What's the best way to play the first TWEWY? I played the original on DS, but I want a refresher before getting into NEO.

DS version is literally the only way to play the first TWEWY properly, the rereleases are butchered dog shit.

      DS, always DS
Then if you want the extra A New Day then play the Switch version OR just watch on Youtube if you have finished on the DS.

Also I'd like to share a well kept secret: the game's natively on PC and has been for ages, just don't tell Sqeenix I disclosed this classified info.

No fucking way! Fuck SE for not promoting the game and failing again for the Steam release they literally fucking shadowdropped it wtf

I sometimes think if it's too schizo to think someone in the SE marketing dept has been with Nomura

It's not. But normies are going the other way and now Rebirth is suddenly getting a lot of attention.

I remember when people used to make fun of his games for being too serious and anime, but serious and anime (especially the Nomura kind) is now being considered the antidote to shitty Marvel writing. 16 is just the first sign of its success (funnier still because Nomura didn't even work on it).

              >I remember when people used to make fun of his games for being too serious and anime
Remember when normies loved 15 because it was the opposite of what Nomura made?

I play TWEWY on my vita right now(android port) and the controls are pretty dumbed down. You just touch mash on the screen to make monsters go away. The superior version is the DS one, even if it has worse graphics than its remasters. The problem is that you gonna need an actual DS console to play this game because TWEWY was made specifically to be played on that console. It doesnt play that well via emulation

It's not really their first rodeo, but the game is indeed outstanding.

The amount of shit the game has been through is just unfair on so many levels, the way SE treated it goes beyond ignorance into sheer malevolence. And the saddest part is it doesn't seem like it'll turn around any time soon. It's a real shame for a game that's so damn good.

I heard this is the true successor to KH2FM. Is this true?

Kinda? It's a very different game in many ways, but it takes a lot from KH2 in its combat design. Key difference is you actually play as a team and dodge best by activating attacks, which switches the controlled team member, which changes the location of your team's hitbox. Imagine if KH2 had Donald mapped to Triangle and pressing it would switch you to controlling him, making Xaldin's combo on Sora do no damage.

Oh do tell. I also hear 7R and XVI take a lot from it but people say NEO is even closer.

Mostly the little things. The feeling of character movement. The hang time on juggles. The speed and impact on projectiles. H.a.n.d developed Re:Coded and it feels like a much smoother version of that in many ways. But at its core it's still super different. I wouldn't go in expecting KH2. Just a familiar feel to combat.

Ah because characters can't jump, you have less spells, etc.

    H.a.n.d developed NEO, not Jupiter.
Jupiter developed the original back when they had RPG vets on staff making the Spectrobes games.
