Meh, it's the REmake4 to RE4. It's DD1 running on the RE engine with some new features, some downgrades and those annoying fricking swimmy controls where the player character has too much inertia

not at all. dd2 is just a shittier gimped version of dd1. it's not worth anybody's time.

        Anonymous

For every minor improvement dd2 makes, dd1 did something else better. But the worst fact is that dd2 is not even fresh and if you played the first one you played 99% of dd2. Is the game gonna excite me about learning how to fight the same big enemies again? I've killed them countless times in dd1.

          Anonymous

No. If it hasn't been a while since you played DD1 then wait until DD2 gets its BBI tier DLC before getting it.
DD2 really is remake-tier with a bigger world and slightly better combat. For example, the Chimera is stronger in DD2 than DD1 but it's still a Chimera. Same goes for Drakes.

            Anonymous

it's at the point where "runs" becomes a subjective concept, I've got it locked to 30 and that doesn't drop outside of towns if you turn literally everything to low/off except image quality to mid and anti-aliasing TAA and that doesn't look *too* bad

turn even that off in the city and it looks like

            potatoBlack folk how we copin?

and still drops to about 20fps lmao, if you turn on dynamic resolution you lose about half your frames for some reason

I'm still having fun with it but the game definitely has a lot of flaws
    >big world filled with hidden loot everywhere but most of it is either garbage for crafting or equipment you can buy in the city
    >monsters almost never try to throw you off when you climb them
    >very poor enemy variety, you will be fighting goblins until the end of the game
    >boring sidequests where you sometimes have to AFK in one spot to wait for 15 minutes until an npc starts moving
    >all caves you find are short, have piss poor loot in them and are mostly only filled with basic enemies, so far I have only found one cool cave with a sleeping Chimera and a Lich
    >game feels waaay too easy compared to the first game
Really hoping it will get better after I leave for the desert zone

      Is loot still randomized?

      >poor loot
This was a general complaint on Sekiro, a game which I loved.

I think having trash loot in general is good as long as you can sell it for decent gold. It makes the truly useful ones stand out more. DD2 also has expensive items on store so it balances it out.

        Anonymous

You can't compare DD2 to Sekiro when the latter has no equipment to find, only consumables and upgrade materials
games like DD2 and Elden Ring suffer from the exact same things, a giant world with tons of loot but not enough equipment to make getting the loot interesting
Finding a unique pair of pants at the end of a dungeon is cool, finding a wakestone shard #68 is boring

          Anonymous

In elden ring you can get the equipment some enemies wear though. And the dungeons give you good loot too

            Anonymous

Yeah, enemies dropping their gear definitelly makes the game more enjoyable, sadly DD2 doesn't have that

            Anonymous

elden ring has the opposite extreme issue where you feel forced to do all of the rehashed lame content because the rewards behind it are too valuable.

the core problem is simply that open world games are bad.

But I thought the microtransactions in DD2 didn't have an impact on the design of the game since you could get it just by playing? Why are Capcom making it so that the character edit item is easier to get? The MTX don't affect the design of DD2 everyone told me so

      Is archery actually fun?

        Anonymous

Archery is pretty fun. Given the requirement to use the bow with no dagger support, you handle combat at a distance but much faster than mage.
Still, magick archer is superior but it is a pain to get. You can get it as soon as you reach Bhattal, however I got it just mucking about and ignoring quests. Good fricking luck stumbling unto that side quest like I did.

        Anonymous

It was awkward at first because aiming with bow isn't the TPS setup it was in DD1. The inital skills may seem weak and like you're not doing much, but once you unlock the advanced skills and the ability to use the different flavors of arrow you'll feel so much stronger. In my case I have this compulsary habit of getting into the face of everything I fight so I dropkick everything and parting shot and curbstomp people because I can.

          Anonymous

It was so weird that your normal attack is now auto aim.
You could manually target enemies, but that too is slighty different than DD1.
Had to get used to it

            Anonymous

Yeah there's definitely an adjustment period, and barrage shot feels nowhere as good as Fivefold did until you get its advanced version down the line. I'll say this, I'm glad explosive arrows aren't so heavy and you're expected to use them more, but goddamn crafting and procuring arrows is a right b***h when everything else is so damned expensive.

most of them are literally just oblivion style caves, some of them are way fricking longer than they need to be (the goblin one near the capital is a labyrinth filled with pointless goblins and a bit of loot) I've seen about 5 different delves/dungeons in my 10 hours
