why couldn't the americans just leave the japs alone

      They wanted to trade
Also this was unironically one of the best things to happen to the japanese for hindreds of years and fast tracked their industrialisation
Honestly it kind of bit the US in the ass, there would be no japanese empire in WW2 if perry hadn't forced them to open up

They had shit we wanted. They wouldnt willingly part with shit we wanted for compensation. We sent guns to force it. This method hasnt changed in several hundred years.
      Also what game

Yeah bro I hate when developers make a new game. I want Old Game Volume 7

It's directed by Fumihiko Yasuda, who directed both Nioh 1 and 2. I was already interested in the game because I saw the odachi, the flaming dual katanas and the spear at the end, and I wanted to play that shit like I did with Nioh games. But then I went and read up about the game and learned that Yasuda is directing it. And my already high interest in the game further skyrocketed.

I still don't know who is directing Wo Long though.

I fricking laughed so much when that shinobi guy pulled a revolver at the end, it's like a game based on the "parry this you casual" meme, kinda also reminded me of Isshin.

But honestly I was looking forward to it until it said PS5 exclusive, then I realised that shit isn't worth a drop of sweat from my balls.

Euros were getting their filthy paws dirty in china and grabbing land all over east Asia.

Perry also wanted America to colonize Formosa (Taiwan) but the US government ignored him.

Japan had rather robust silver mines
They also had a lot of artisan products you couldn't really get anywhere else
Japanese culture else became extremely popular among the american middle and upper class
The first weebs were aeound 1880-1910
It wasn't uncommon for an american businessman to pressure his wife in to wearing kimonos around the house
