About to play this for the first time. Can anyone recommend an easymode, OP, retard-proof build?

About to play this for the first time. Can anyone recommend an easymode, OP, moron-proof build? I always suck at these types of games, but I want to give Deus Ex a try anyway since I've heard so much about it.

These are bait right? People can't really be scared of failing in a videogame and losing 15 minutes of progress... right?!

When you start the game, untrain pistol, train hacking just once, and it will be automatically retrained while still giving you extra XP. Pick GEP gun when Paul's offers you. Crouch behind enemies right up against them (making physical contact doesn't immediately alert them), stand up, stab them around the nape, and they'll die instantly. Don't meet the speed aug canister in the safe in Osgood's & Son's.

Thanks. The rifle skill is pretty good for sniping too right?

Basically mandatory, you'll want at least advanced level + a few accuracy mods on your rifle, and you probably won't have the XP necessary for that until a few levels in.

Should add that sniper ammo is scarce, add the laser mod to your pistol without applying the scope mod, and it gives your pistol perfect accuracy for medium-range sniping of most human enemies.

you can snipe with a shotgun too for keks. it's shorter range and less accurate but there's very few areas where you can abuse the super long range of a sniper rifle anyway. there's few places where you even hit the maximum range of the basic pistol. the stats of guns here are "realistic" like IRL. Handguns IRL can hit things as far as 600 metres away, but you probably won't see the target w/o a scope and the accuracy will be shit.

is the shotgun better than the assault rifle? i was upgrading it all game but it started to feel kinda weak tbh, i mean obviously the enemies get stronger but the sniper rifle never fell off

Deus Ex isn't really that hard so you're not totally screwed if you put a level in something that doesn't pan out

    1. Don't level up Hacking or Lockpicking. Use the glitch exploit instead.

    2. Don't level up Swimming more than once, if at all.

    3. Do whatever you want beyond that. Seriously, it's not a hard game.

    4. Select the GEP Gun when prompted.

You can't really screw yourself over. Some of the skills are pretty useless while others are very useful, but it's basically obvious which ones are which. And even if you pick the useless ones, you shouldn't have that much trouble anyway.

      >1. Don't level up Hacking or Lockpicking. Use the glitch exploit instead.
      You didn't beat the game.

To knock someone out with a sneak melee attack you have to hit them in their lower back on their spine, hitting them in the back of the head doesn’t work.

A silenced gun or the crossbow are some of the most useful tools, but not for direct combat. These weapons dont make noise when they shoot, but the bullets/arrows make noise when they hit hard surfaces. Use this and you can much more easily distract guards into looking away from you or where you want to sneak to.

      >Don't level up Swimming more than once, if at all.
Is swimming really unnecessary? I’ve only beaten the game once but swim came in handy multiple occasions. Were there a bunch of air breathers or something that I just missed?

Like him I've never seen the point in having more than a single level in it. It helps you get around Hong Kong and there's like a single aug canister that requires good swim skill or a rebreather to get to; that's all I can think of.

Without taking damage. Just take the damage bro, food, booze and medkits are plentiful.

in the early parts distract enemies with darts/knives/silent pistol for easy takedowns, amass 10mm ammo, train pistol and start blasting

Explosives are lockpicks, stockpile them instead of leveling your Lockpicking for as long as you can get away with.

There's a melee sweetspot right above the center of the ass on all human enemies. The basic baton you find on the first corpse can knock most humans out in a single strike silently by doing this. This sweetspot does not move when the enemy is sitting, so a sitting guard should be hit in the back of the head to hit the same sweetspot.

      >There's a melee sweetspot right above the center of the ass on all human enemies.
just kill them with the DTS once you find it on HK.

for MJ12 Commandos though, a baton won't be enough for that belt weakpoint? you need the cowprod. but for max safety, you should just blow up MJ12 with LAMs and other explosive weapons. Explosives are the best silent takedowna and just like safe sex!

When Paul tells you to leave him to die, you will count as having left him to die if you leave through the window, no matter how you dealt with the problem.

It literally has built in save states if you cant beat it you fricking suck. Game is all about experimentation anyway so playing it on moron mode would ruin it and leave no room for trying things out.

I never think about a 'build' when I play this I just allocate points when I need them
