Bros, it's time... the 3rd worlders are finally converting to *our game* because of regional pricing adjustments
We are now at 17k players and when factoring game pass it's at least as much as Age of Empires 2
With DLC we will surpass the boomers completely

Any specific news about the DLC?
nothing other than it being clear they are working on dlc
forgotten empires has job listings for aoe4
Is a DLC really what they should be working on? Does AOE4 still have several missing features? Or will they add them (if any) with the DLC? Genuine question.
What missing features
I asked a question. I haven't played AOE4 a lot, but it has a bad reputation, hance my question.
Are you saying the game is complete and balanced?
Are you illiterate?
I asked an honest, open, genuine question. What's your problem?
>only 8 civs
>Is a DLC really what they should be working on?
yes
>tfw no price change for me
That's an impressive increase, tho. The game's biggest flaw was too high a price tag for the average /vst/ cheapskate.
>tfw no price change for me
Just wait a bit. Those Taiwanese 8 buck keys are already getting stocked up on various Russian CD Key sites where they'll suddenly be able to undercut the Steam price no matter how low the official one goes.
And there's absolutely nothing in AoE4 worth doing right now instead of a year later when those prices do drop for those without VPNs.
>click unit
>it actually clicks entirely different unit cause the hitboxes are so bad
>move unit
>full half second before they change direction
Pfffffthahahahahahaha
Yoy forgot the exceptionally ugly cursor that goes along with the annoying unit selection experience
>full half second before they change direction
Completely unacceptable.
Well, unless you are trash who doesn't really know how to play RTS, this really is completely unacceptable.
So how's the game for competetive multiplayer?
Played only some SC2, and bit of AoE2 and WC3 but got turned off by the build order autism and how most fights just boiled to doing same shit over and over, with no actual strategy involved. Just doing "meta" stuff you read up and then repeated like a monkey.
It's quite decent, I play team games almost exclusively and manage to be around top ~500 without any major build order autism
You still need a general plan for your early game though, but it's not following a script like AoE2 because it tends to be more dynamic and it's not so punishing to make mistakes
If it's 1v1 then you need a little more build order autism
>So how's the game for competetive multiplayer?
Abysmal. Stick with 2.
trash opinion
go drink your monster zero ultra, boomer
AoE4 has no redeeming qualities. It doesn't have the intense symmetry or limited gold of 2, nor the nuanced tech trees or base-building mechanics. It's another failure for the Age franchise, caused by Microsoft failing to learn its lesson.
Limited gold is not a good thing.
this
>intense symmetry
a very awful quality
good riddance
>a very awful quality
You can't even appreciate the simple beauty of mindgames.
yes, i can, and it's unrelated to asymmetry, which is far superior to symmetry in game design
>yes, i can, and it's unrelated to asymmetry
Good luck managing an intense back-and-forth when the other player can't guess what's going on with your kit.
Don't let your gold units die, scrub.
Why the hell would a game have limitted gold in 1v1, but infinite gold in team games? It's a flaw everyone is used to.
>Why the hell would a game have limitted gold in 1v1, but infinite gold in team games?
Because in 1v1, you can use the threat of a trash war as part of your civ's win condition (Bulgarians, Byzantines, Malians). In Team games, civ choice takes a backseat, and offense has much more potential to be devastating.
You're just making excuses. I get it, it's your favourite game, it's more than 20 years old, but try to look at it objectively. Do you really think that's what the developpers were going for, or do you think that's just how our view of the game developped to get around this flaw? Seriously, why would the devs be like "trash wars should be a thing in 1v1 but not team games"?
Pretty good, team games are awesome
I ain't buying until they release Byzantine.
i will play Delhi and go 1-1-1 with efficient production every game
>our game
what
dlc reveal coming at gamescom
you need to be over 18 to post here
>dlc reveal coming at gamescom
You don't know that.
Fricking water rebalance WHEN?
I don't? shut up bich they released a puzzle that solves to "gamecom" as well as 3 emojis hinting at new civs
How do those emojis hint at new civs?
babby needs spoonfeeding?
the icons are a caesar cipher and translate directly to gamescom by shifting the first letter of each unit by 13
so that only leaves the emojis to decipher, right?
now what would make the most sense at gamescom? if aoe4 is at gamescom what the frick do you think we are getting but civs? what else would it be?
so about the emojis... boat + fire... well there's this civ that makes me thing of that people have been asking for and it starts with a B..
I'll leave you to figure that one out
As if you deciphered it yourself. I didn't even ask about the icons. Go frick yourself.
