Why the opinion of a 15 year old holds so much weight on you? Kids are dumb
The funny thing is becoming old enough to realize that in just a few years the same person will wax nostalgic over things from their own extreme youth and then a few years after that will grow old enough to comprehend those things really weren’t special then grow older still to recognize their importance to his own age group but no one else them grow older still and realize it doesn’t matter and he doesn’t really give a shit about any communal sense of nostalgia then grow older still and realize that it just really does not matter at all and the entire conversation isn’t worth having
I've never understood this mentality, I had a guy in class when I was a kid who said he refused to watch movies released before 2003. Even as a kid I just thought that was fucking stupid. Watching cartoons as a kid I had no idea Snow White was fucking old as shit compared to Aladdin, to me they were just cartoons.
For real. The classic looney tunes are still the best cartoons to ever be made.
>For real. The classic looney tunes are still the best cartoons to ever be made.
Chuck Jones made some top tier reaction image material. The way his characters emote is just fucking hilarious.
idk if this is still done, but in the late 2000s, they had looneytunes on at 6am, it was a fun treat for waking early.
Classic mr magoo was the shit
I know people that don't watch or play anything that'd over 10 years old. It's the so called 10-year-old-rule. These motherfuckers will refuse to watch movies like a Interview with the Vampire or play Sillent Hill 1 because of this one stupid rule.
>*Silent Hill 1
I totally get not liking early 3D unless you grew up with it, or are scared of empty hallways. It looked like ass.
Remember that the npc meme is real. As far back as Aristotle we have someone saying that some people are just naturally slaves. Leave them be. They can never be educated out of their conformity to present trends. You might as well teach a dog to read the newspaper.
I watched a lot of black and white movies as old as the 30s when I was a kid.
This. No kid gives a shit how old the classics are. Kids are not even able to grasp the idea of time as like adults. Saying Snow white was released in 1937 or Cinderella in 1950 doesn't mean anything to them. I doubt zoomers cared or even knew that the 90s Disney films weren't recent
Some people are sincerely locked into the "consoom new thing" mindset. And those people are called moroncattle.
it exists on a spectrum. Refusing to watch a move from 1995 is retarded because modern film techniques were set in stone for decades by that point and are essentially unchanged outside of certain special effects to this day. on the other hand I get not wanting to watch essentially an on screen play from the 40s.
>kids born in 2008 are now 14
Im so fucking OLD what the fuck
why does it mean so much to you?
Who cares?
when i was 15, i was discovering i loved FPS (thought i hated them) with Doom.
Zoomers were born in 94-95 depending on the sociologist and end in 05. There is a chance, like with Millennials finally falling clear back to 1980, they will just bump that down to 90-99 and put “gen a” right at 00. Either way, you are likely the zoomer posting this.
Generations should be defined by cultural milestones and the styles of their time rather than the years. Zoomerism begins when your earliest gaming memories were on a console or handheld that was capable of HD graphics.
So 90-99 the biggest thing for them to be aware of would be Obama and gen a 00-09 would be transgenderism with Jenner? Gamergate with Briana Wu? Or would you stretch that out to covid? Covid seems too far out.
A generation is 20-30 years long by definition. Why recent generational definitions have been shortened to 18ish years is beyond me.
They are moving them closer to every 10. The zeitgeist is changing so fast anymore that these hard dividing lines are occurring more often.
Who cares
I just laugh at every generation that can't enjoy games because of shitty visuals
who fucking cares? he is a fucking retard
2016 was nearly 7 years ago anon, he’s got a valid point.
2016 games look identical to new ones.
No they don’t you can tell how dated those games are.
>14-15 year old considers a game that came out when he was 8 "ancient"
A bit of a stretch, but understandable. It came out almost half of his lifetime ago.
No it isnt. He would have been 8 in 2016 so he is calling stuff he grew up with "anchient" which makes no sense. Like a kid in mid 2000s calling the n64 anchient despite likely still having it hooked up, but not played as much.
I remember as a 9 year old playing Commodore 64 in 1996 no problem. The kids today aren't alright.
>be me, growing up with n64 and ocarina of time
>play nes Zelda anyway because the older games oozed soul to me
>younger cousin comes over
>he starts crying because it's not real Zelda
I miss those days
Time passes faster and faster the older you get. From his perspective 2016 really was a long time ago.
don't worry, one day he will feel it too.
this
Time makes fools of us all.
Retro is at least 15 years old, so only 2008 and before.
And you said the same thing about games from 2001, what goes around comes around
I've never said anything like that because it's a purely zoomer mindset. Most games age perfectly fine.
I never felt this way about my games but it did take me a long time before I could appreciate older movies. I think Star Wars was the oldest movie child me could stand. Putting something like Magnificent 7 or the Universal monster movies on would have bored me to tears even ten years ago. Somethings you have to grow into.
Except I didn't. So.
30 year old boomer here, it is only going to get worse
>A child said something, I'm going to rant and cry about it on Ganker instead of not being a gigantic gay
have a nice day. At least that kid is doing shit that he enjoys.
Next year 2016 will have been half his lifetime ago. To him it IS ancient just like anything that came out in 2012 for me
Ive never heard of kids thinking like this, they must be retarded now or something. As a 10 year old i remembered stuff when i was 5 and how that wasn't that long ago and how my entire life was not very long yet.
There are kids nostalgic for Fortnite
>Halo 3 is retro
Why do zoomer retards take everything to the extreme? I didn't say games from 2004 were ancient when I was 15. They should kill themselves.
Literally everything turns to extremism these days. It's hard to find young people anymore who don't see an issue in complete black and white or go all the way to the left or right in politics.
2004 zoomer here, This site is a year older than me.
2010s are retro now, get over it boomer.
>Zoomers are romanticizing South Park and Family Guy like Millennials were with Looney Toons and Tom and Jerry
>Zootopia is 7 years old
Kids are retarded.
More news at 7
7 years is the entire timespan of a kids middle school career
How long until we start hearing people having coronastalgia for the pandemic?
leftists still wear masks at the grocer
but righties are the conspiratards cause they say garden gnomes run the world
>but righties are the conspiratards cause they say garden gnomes run the world
Yes...
>garden gnomes run the world
Stop spitting out facts
>tfw called a local game store last week and asked if they had Dualshock 3s at all
>they said they don't carry retro hardware
>reflect for a moment on how the PS3 is retro for some people
>existential crisis
luckily I didn't need the controller that bad, I had no games to play anyway.
