Just started playing this and it kicks MAJOR ass. It's like a futuristic sci-fi anime that you get play.
Has anyone here played this? It got fan-translated a few months ago.

AC is aggressively boring. Just play Panzer Dragoon
Yeah it's a fantastic game.
have a nice day, scalie.
Enjoy your hitstun, anime soap opera and war propaganda
Already enjoyed it decades ago and had fun with it.
Enjoy your shitty bargain-bin starfox game.
>war propaganda
ah so your problem is so.ylent overdose
that stuff actually tastes pretty nasty
>war propaganda
Fuck off pussy that's a good thing, read Anabasis (Dakyns translation) so you can learn the error of your ways.
First post abhorrent post, not even the same genre
Is it really anime-ish? It's the only one I haven't played apart from 1, Zero and those weird Assault Horizon games. If AC4 was my favourite would you recommend the NTSC version of 3?
It's takes after sci-fi as well as real world concepts but with anime characters, similar to the GITS movie.
Play the translated JP version of 3. The western port is neat in its own way but it's missing a lot of content.
3 specifically has animated cutscenes and visual novel type segments.
Play Zero anon, it's a top 3 AC game.
>heh I like war
I know that's not true because you would've been in one right now, there's multiple on, pick one. Go on lad be a "man"
>Go on lad be a "man"
Something you'll never be.
When you talk about a "man", you don't even know what the fuck you're talking about.
>Is it really anime-ish?
Yes, it is, from the animation style to the writing itself.
Wow that brings me way back. If you fly up really high you see some sort of "electrospere" grid lines. Really well done
I prefer AC2 as it controls better
pretty much ALL the early ace combat games are great ill give 3 a replay its been decades since i rented them in the blockbuster era
>a few months ago
2020 was 3 years ago dude. Also I hated it the controls sucked ass compared to AC2
the soundtrack is so fucking good. i dont get why its not as recommended as ridge racer 4.
I started Air Combat last night. I only did the first 4 missions and I'm enjoying it. It's not blowing me away but I'm having a good time. But it is making me wanna hurry and get into the sequels as I feel I might enjoy them more. How long are these games typically?
You can beat the first 2 games in under an hour each.
Why do you feel like you NEED to complete the first games before playing the ones you are actually interested in?
The first 2 can be finished quickly like the other anon said, from 3 onwards there are a lot more missions to play.
I've played Ace Combat 1,2, and 3 all for the first time earlier this year. Enjoyed all of them. Took a bit to get acclimated to the controls but once I had a handle on it wasn't too bad. 3 is easily the best looking but pretty much everything else gamewise I enjoyed more in AC2. For an early Playstation title AC1 is actually a lot of fun as well.
