>Every multiplat was better outside ps2.
Not true, some games benefitted from the PS2's controller design. Games like Tony Hawk and SSX had tricks and control options removed on consoles without 4 shoulder buttons.
>play the gamecube version with better load times >it's a snoozefest purely from the level design and crash's animations being way too slow for no reason
>crash's animations being way too slow for no reason
This is the reason why it sucks. Shit runs like a 0.75 speed, the stages feel longer just due this and they're kind of long in reality but then they feel like a chore.
is there a word for something that's clearly soulless, but also has soul in a contemporary way?
like it's empty soulless shit, but it has a charm that modern art doesn't achieve
I don't know if there's a better word than just calling it nostalgia. The way you describe it though, reminds me of vaporwave aesthetic, since that was basically borne out of the genuine appreciation for what was once, in a different era, thoughtlessly/cynically cheesy art design in corporate products and advertising.
This is one of those "somebody cared" kind of games where someone clearly tried harder than the budget, production, or rest of the team allowed for.
Like I know people even making the worst shovelware games probably cared at least a little bit about a good job, but games like WoC you can definitely tell that someone REALLY tried.
no no it went like this

Don't know what Forma TFB means, but for me the "completionist" goals are not really meant to be played in one playthrough, but progressively over years. People who try to do it all at once are doing it wrong, it's meant to be the kind of thing you come back to years later and still have more to do instead of having to start a new save file like most games.
Nah Crash games aren't supposed to be played over years, I'd give it 2 months, which is how much time I needed to finish the N-sane Trilogy, this game long ass levels, shitty box placements, no death requirement are just stupid
wraith of cortex was great
also the GBA games were kino as frick
had pic growing up and it was great, bought it at Circuit City and I remember tearing open the box
>wraith was kino >titans was kino >mind over mutant was kino
Replayed it a while ago and honestly I think it's better than Warped. But it was seen as a Warped+ when it came out.
It's pretty damn good. Cortex Strikes back is the best, this is a 2nd to it. Could be as good if the boss fights were not pathetic. The crazy good music uplifts the game a lot too.
Really would have benefitted being a part of the N Sane Trilogy, possibly as an expansion DLC
Even the remake physics would have been a big upgrade. I still love the game though.
>Sony Computer Entertainment American Presents... >A Universal Interactive Studios Production... >Whole game created and developed by Naughty Doggg.... >Crash Bandicoot WAAAARPEDDD!!!!!!!! >Press Start To Begin...
I played the original trilogy (and CTR/Crash Bash) as a kid and was a huge Crash fan, and this is the game that killed the series for me. Those load times were just too long.
Still fap to some primo bandicoochie though.

The argument was about performance.
just sayin'
The weather of my cortex
>play the gamecube version with better load times

Also, gamecube is the worst looking version, and it runs at half the framerate, I think?
>crash's animations being way too slow for no reason

like most other non-lego traveler's tales games, this game kind of sucked but it also had SOUL

Volcano time trials were hard
While 3 was clearly superior this one was still fun and I enjoyed doing it 100%
NOOOO YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO LIKE IT
THERE ARE ROLLING LEVELS
I have no drive to finish Crash 4 (Forma TFB), the 100% is just fricking stupid, what to do?
Don't know what Forma TFB means, but for me the "completionist" goals are not really meant to be played in one playthrough, but progressively over years. The storm mask gave me at least two dozen game overs. Nothing else was that bad. The fire ball run was kinda ass but nowhere near as ass.
That shit railroaded me as a kid, I had no idea what to do and gave up. Granted I was like 6.
Underrated ost

Comfy kino
Why is it so grim at the start? Actually a bit unnerving
My brother wrote "crash bandicoot AND the wrath of cortex" on the memory card and I gave him shit for it because I was autistic.
wraith of cortex was great
also the GBA games were kino as frick

Oh no. look at crash's hand on the left. I guess we know what the N stands for.

I was so disappointed, mostly for the infinite loading sometimes interrupted by short levels

CTR and CNK were both kino despite CNK not having good physics, it's intro, music, themes and aesthetic were all very very good
CNK intro has to be the best crash Intro honestly
CNK honestly isn't that bad I really don't get why people hate it so much
Nobody hated CNK? If anything it's just underrated and never talked about
