The games keep getting easier and more casualized, and you think a change would happen now?
Only the minority give a shit about competitive mechanics most people just want to see cool elemental powered creatures
>rain, sun, doubles
>competitive mechanics
god campaignshitters are fucking retarded
but think of the children
Oh but I do. Every day.
This is why Flint was based
For me it was Cynthia, I was hoping to find a Champion like Lance (easy to beat just using Ice Beam and Thunder), and that fucking stone and her sea serpent swept my team away.
>Musical gym leader
>Give it pokemon that sings or sound
All they had to do
Well now they have pokemon of different types, which they turn into a predictable monotype of their gym with Terastal
I know it's an RPG for kids, but they seriously had the opportunity to create incredible combinations or give the combat a twist and they use it for this
>"Oh Look, a rock gym leader, I will finish off his team just using my water starter, wait he has a Cacturne, I wasn't prepared for that,, maybe ...." (Transforms it into a Rock type) I defeat him with a water move
gameplay yay
>>gyms are STILL based on monotype teams instead of differing strategies (setup sweepers, hazard phasing, baton pass, rain teams, sun teams, doubles, etc.)
Exactly what /vp/ doesn't want they just want 1000 Atk stat with a 1000bp Move they can spam A on
Source?
>How do we fix X threads

>retard still can't comprehend the concept of a game developed with children as primary consumers in mind
>noo this gym had both fire AND water mons noo think of the fucking children they will suicide after this nooo
Brat
>gyms need wacky gimmicks just like my heckin PVP!
Zoomer detected. Gyms just need small puzzles and a memorable boss fight, nothing else matters. If you want baby stuff try one of the countless romhacks that give competitively viable teams to the NPCs
Pokemon colosseum does this with some of the big fights.
>Miror B has Ludicolo's with rain dance, swift swim, rain dish, leech seed and mega drain.
>Dakim has protect + earthquake shenanigans.
>Venus spams attract and statuses.
>Ein has a thunder rain team.
>Justy focuses on boosting evasion with double team, sandstorm and sand veil
all pokemon needs is to focus on double battles so either little timmy has to catch 2 water types or learn to protect his win condition from getting fucked at the rock gym
monotype teams can also run perfectly threatening shit, like imagine a double battle with a flying gym leader and their hawlucha just suddenly uses mud sport
That's because the game was outsourced to a team swiped from Sony that literally knew nothing about pokemon. They intentionally made colosseum to appeal to pre teen gen wunners. Hence why it was a bit edgier and so different
>In Gen 10 the Gym Leaders are based on weather and terrains
>Grassy Terrain Gym
>Sandstorm Gym
>Electric Terrain Gym
>Rain Gym
>Psychic Terrain Gym
>Sun Gym
>Misty Terrain Gym
>Snow Gym
>the E4 and Champion are based on stats
>Resistance (HP)
>Offense (ATK and SpATK)
>Defense (DEF and SpDEF)
>Speed (SPD)
>Champion: Balanced
You rike?
>Cheerio! I lead a Dragon-type gym. We do our battles in Doubles and we specialize in weather wars.
More like him, please.
>she skipped sword and shield
>casino gym
>leader is a lounge singer babe
>theme is luck
>big emphasis on moves that affect odds (stat changing moves, confusion, OHKO moves, etc.)
>last part is a big roulette machine that determines the team the gym leader chooses to fight you with (multiple premade ones)
Would be unfair as fuck, but it’ll BTFO speed runners and every type of autistic challenge run, so that would make me happy
>it’ll BTFO speed runners and every type of autistic challenge run, so that would make me happy
You had me at casino gym but this makes it even better.
don't forget
>ace has metronome
I thought Mosdeep was partly based around double battles?
Gyms are, in lore, tutorials so the campaign is supposed to be a big tutorial mode... From which you'll learn nothing because you'll most likely miss most lessons and hints when you're hitting your head against a wall or one shotting their teams with your starter.
Ironically, Pokemon Stadium 2 made the gyms an actual challenge barely months into Pokemania by having teams where a third of the gym leaders' teams are there as a safety clause to their monotype teams.
>9 generations
>still no fighting game battle system
This has been admittedly due to the fanbase being too unintelligent to accept changes. They wanted to change battle system in gen 8
We got Pokken twice, tho

Avatarfags should be skinned and castrated
Because every single game is a retarded toddler's first game, so it needs to be as piss easy and basic as possible in order to teach them how to play.
