shit as a shield, implying that thats the only reason people dislike the remake.
You're right on all points though, although I think the slasher model variety is pretty good.
But the most atrocious thing of them all which NOBODY talks about is the audio. The sound effects and audio mixing is fricked all across the board. Everything is so quiet and tame. Many of the iconic necro screems in particular. For example the Divider - he still kind of has that creepy roar, but its turned down so low that you cant even hear it.
And that's on top of the fact that all of these models just sorta suck compared to default Slasher model with his blood matted hair and gouged out eyes.
go deflect your homosexual cope somewhere else, coward
That has nothing to do with the fact that he is completely unphased by otherworldly and horrifying shit happening to him and he barely fricking reacts.
>model variety is fricking ATROCIOUS
Well that might be the case. I was just talking about their skins, at least those have some variety. Their faces definitely suck though.
literally every game has flaws, but what you said is just not true. What is there deflect when you just act like its full of issues. Its not
>every game has flaws
>so we took this game that has flaws and decided to add even more flaws while adding nothing of actual value to it except using a new engine with more horsepower which by its very nature guarantees higher graphical fidelity
>we're so good at making games!
I'm at chaper 2 and have not a single issue..nothing looks or performs worse than before, everything is better. Or nothing is good enough for you?
you have shit taste/never played the original
>they ruined the divider audio
Ahh yes, taking the most iconic and scariest part of the enemy and ruining it.
Fantastic.
I think ultrawide produces nice screenshots, but that's about it.
>This remaster, fricking slaps
They're pushing fricking Dead space 2 plot points into 1
>I'm 31
>this remaster slaps fr fr yo no cap poggers
have a nice day
>31
>fricking slaps
i'm gonna fricking slap you you homosexual
>31
>frfr on god it slaps no cap it's bussin'
You are either a zoomer lying about his age, or you are so hopelessly desperate to stay relevant you are using zoomer speak. In either gas I strongly urge you to drink bleach.
Uh huh have fun paying $60-$70 while people spend cheaper for the original
It's also full of troony shit.
Explain what is OBJECTIVELY wrong with any of this without drowning in b***h tears or moralizing.
They could've spent that time making the game good lol
None of these changes and additions were necessary.
Videogames aren't necessary. Your existence isn't necessary.
It's literally perfect.
How's that self respect helping you out, dumbass? Oh, it isn't? That sucks. 🙂
Find someone who cares.
you care. alot.
>It's literally perfect.
Nah. I'll keep giving you some (you)s though, my mom says I'm such a nice guy
Clearly you do, you keep responding.
>objectively
dilate harder
But where is the wrong part?
>Changing the properties of an established character dilutes them as people
Prove this.
>makes conversations about them in the future less cohesive and intuitive
Incorrect. Mentally healthy people understand the superiority of the remake and will treat the original as an outdated, unapproachable pile of shit better off forgotten, which it is.
Oh you're trolling. Damn. I was hoping to speak to an actual human on here for once.
>Where is it wrong?
It was made into a vehicle for state propaganda comrade.
Like rotting flesh.
>It was made into a vehicle for state propaganda comrade.
Where is the part where you outline why something is OBJECTIVELY bad?
"I don't like it" isn't a valid argument.
>Noooo you can't dislike degeneracy and hating whites!
You'll never be a woman, kys.
Art that does not exist for its own sake and exists to push a narrative is objectively inferior because it is beholden to something beyond its own artistic merits and ideals. Thus, empirically this remake is worse and anyone saying otherwise is admitting to being a bad actor operating outside of good faith.
how bad do you think the dude that made this smells?
>nicole is older
Why do people forget than nicole and isaac are and older couple.
Dude literally had grey hair in the first game.
Damn guess they just FORGOT to make Nicole old lol
Nicole was 39 in the events of Dead Space 1. She looks 55 in the remake.
39 is literally pulled out of fricking nowhere. Show me where it states that.
>the wiki said
Wikis are run be morons and homosexuals.
It's a better source than your ass.
>39
>still no kids
Good thing the white roastie an hero"ed, those b***hes eggs must have stank. Finally Issac can fulfill his genetic destiny by procreation with that saucy one-eyed latina
Changing the properties of an established character dilutes them as people and makes conversations about them in the future less cohesive and intuitive.
Sure
>Nicole Brennan being older, more stern and b***hy makes teh player not sympathize with her and discards her unique character in the game, previously she was a normal person who you wanted to save because she was good hearted, and contrasted the ugliness of the ship, and the world. A classic hero's journey excerpt of going through hell to obtain that which you seek, now she's none of those things
>the posters in general are all poorly designed and don't properly communicate what they're advertising, like the limb enhancement one. A lot of times design elements are sacrificed for teh sake of adding more black people, which is different than diversity ebcause the originals were already diverse. This sometimes leads to funny stereo types, like the black woman picking vegtables in the AG wing
>the bathrooms being massive + unisex + trans inclusive not only makes no sense due to workplace issues that even still happen today, but imply that trans people, even in the future, cannot completely become one sex or the other.
This is doubly true if you want to remake something, as those details are normally there for a reason.
nobody normal likes cultist dogma being showed into their faces
Full? Nice photo op. Stay upset over nothing.
thanks for the head ups
I was debating the purchase
just gonna replay the original with the fixes
So most of it can be solved with a simple texture mod. There is a tool for this
Going to laugh when Nexus bans it.
I remember some drama about modding out the aids from some fourX game, it was banned from steam workshop
I only played the original on ps3 but I just went and bought the original on Steam and left a negative review on the remake. Seethe and cope, Zoomer. Learn what a file folder is.
>stop having fun
no
>last played yesterday
>not today
forgive me
Good, these video games aren't going to play themselves anon. At least not yet anyway, we're still a few years off.
can we take a moment to appreciate how shit the new logo is
>pathetic
Frick the logo. The new BOX ART is what's truly shit. Just another fricking "man stands and looks at you" piece of garbage that we've been seeing for twenty fricking years now.
omg the horror
the game that mind broke Ganker
You homosexuals do this every single month.
>x game comes out
>x game is bad
>THE GAME THAT BROKE Ganker!
Every single fricking month. Ganker must have been broken a hundred times by now yet is still identical to the day I started using it I don't even know how many years ago.
Why didn't they just copy paste the enemy sounds? Weird as hell too since sometimes the lurkers utter their original sounds.
Just got to engineering on my impossible playthrough. Almost got fricked up in medical during "that" part. How far are you guys?
Why is the remake "LE bad"?
its not. Ganker are just seething at a uni sex bathroom and the odd black person on a poster.
Not even surprised, Ganker aleays hates remakes for stupid reasons.
The only good remake to ever exist was the re1 remake and only because it was made by the original director and devs
Do remasters fall in the same category? Because Night Dives re-release of Quake 1 is still Quake, but now the music works properly and functions as intended on modern systems. It’s also got all the expansions bundled together with a new set of levels too.
re2make blew everybody out of the water. It is the high quality standard that sparked these new wave remake spam like this woke space
>inb4 contrarian homosexuals start autistically screeching about demake because no big spidermen and shortened sewer level (thank fricking god)
It's a baby nitpick.
yea, its weird as frick. It would feel way more natural (but still gay) if he mentioned them by name with sorrow in his voice.
>Frank...Sam...god, jesus christ...
Just going "my old boyfriends" is weird as shit
>Temple dated God and Jesus Christ
i dont know, that seems a bit far-fetched. probably better to keep it as 'boyfriends"
Keyword being privacy.
I don't need to nor want to hear about it.
They're video game characters, anon
I think you have brain damage, you're attempting to equate characters in a video game to real people
instead you seethe at what they post from the basement on the internet. Kewl.
Unisex bathroom is fine. But the sign is pure unashamed pandering
Agreed.
It's funny that even years after this pandering shit started they still have yet to make it look natural.
You MUST look at it.
you pay money. Why.
What does the shit next to the ammo counter mean?
>only good suit is the legacy suit
>they didn't even put better textures on it at least
Looks way too out of place.
Just can't help themselves
Who's 'they' in this? I haven't played the games.
Rousseau. The person mentioned in the log. They are trans and identify with they/them pronouns.
Why can't you fricking morons understand such simple grammatical concepts like this?
why are they trans, also if they are trans why is he using anything but the words he would want others to see him as?
>why are they trans
Why are you white?
>also if they are trans why is he using anything but the words he would want others to see him as
Because they aren't a "he", you fricking idiot.
How do you transition to being a "they"?
You choose to. Why are you being so hostile and whiny about this? You know how this works, stop fricking crying.
I chose to say thats dumb
You choose to be forgotten by history.
Heh. Everyone is man.
Good and evil, chud and troon. Its all made up.
Values, thats just funny.
name 5 influential transsexuals
I'm not whining, you're being incredibly hostile, though and I'm not sure why.
Could you give me some more explicit instructions? I can't bake a cake with "you just do", right?
Im not white.
And momma told me to give people the benefit of doubt so i don't wanna insult someome implying they are a, yknow. A W-word.
That's rude.
>Why are you white?
Excuse me, I identify as black
It's OK, I can just choose to.
I always get so fricking confused when I read this shit, because I assume there are two people there.
>More advanced graphics
>They are worse
Why is this happening so often now?
>graphics
Cool 1993 buzzword homosexual. The remake looks MILES better. Sorry about
Diversity hires
others peoples reviews ultimately mean little to me.
fricking Krafton
we needed a good game to hurt EA
Currently playing the original and the remake side-by-side, chapter by chapter.
Enjoying the original way more for whatever reason. The remake seems bloated somehow.
>The remake seems bloated somehow.
Because it is
I thought you needed somewhat direct interaction with the Marker to start feeling the effects.
>casual Black folk saying the remake is better because it looks better
>this implies that visuals is what makes or breaks games for the casual Black person
>this also implies basic ability in critiquing art since they have such a tasteful eye for detail, right?
>ask these casual Black folk on youtube what makes the graphics better
>"muh detail! muh lighting!"
>ask for elaboration
>"MUH DETAIL! MUH LIGHTING!"
>tell them why the OG has better visuals
>"TAKE OFF YOUR ROSE TINTED GLASSES CLOWN! LMAO! RATIO'D!"
the little hope I have is dying for this generation
For me it's as simple as I like games where I know exactly what I'm looking at. Original Dead Space you can instantly tell the difference between an enemy and the floor or background. In the remake, everything just blends together.
Welcome to post 2014 gaming. Unreal Engine 4 and 5 are fricking notorious for that. Frostbite even more so. Enable DLSS and you get blurry shit everywhere.
Agree, I’d be happy if every game looked like mass effect 3’s remaster. 2012 graphics boosted a bit to fit modern hardware is good enough
Dead Space has aged so well. I wish the physics weren't locked to 30fps on pc.
Wait, is this thread actually talking about the game?
Thank god, this game is basically REmake but for DS, shinier graphics added and remixed gameplay elements, but I can see people not thinking it does enough to justify to price.
It's only worth it if you never played DS or really love DS.
I really love dead space and I'm not buying this garbage
Thank you for letting me know
I like the old turret section way more, it just needed more polish but the remake changes it completely.
Anyway I say it worth it for people who played DS1 countless times and want to go back to it in a new way. Then again I paid 2 bucks for it so maybe I'd feel different if I paid the max amount.
It's not worth it for either of those people. Just go play the original and grow some fricking balls when you get to the vaguely difficult turret section that millions of other people already got past multiple times.
If you "really" love DS you would hate this trash
>Pozzed Space
No thanks. I'll stick to the original trilogy, which is far superior.
My initial impression of the remake was very good, but the more I play, the more I find to complain about.
It does some things right, and does some things bad, and in the end, it just ends up feeling disappointing.
Not really, I just bought a monthly EA subscription. It's not worth replaying anyway.
It doesn't look THAT BAD in the remake.
And the original.
Why are they beating me over the head with super obvious hints that Nicole is dead it was way more subtle in the original?
I wouldn't say super obvious but yeah I agree that if you do the side missions releated to her, you can pick up on the fact that shit is off
Issac even admits he knew deep down she was dead but didn't want to accept it in one of the dialogue variations at the end of the game.
No, anon you have to enjoy the "expanded lore."
More is always better.
Are the face mods out yet?
soulless
I'm having fun with the remake. That being said, I had to reload an old save because the power cell softlock bug and this happened lmao (I have the game installed on an m.2 drive)
Ths power of the Personalized Computer...
>Everyone here wanted more dead space
a remake is not more
Wanting more pizza because I liked this pepperoni pizza doesn't mean I'll accept another pepperoni pizza that also has some mold but only on parts of it. Yes I went to a food analogy and yes it's an objectively correct one.
Never wanted more and never wanted a remake. A remaster - ehh, maybe at some point.
>I want more Dead Space, so I'm going to buy a remake of a 15-year-old game involving none of the people who actually made Dead Space and that's published by the company that killed it in the first place
It didn't need a remake you consoomer homosexual
>Everyone here wanted more dead space.
Yeah, I wanted Dead Space 4 by Visceral, not this shit.
>a remake of the original for $70 = more Dead Space
let me milk you for your blood you waste of fricking oxygen, brain-dead consoomer tard
for me, I can't reward them for throwing troony shit in the game. if that's the audience they want, that's the audience they'll get.
I'm gonna try it again in Dolphin with my mouse set up as the Wiimote and see if I can manage this time.
It honestly has some superb hallucination moments, better than in the mainline games. Ironically so does the mobile game.
Does the final upgrade not make it sound and feel like a shitty laser gun?
Sounds fine to me senpai.
Then you didn't play the original
>backhands a necro and sends it flying 8 feet away
Is this footage sped up or does Isaac move like he's on crack now?
His new walk cycle looks like he needs to take a massive shit but can't find a bathroom.
So basically Ganker is tsundere for the game
If that's Japanese for "wants to make shit up based off things that don't matter and aren't indicative of the actual video game" then yes
why do you defend a REMAKE? answer honestly pls
That's not a defense for the remake, that's a comment on you homosexuals being disingenuous wienersuckers
>disingenuous
frick you moron, the remake is WORSE in every respect bar graphics AND its woke, choke on that corporate boot you homosexual
Explain why wthout bringing up a bathroom and I MIGHT give a shit about what you have to say, until then you're just a brainrotted /misc/tard that has to lie to find faults in things.
>Entire thread with posts that have nothing to do with the bathrooms
Read or have a nice day, dumb Black person.
I didn't ask the thread, I asked YOU. Obviously you can't because you didn't play the game, but the worst thing is people like you are taking a woke collage and parroting it like it matters at all in regards to the video game part.
Even if I did explain to you all the things the remake did right, you wouldn't care because you're not interesting in talking about the video game the same way I'm not interesting in getting involved with your culture war.
So you've chosen have a nice day. I too can list a bunch of things the remake did right, you stupid piece of shit. They don't outweigh the numerous things it either does wrong or does worse than a game 15 fricking years old.
>the worst thing is people like you are taking a woke collage and parroting it like it matters at all in regards to the video game part
If you read the thread, you know that isn't all that's happening here. Funny how you get to declare what's happening in the thread despite not fricking reading it. Go find some fricking rope. You're done here.
Sure doing a lot of talking around the video game aren't we, champ?
>If you read the thread, you know that isn't all that's happening here
You're right, that's not all that's happening here, but it IS happening, and you're most likely part of it.
I don't hear strangled asphyxiation in your posts. Chop chop, homosexual.
>I didn't ask the thread, I asked YOU. Obviously you can't because you didn't play the game, but the worst thing is people like you are taking a woke collage and parroting it like it matters at all in regards to the video game part.
but it does matter, RE and RE2 didn't do woke shit, hell, RE3 added in a graphic bug wiener swallowing scene. Why wouldn't far left virtue signalling plastered everywhere be a red flag?
the bathroom's only a small part of the issues looking at the lgos, and the thread, biggest one is they ruined Hammond and Kendra, the two most central characters to the plot, for some reason they tried to redeem her? Some really baffling decisions.
The more I hear about this remake the more it feels like they took the survival horror of the original and turned it into action horror
That's not until 2
I hate this remake but I'm not blind to what it does well. It absolutely manages to nail a disquieting atmosphere most of the time and I'd be lying if I said it didn't. But I still can not possibly recommend this thing.
cool story bro, glad you enjoyed it
This is inevitable unfortunately.
>turned it into action horror
Indeed. Even if many people say that DS1 was not survival horror, this is way less so.
They turned into a shittier dead space 2
How has nobody made a webm of the ending Jumpscare yet? It's fricking hilarious.
All the experiences they remember are now through an entirely different lens, one where our protagonist reacts in fear to all these new threats and the player can't self-insert like before to a mute that just yelled
>our protagonist reacts in fear to all these new threats
Except he doesn't. That's another issue.
I feel like their GDD was to make Isaac be a character, but have the scares and situations the player finds themselves in be their own reaction rather than isaac, and then isaac would pick up on the story beats, thus somewhat keeping player agency at least in combat gameplay.
I really like isaac talking and reacting to shit. It's actually kind of cathartic.
The original game wasn't made with him talking in mind and it shows in the remake
So showing early Isaac's resourcefulness and purpose on this mission is a bad thing? I didn't insult you, anon
85iq take by you, not shocked xirster corpo rat
Not that anon but Isaac is a systems engineer. Not a pilot. Making him open his mouth in a scene where he shouldn't really know what to do doesn't make him interesting. It just makes it blatantly obvious that you had some sort of internal demand to make sure every character somehow contributes to every conversation and scene.
Isaac should be resourceful with things that involve building and modifying equipment or solve machine and electrical obstacles, not piloting the ship.
He's more scared in the original tbh senpai
I was annoyed that Isaac doesn't act rattled at all when he puts the plasma cutter together even though he should still be blasting adrenaline after the intro
also troony bathrooms
oh anon if only you knew how much of a disaster the dialogue and voice acting are
this is the conversation that takes place after their first encounter: https://youtu.be/GKTY5zsxG6Y?t=675
Well, yeah, that's part of it, I was hoping with graphics advances they would experiment and we'd get to see some wilder looking necromorphs but it doesn't seem like that was even a consideration
lol pffffft EA interns told me this a great remake and totally not a demake with 90% of the work outsourced to indians
Dead Space 2008 has better art direcrtion and sound design thus making it the better experience. This will be my last post in this thread
Hey remember that agonizing death scream that was in the original? Well it's gone now lol.
?t=335
All the sounds are fricked. Even the ending jumpscare sucks and they didnt even use the creepy original ending song.
you fricking homosexualS with your homosexual threads on and on and on
frick you
>nuv sides with j(EA)w
l m a ooo
>zoomers and trannies claim another beloved series
grim
>they didnt use the cut content from Dead Space Downfall like the Graverobber and turn it into a new boss
Wow what a missed opportunity. Not surprised that troony devs lacked the creative thought to add something new though
625948612
>Mentally healthy people understand the superiority of the remake and will treat the original as an outdated, unapproachable pile of shit better off forgotten, which it is.
gr8 b8 m8 up until here
Look at your failure. Shame. SHAME.
Only thing I’d say is wrong with it is that they don’t use the themes for the Regenrator and the Leviathan and that the Hivemind roars aren’t the screams of the damned.
nah, I'm not playing with you anymore, you overshot and went full moron, move along
Holy kino
The timing on every single cutscene in this game is so off it's amazing.
Why does she look so disappointed?
They even show prior to this the chair is empty. In the original it's questionable whether it's a vision or not until DS2 comes around.
Lame as frick. I knew they would ruin that ending.
Why does she look like a hag
Because they literally turned her from a cute woman to a 50 years old hag.
God he looks like such a loser now what a fricking disaster
>I'M OVULATING RIGHT NOW
>making up bew lore about isaac having a uni mom and dad
>he never read the log in the original game at the beginning of NG+
Are we just choosing to be moronic now?
Every positive review
>Great gameplay
>Amazing graphics
>Upgraded mechanics and game plays very fluidly
>Does justice to its old game and adds on builds on top of it.
All negative review
>Too many blacks
>Gender neutral bathroom
>That one model doesn't have giant knockers and jacked glued onto her boobs. Other model is too old for me to get my dick hard and Isac model is looks like Philp DeFranco!!!! REEEEE
One side seems like they're using facts and other very emotional.
I actually kinda like Sandler Isaac. It grew on me.
I think the only character beat I don’t like is that they tried to make Kendra not seem like a shitty glowy. I kinda just wanted her to unceremoniously die but isaac trying to help her was unneeded. Everything else was fine.
it builds on nothing, makes nothing better bar graphics, worse story, worse atmosphere, floaty out the ass. and is evil in spirit to boot
>Great gameplay
>Amazing graphics
>Upgraded mechanics and game plays very fluidly
same to said with the OG - youll enjoy anything pozzed as long as you werent there
All positive reviews never played the original. It's that fricking simple. People that have played the original and seen the train wreck this shit is refuse to buy it so they can't leave reviews which leaves you with troll shit. There are good bad reviews you just won't find them in the sea of trolling. Also many of the positive ones are straight up trolling too.
I played DS1 and DS2 when I was a kid. Loved it. Absolutely loving this remake but the controls are dog shit.
Sneed
The atmosphere feels like some shitty modern horror movie
>getting buttmad over a shitty remaster of a shitty game
typical
God I fricking hate lurkers so much.
Can you even switch to the normal lasers for weapons?
Anyone have footage of the remake Kyne? I heard his new voice actor was much worse.
Looks just like the original!
>Dr. Terrence Kyne is now Dr. Tarik Kebab
It is all so tiresome.
Oh god you have NO idea how much worse he is now.
?t=377
Jesus Christ what a blunder. The new voice actor doesn't really convey the old Kyne's off-kilter behavior at all.
Wow, huge downgrade.
I wonder if the old guy was dead or not because the other voices do their best to sound like the old ones.
Holy frick, did they really couldn't get Keith Szarabajka to voice Kyne again?
Thank God it sucks, it was either buy this or Hawaiiangirlsofia's latest try on haul
what porn is this? suace?
It's not porn, read the fricking post again mark
I still member when DS2 came out back in 2011 and playing it for the first time
Future looked bright for vidya back then, but less than two years alter soiphones ruined everything by giving normies (women) access to the internet. Then gamerghazi happened
why are nu-devs so afraid of adding color to remakes
what do you mean, there are Black folk everywhere
>look forward to Callisto
>wait to see reactions/reviews
>take it off the wishlist
>look forward to Dead Space Remake
>wait to see reactions/reviews
>take it off the wishlist
I don't like that the things they changed were so unnecessary. Why make such absurd changes? Combat and level design looks improved in all the right ways but there's no reason to make character changes or writing changes in such a way that retcons the original. I'm sure 85% of the game is fine but I just see, again, they had little respect for the original creator's intentions which led them to dumb things down that they either didn't understand or didn't think you would understand.
Yeah, the fan fiction elements are what dissuaded me from picking this up, despite some of the gameplay changes seeming good.
Videogames are like $93+tax now in Canada.
>Console Releases used to cost 100levs in Bulgaria
How do you feel about your first world country reaching the same standard of living of am ex-commie shithole lmao
Saying the Remake LOOKS bad is disingenuous. It looks great.
It is a downgrade in terms of characters, especially Hammond and Kendra, and overall writing.
Why the frick did they need to rewrite every single line of dialogue, even when what's being said is the same??
It does look good, but visuals can't hide some of the clumsier animations, nor does it compensate for the original's intentional lighting placement. One good example is during the first "tentacle grab" sequence, the original deliberately placed a light above the hole you're being steadily dragged towards, while the remake it's just all darkness. In a lot of these remakes they just let the engine do a lot of the heavy lifting with the lighting because they don't know or understand the intentions of the original developers.
Looks shit
whoa, $70 is a bit steep. I think I'll just get the ghost recon game instead.
There are 1k+ crew members aboard the ishimura. But in the game’s crew deck there’s only 2-4 rooms with bunk beds in them LOL.
I don't care about the ESG tax write offs.
I would rather get this over Forespoken, which is also $70 + tip

Just further proof that you can't paint over console limitations.
>no need to think about art or concepts
>no need to think about story or writing
>no need to think about marketing
>no need to think about gameplay design, balancing or play testing
>tune up old assets and port to a new engine
>adjust some configs
>ask the same price as the original
Bros can I get a torrent of the original game? Last time I tried to find it I couldn't.

Awesome, thanks a lot.
>Reloaded
What does it change?
Isaac can fly and stop bullets.
Just play or replay the original before buying the remake, you will understand.
i never played the originals, but the dude have more face time in the "remake"?
My eyes hurt after scrolling through this thread.
>Takes his helmet off, rather than doing the cool ass retraction animation
>RiG / his shoulders looks off, like someone's carrying him around by the armpits
>Ultrawide screen shill's screenshots
>The weird shine on everything
>How all the webms make it look like they fricked the frame rate from capture to rendering, but that's apparently what it actually looks like
>Issac's fricking face
Making things shiny is the newest shortcut for lazy developers on how to make their game look "good"
Its the wet concrete thing all over again, everything has to be shiny and sparkly to mask the textures not actually being very impressive
but in the 1st game the helmet can be taken off????
the helmet retracting was only added in 2
Can someone make a comparison between the ending with your dead wife on the ship
see
I know what the endings look like. I just mean a webm of them side by side so you can see how shitty the remake one is. I'm too lazy to makeit myself.
Jesus fricking chris, they managed to ruin the ending's jumpscare
That's honestly impressive considering it wasn't a great scare to begin with.
Someone post that forspoken WebM please, the one with the moron faces
everything's in total darkness 70% of the time
what the frick where they thinking
Darkness + flashlight = scary!!!
>those animations
>shots not even going where you aim
Jesus Christ. The pop in at 4s just seals the deal.
>shots not even going where you aim
That's how it worked in the original/classic aim mode, where the laser sights actually work like lasers and shots come out from the gun barrel instead of both always being centered by default in the sequels.
Never get why people like this game so much. It was blandes by the numbers horror game with 0 original ideas. Is it like halo gays like it becouse it was their first game of this type?
Sci-Fi horror was, at the time, a very sparse genre. Mix in an interesting twist to combat, and the game snagged people.
Consumerism is the new religion, and new>old is the first commandment
What a world we live in
It isn't even so much new>old as denial or obfuscation that any media older than ten years even exists (unless remastered or receiving a sequel).
crash the market crash the market crash the market crash the market crash
consumer will keep consuming no matter what, and even if the game fails commercially there's daddy Fink to print some more money if you're a woke company. at this point only USA going bankrupt might crash it but who can stop the money printer?
>Trying to stop the perfected goy piggy from consuming new (old) product.
You're almost as stupid as they are.
