With this new patch? Maybe. Raid doesnt' open until next week, free legendary cloak, lots of catchup gear, AP is boosted to get to lvl 70, and it's not like anyone is going to check your Essences in a normal pug.

You're still artificially gated by cloak/instance upgrades, which have a weekly limit by self-gating each other.
Also, unless they are in full frick it mode for Shadowlands, and only care about the hardcores, the lead systems designer for 8.3 is getting fired.
