At least this Pokémon makes sense. It’s a golden statue made out of money and possessed by a joyful ghost. The fact that it’s humanoid makes sense with its typing. Every RPG has monster like this (just have a look at DQ bestiary).
The humanoid part of him makes more sense than Pokémon like Jinx, Hitmonchan and Hitmonlee, humanoid starters, Bisharp and what so ever (but I like those Pokémon too, so for me it’s not a big deal).

Yeah could be, but my gut feeling is that every time you loot one (single coin or chest), it sets a respawn time based on real world time. I've logged out next to one I just looted and came back the next day and it was back.
