I want a new lost planet. I wanted nothing to do with the western Studios bastardization of the series but very much wanted what they didn't give up on 3DS.
Most of their franchises they aren't using anymore were victims of the 7 year Inafune Curse.

There's a difficulty selection and a very generous magic system, so the game is as hard as you want it to be. But yeah, GnG's reputation probably pushed some people away.

          Anonymous

The default difficulty of the game is the highest difficulty which is pretty much so hard that it's unfair. I bet it was another misled developer thinking hard games are popular now because Dark Souls is popular.

          Anonymous

The point to be made is that Capcom has made a physical edition of everything they've released on Switch in Japan at the very least aside from the Arcade Stadium for obvious reasons, yet conveniently omitted GnG.
Hell, they even got full physical versions of the Legacy Collections WITHOUT it being a shitty DL code, but they still couldn't be arsed to make them a physical GnG cart.

Western companies do it too. We just don't hear about them because western gamers only care about AAA games to begin with. People who like Japanese games are much more aware of low to middle budget IPs like Suikoden or Chrono getting screwed.

Nobody wants them to be saved by "Firthyu baka gaijin piggu". Capcom had Inafune convince them to do just than and it ruined their reputation and almost bankrupted them for 7 years.
People just want them to touch back on their other franchises instead of sticking with the same 3 they only regurgitate. The Userbase for video games has skyrocketed since the last time they ever dared to make a game in any one of their prior franchises. People get excited for basically anything anymore. No reason to not at least test the fricking waters.

It sucks but it makes sense. This isn't the 3rd or 4th gen where 3 guys sharing a single computer can produce 2 top tier games a year. The resources going into a single game is immense.
    >DMC
    >RE
    >SF
    >MonHun
    >And apparently Dragon's Dogma now.
Weird that Megaman isn't there. But the point is you can only work on so much at one time. Sure you could increase personnel to work on more games at once, or loan out IPs to other studios, but that dilutes the talent and you end up with games like DmC. Capcom simply has too many IPs to work on, that's just focusing on the moderate to major successes. It's something most developers have if they've been around for a while. It's even worse at Nintendo.

Capcom is contractually obligated by the Japanese government to staff mentally disabled people like downs syndrome n shit. No one who has a 3 digit IQ works there. None of their decisions are logical or well planned because it is literally moronic people who are incapable of acquiring normal jobs.

You probably deserve to work at Capcom if you enjoy playing their dysfunctional games or believe they are doing something wrong. Just nod your head and smile and think how nice it is that even the mentally challenged can get jobs just like real humans can.

The sad reality is that Mega Man games really don't sell that well.
MM2 is the bestselling MM with 1.51m, and 11 still fell short of that with just 1.5m even WITH actual advertisement.
Of course, it didn't help that 11 barebones, never got any DLC, and asked for $30.

If the way the devs talked about MM11 around its marketing period is any indication, it's not the sales that are the problem with MM but that nobody at Capcom really knows what they want to do with it after Inafune left a gaping vacuum for "person demanding more MM to be made". 11 was basically a bunch of fans within the company saying, yeah, we can do this stuff if we put our mind to it. The silence afterwards is probably the team being drafted to other projects without getting to pitch another sequel... if they even want to make one for a while, as they might fear oversaturating the market like at times in the franchise's past.

I think they've been on a roll for a while now. The only thing I wish they did was be more willing to let their devs come up with new IP's, even if they were just something they're familiar with under a different setting, like Bayonetta. There's Pragmata that seems like it is/went through development hell and who knows what that will be but I'm sure there's a lot of interesting ideas within Capcom that would be perfectly suitable for a one off game, sensible budget, relatively smaller team making everything from scratch.
