>Thats a paraphrase of what you’re about to say.
that's what people complained about, though. you only get a vague idea instead of the actual line, and if you interpret what you're going to say wrong you might pick an option you didn't mean to. the full line is better but then it's annoying to read it and then hear it said back again if it's voiced
It's amazing how easy it is to spot people who never played the game and only ever know of it from memes posted on Ganker. The pseudo-mass effect style dialog option wheel oversimplified the summary of what you'll say, but there's actual dialog there. The character doesn't just say HATE NEWSPAPER.
Know what game would actually have that as a line of dialog? An Obsidian game. Then you'd be clapping like autistic seals because "UNF HECKIN BASED THEY ADDED A SILLY PHRASE FOR MUH LOW INT RETARD CHARACTER I WANT TO HAVE SAWYER'S BABIES!!!!"
Bg3 has a narrator and its a brilliant idea (for that game). She’s really good, and the game wouldn’t be the same totally silent. Its halfway between voiced and unvoiced. Plus, your character does say a ton of shit just walking around, which is great. Fuck silent protags, they’re dated.
>Yeah, and Fallout 4 turned out to have the best protagonist of all Bethesda games, lol
It's a role playing game, you fucking idiot. The protagonist is your imagination. Giving the player a voice not only destroyed roleplaying and replayability, it gutted all of the dialogue because there were so few choices.
>could've had a voiced character >self-insert autists who want their lispy homosexual voice (just kidding they play as females and imagine some cartoon or anime character's voice instead) to be the voice of the character shit their pants >downgrade experience for them
A bethesda silent protag is shit because the dialogue is shit. Having a voiced protagonist in FO4 was enough to make them put some effort into making their garbage dialogue sound like something that could realistically exit a real life human's mouth. In starfield you just need to look at the dumb shit like the romance options or the abundance of "what's a colony war?"
Todd Howard said after Fallout 4 that a voiceless protagonist was a mistake, but it’s clear they almost weren’t going to learn from it. That sort of mindset permeates through Starfield’s design as a whole, of mistakes or past features Bethesda didn’t learn from.
All the fags defending voiced protags should neck themselves. They're all either intentionally being disingenuous or are zoomer retards who aren't even sentient humans.

CRPG homosexuals are the worst scum ever
they defend any dogshit plot and worldbuilding the important is they can chocies their dialogues that matter nothing.
150,000 unique downloads of silent protagonist mods for Fallout 4 (there's more than one, different ones using different implementation techniques) so I added them together.
Only 1700 unique downloads of the only silent protag mod for Cyberpunk 2077.
What does it mean? It should be nearly the same, since both games are aimed at the same demographic, right?
voiced protaganists in these games is a stupid idea
you the player are already reading the different dialogue options, you don't need to waste time/money on a voice actor to reread/paraphrase every selectable option
Good.
I like him but voiced protags have no place in bethesha games, fallout 4 was a mistake
Fo4 actually has fun interesting and interactive dialogue. Every other is a lecture simulator. Boring.
>hate newspapers
>fun interesting and interactive dialogue
you do realize that the voiced protagonist says more than those two words? when in starfield literally all you get is hate newspapers
Nobody says Hate newspapers. Thats a paraphrase of what you’re about to say.

last time beth had a voiced protag all of the self-insert incels had a nuclear meltdown
Yeah, and Fallout 4 turned out to have the best protagonist of all Bethesda games, lol
Fuck you and your silent shitters. your time is long past
>your time is long past
>BG3 sold tens of millions
has there ever been a game on bg3 quality that appeals to nerds?
last one was ss13, its been fucking decades man

THE BEST CHARACTERS OF RPG ARE ALL REAL PROTAGONIST.
THE WITCHER, PLANESCAPE
IS NEVER YOU
look pathfinder and baldur gate 3, when you are the protagonist the game is always garbage in the plot.
All fallout games more or less have a set protag. The character is far more static and defined than a tes protag.
Don't waste your time, dude is probably one of those idiots that don't have an internal monologue
He's still voicing one of the crew members.

I HATE NEWSPAPERS
So Starfield derangement syndrome is now so bad people defend voice protagonist just to shit on it? It was only a matter of time I guess.
I’ve been defending the voiced protag choice of fo4 since it released. At least as Nora, fuck Nate, he sucked, but Nora was perfect.

Good. Voiced protagonist in beth games is doodoo.

If you think Bethesda games are improved by a voiced protagonist you have zero standards
you ahve 0 standard
>but muh
a game like starfield could had improve a lot
WHY?
SAM COE
HIS VOICE IS PERFECT IMAGINE AN ALL GAME SPOKE BY HIM
Guys like you helped ruin bethesda games. You’re part of the reason starfield failed. Good job.
HATE NEWSPAPER
Can we shut up about Space Daggerfall please?
