By every metric LOTF should be outperforming Lies of P by a lot in terms of player count. But it isn’t. and with good reason
Lies of P also received a shit ton of positive publicity after LOTF's release since on most gaming spaces people have been comparing those two and not in LOTF's favour. I can only see the gap growing wider once the Monstro DLC is released.
Lies of P will destroy your anus with certain enemies and bosses. It's by far one of the hardest "soulslikes" out there
In LOTF i was literally falling asleep midway. Bosses are incredibly primitive and normal enemies are braindead. The second you realise that you can shit on their repetitive ranged ganks with your own ranged options the difficulty goes down the shitter entirely. And then you get sources of HP and mana regeneration that turn it into one of the most braindead soulslikes out there.
You should try actually playing them instead of getting your opinions from Ganker, you'd be surprised at how easy Lords is compared to P.

Even if he just got his opinions from Ganker it's clear that Lies of P is harder. Ganker was shittershattered over every single boss in that game, I don't think I've seen anyone here complain about any boss in Lords of the Fallen except to say they're too easy.

Cherrypicked webms meant to show the game was bad, too.
I feel like it's typical of Souls-like threads, though. Wasn't there someone who used to post the Smough's armor vs Artorias webm whenever someone said Dark Souls was difficult?
unironically. tried to play Elden Ring again and do a dex/faith build but it felt so slow and shit that I instead decided to go back to LOTF and finish all the rest of the endings I have left.
The ability to smoothly switch from melee to range is also great. I've been running around with Dervla's sword and crossbow, and dodging attacks before hitting with a bunch of bolts feels great.
reminder latest Lies of P patch fixed the shield bug so you can no longer abuse it for bosses, so GIT GUD
I saw that they apparrently made the "roll after getting knocked down" ability a default thing, which is nice. Those shovel robots shouldn't be an issue now.

Yeah, that was a big gripe I had with the game. People complain about DaS2's adaptability messing with dodges, but something like the ability to roll out of a knockdown shouldn't be locked in a Souls game.

>Mah game that I like is selling more than yours!!!
Fucking retards each and everyone of you.
LOTF is a 5/10 game that could be a 7/10 if devs were competent (one of their patches made a certain optional boss impossible to trigger, a secret area causes Ps5 to hard-crash 100% of the time if you actually look at it (staring at ground means it usually won’t crash), until most recent patch you could softlock your character by picking up too many items. Essential key items would get deleted with zero fail safes. They did a “balance patch” to adjust overpowered boss weapons, but didn’t actually change any stats, they just un-upgraded your boss weapons if you had any. So haha the limited upgrade mats (literally only 4 +10 stones per playthrough) are just gone now, hooray for balance (everyone just duped more stones and kept using same weapons).
The devs clearly have no idea wtf they are doing. Read the patch notes and community posts. It’s clear they are in constant panic mode and every statement is “it’s ok it’s ok it’s ok, we fixed the problem, everything is gonna be just fine, please come back, we know it’s been rough but issues are fixed now, and ones that arnt will be fixed next patch, we promise…..in light we walk 😉 “.

those were shill threads made by devs. They were talking about lore concepts that wernt even in the trailers, and making super lame “safe Ganker” jokes. It couldn’t have been more obvious.
The new Lords of the Fallen must be pretty good given how hard Ganker shits on it; reminds me of how hated Elden Ring is here.
That said I couldn't play Lords because my aging 1060 3gb doesn't run UE5 games (couldn't run Remnant 2 either) and I plan to wait another year before replacing it so I won't play it in the near future
It’s good in the sense that’s it’s better than most current action game outings and is probably the best Dark Souls clone to ever exist. That’s why it had more steam payers than Penis game. However the issue is that compared to LoP it feels like fucking amateur hour. It’s the embodiment of corporate hacks doing the “souls games are know to be hard” meme. I feel bad for the art and level design guys because they don’t deserve this. LoTF should have easily cleared the roll slop from Korea and instead it just highlighted how good LoP was.
>and is probably the best Dark Souls clone to ever exist
Don't make me laugh. We had Salt and Sanctuary with its insane world design which is probably the closest you will ever get to DS1 experience, and also Hellpoint which is around as janky as LOTF but with an incredible interconnected world too.
>How does combat feel in lords of the fallen?
Like ass.
Worst thing about the game is how bland the umbral world and overall level design is. Seemed like a cool idea but it's just a retarded forced gimmick to force you to backtrack and make it seem you're not backtracking.
>umbral >gimmick
I only played for 10 hour but until now it's always been either an integral part of the level design to advance in an area or offered secret paths/puzzles that rewarded me with items or equipment
Awful. The player is skating around on most animations because they gave almost every moveset an insane amount of forward momentum. This makes unlocked play almost impossible because you can easily slide off a cliff. Enemy animations are somehow worse than lotf 2014, they are janky as fuck. The combat feedback is shit all around, starting with the pitiful sound of a perfect block compared to a meaty "clang" in LoP.
More importantly, all LOTF movesets within a weapon class are the same whereas in LoP you had like 40 normal and 10 boss weapons with a shit ton of unique animations.
A single weapon type in Nioh has more moves than all lotf weapons COMBINED and you slowly unlock them as you play the game
Nioh games are well liked enough to cross 5m sales mark despite being their own brand of ARPG combat so fuck off back to your contrarian cuck shed.

There's something about Nioh that completely mindbreaks certain people despite the fact a shit load of people enjoy both Nioh and Souls games.
I don't know if it's some weird form of Stockholm Syndrome, but I start to miss the lunges in LotF whenever I play other Souls-likes. I keep forgetting that I don't fly forward six feet when I R1 with a greatsword.
Falling off because of this also seems to be an overblown issue, but that might just be because I'm used to it. I regularly clear out all of Pilgrim's Perch without issue.
