No clue, most XIV players just idle in hubs. Endwalker simplified a lot of previous grinds for these types of people, and Yoshida wears these higher completion rates like a badge of honor, so maybe that's it.
Yeah I don't get why they do it. They log in and immediately alt tab out. I guess they use it as a chat box? Hoping someone DMs them. I saw people in my guild do this every day for years.
Its literally nothing
That website is a fucking fraud that admits they just guess what they think the population is based on how much Reddit talks about it.
That site should be fucking shut down. It was reporting Wildstar and Maplestory 2 as having "health" populations for years after the games literally had their servers offline.
FF14 took a devils bargain welcoming in players padding their former game's competition out of spite. Now they're gone. The growth never was real it's the equivalent of anti votes in an election. The whole mmo model has to collapse when metrics are actually bragged about in this kind of format.
all completely made up numbers
none of them release player data
the only one you could try and guess is runescape considering they list concurrent players
I don't get it
XIV was a better game when it had 300-500k average players.
i have never played an mmo but how does xiv have a 10 in activity score but wow classic only has a 7 with somewhat similar statistics

I imagine it has to do with active vs total. WoW numbers are really bad when you consider how many people they failed to retain.
What the hell is an activity score?
Active players vs number of accounts, duh.

>still playing MMOs in 2023
I'm surprised retail WoW beat out classic.
The only thing classic has going for it is that it's fans are the most vocal and autistic.
The only thing? Obviously it's worth for them to keep it running with those number. 80% of retail numbers isn't nothing.
Because that data is made up, no one knows how many players WoW has except for Blizzard.
AHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Those numbers are guesses, it lists dead MMO's as active.
Fucking kek at the BG3 estimation.

platforms besides steam exist tbh ne
I'm sure there are 3 million people playing BG3 on their ps5 rn
And 650k on GOG
Why do they consider BG3 a mmo?

You are aware those number are entirely made up from thin air, right?
source trust me bro
MMORPG players are the Jannies of the gaming world
MMO players make more money than any other type of gamer though, they don't do it for free.

As far as scams go you have to give Bungie credit for keeping this one alive for a decade
