I would, if the cocksuckers would stop gating new zones behind the story and let me explore wherever I want right out the gate. I need access to all the new materials ASAP to squeeze my traditional ~600m from the playerbase, and since working the markets is my favorite part of the game that means the CSes will have to wait until I view them in the book after the gold rush is over.
Actually fucking have a nice day.
If the game fails this test of rushing ahead and has nothing offer beyond "Taking your time" then it's flawed and shit.
Dumb homosexual. The day they ban cheaters in PvP or come out with content that isn't Disingenuous in how it rewards players will never come at this rate thanks to shit eating pussies like you.
I did it when EW dropped. They buffed the amount of xp form dungeons and just did like 10 a day had it done in like 2-3 weeks? plus DR's ofc. Its easy when its only 10 lvl's

Bullshit, Lyse did all kinds of stuff for the Resistance and stepped up when they'd had most of their existing leadership killed off. Her being her dad's daughter was fortunate, yes, but she absolutely had been out there putting in work and she can kick really high, which is an important quality in a female leader.
This is the real killer. Summer technically extends into the first week or so of September and I fully expect SE to push their summer '24 release window as far as they possibly can. And that's assuming zero delays. I see a lot of people speculating June/July as the release date but I don't buy it. We're in for a long 10 months.
xiv got too simplified with shadowbringers job changes. stormblood had changes but classes were still fun, engaging and unique
yoshitpiss ruined the game and now its filled with tranny catgirl cock modders
Lyse is great because she went off to fuck around for a while and when she came back in the garlemald arc is was refreshing. send graha tia and alisaie to some fuckoff place for a pew more patches.
It doesn't need to contain trannies to be a tranny game, it just needs to appeal to trannies and have a tranny fanbase, both of which are true.
Aside from that, picrel.

lol his side-story on the website says his body was a normal garlean and his wife was also a normal garlean, what happened was his soul counted more for having kids than his actual body's DNA did so varis's dad, varis, and zenos all came out part ancient
Good, although I want the raid to be entirely Promathia focused so we can get not-Prishe and go to the absolute kino that is Al'Taieu and then eventually the Empyreal Paradox
The game needs to stop shoving the interesting characters to the side the moment their expansion is over while forcing the same boring scions on us over and over.
>New expansion doesn't expand on Meracydia or the other reflections >Just a 'le zoomer mental health adventure on a random island' expansion for another 3 years
Coming on Endwalker, I feel like I missed the adventure and showed up to the after party

Well i hope you enjoy finding out thirdhand from a Ganker thread instead of experiencing the big reveal in game. Please look forward to it.
I only watch the teaser/final trailer and job action trailers. People who watch the actual expac trailer that drops a week or so before release (and people who watch patch trailers in general) are weird as fuck and intentionally spoil themselves for no reason
>Viper >Another dual wielding class that was "highly demanded" (there was 0 demand for it, only corsair) >It completely lacks any semblance of a theme, it just swings swords around and tapes them together for 60s burst >By far the most unoriginal and boring looking job they've ever added
>If the community had its way, the only jobs you'd ever see would be some colour of mage.
Thats how CBU3 designs jobs already. Red DPS, Green DPS and Blue DPS with sprinkles in the shape of different weapons. Are you blaming the devs shit effort on the players?
How will they even do a Stormblood MSQ Ultimate when the story is so stupid? With DSR they were able to celebrate Heavensward's story while also playing into fan's expectations and thoughts
Galemald thematic Zenos, Varis and maybe Gaius van Baelsar, Fordola and Asahi with Shinryu on later phases.
With those it is bound a phase will be dual boss, and hopefully Yotsuyu will have a cameo alla DSR Haurchefant/Ultima awaking primals, having to resolve in a way to unlock last phase.
>Skip the MSQ and go directly to Eden >Four lords instead of MSQ >The non-omega content from the raid series >Some sort of DSR style alternate timeline that gets real wacky >Make it a full on Zenos ultimate that pulls everything from shb and ew as well as sb
Ilberd being the first phase of an ultimate is just too cool to pass up but at the same time the only other interesting things you could add would be dungeon zenos then shinryu which is, well, eh besides crossing the tail. I think the best option is sadly to skip over it and do something else, it's just not very cohesive.
Part of me actually wants a third ultimate now that the .5 patch lasts so fucking long, if we're going to sit here for 8+ months then yeah fuck it drop another one on us. Another thing is that as we move forward they open up more options for ultimates, trial series, side quests, hell even alliance raids and whatnot could be used.
Tea is extremely boring while both DSR and TOP are interesting all the way through. The only cool part of TEA is the final phase cutscene and codex which was cheated anyway.
DSR on a tank is probably the most nerve wracking thing you can do in this game, you have so many things that you are responsible for and can't fuck up. In TEA the most you have to do is BJCC which at this point is so optimized you just rotate around the center and keep the bosses stacked.
Just rid of Ultimates and give us remixed 8min long fights of existing ones, and give 3 of them. Less work overall than the current Ults which are 5 shorter fights in one.
Some lore nerd help me, what is Garlemald and Thavnair's relationship? Why weren't they invaded? Did the Thavnarians help the Garleans during their exodus from Corvus or something? A high ranking official is wearing a coat found from the 6.1 Thavnair dungeon.
Garlemald is neutral to Thavnair and holds trade relations with them because Thavnair hasn't summoned any primals, and Garlemald has no interest in invading them and/or can't fabricate any evidence suggesting they could do so. It's part of why the HEY, WE SHOULD OPEN TRADE RELATIONS WITH THAVNAIR plotline doesn't make a lot of sense on its face; Garlemald already had trade lines with Thavnair, so this shouldn't be new to the nobles there (who admittedly are presented as pretty pig ignorant to the point of stupidity). Probably not specifically in magitek or magitek scrap, but they did already have trade.
it'll be something "new" to sink my teeth into at least, but it starting at 80 means it'll both not have much of a leveling curve to deal with, AND be probably really fucky at lower levels
>Something that would be a launch class or just equipping another sword in your off-hand is the main job for DT
I sleep. Why the fuck would even make something so bland the main expansion job?
>add proper PBR material handling to the engine >still can only do one material per model, unlike 1.0 which did 2-3 depending on the armor type involved
>One shader per mesh, which means they either have to go for a balanced look,
wasn't this only really a problem for ARR armors? even the AF armors and relics like paladin's stuff have different materials on multiple parts of the armor piece or weapon
The issue in ARR is you get armor with a metal, leather, and cloth present in the same mesh, and they can only make one of the three pop-out via the normal map + shader while the rest of it looks flat/plastic. 1.0 didn't have that problem. ARR's band-aid in recent expansions was to simply minimize variety of material types in the armor designs.
they either SERIOUSLY need the updated fur shader the hrothgar are getting, or femhroths are literally just the bare minimum of tufts of fuzz on top of normalish shaped female bodies for the laziest solution

Well, none of the PBR capabilities are implemented yet until 7.0.
I'm mildly concerned this means we are just getting but I won't throw my final judgement till we see the head I just really don't want miqo'te but more hair.
>mutated imperials >biomechanical abominations >haywire magitek >primals with the twisted horn motifs
I'd imagine the first dungeon of the original expansion was going to be Ghymlit. Go to Thavnair next due to their lax relations with Garlemald and help them out as Fandaniels forces start abducting their citizens. Probably convince some Legatuses to join us in freeing their homeland.
Sucks that there weren't any scenes of these mutated monstrosities charging into untempered people's encampments and killing or forcing tempering on them. The expansion spends more time on the Blasphemies than it does on Anima's ultra fast Aether corruption due to Garlemald getting the short end of the stick storywise.
>and boundless new ways to homogenize tanks~
FTFY. They should just call all four classes "tank", and let them mix and match all armor and skills at this point.
Kinda want to resub.
How's the Post EW content? I stopped right after MSQ.
Was kinda bummed hearing the island sanctuary sounded like a disappointment.
honestly I'd just wait until the 6.5 MSQ is fully out, I'd have enjoyed the post-EW MSQ a lot more if it was all available at the start. The 8/24 man raids are good, the music is awesome as always, etc.
Where in MSQ, 6.0? Plot from 6.1 to 6.5 is a loose FF4 retelling using the Void as the stage. >kinda bummed hearing the island sanctuary sounded like a disappointment.
It's kinda boring in practice but it's decent mindless "relaxation" content and can be used to generate gil and materia. Eventually it devolves into spreadsheet autism. YMMV. There are some glamour sets and mounts attached to it.
Endwalker is in fact a bit barren as far as optional content goes with the majority of our content drip being >MSQ >three trials/EX trials which were folded into MSQ this time >Eureka Orthos, a deep dungeon with an exceedingly low player retention rate >Sil'dih Subterrane, Mount Rokkon and Aloalo Island, variant/criterion dungeons and functionally a replacement for the Hard dungeons that used to populate patches and expert roulette >Pandaemonium, Ancient testing ground for weird/dangerous concepts. Surprisingly very good story and tries some variations in raid arena designs again, though a lot are still circles or squares >Twelve alliance-raid has just finished. Still not as good as Ivalice in my opinion but better than Nier >PvP overhaul resulted in new movesets for all jobs and Crystalline Conflict, a TF2 payload tug-of-war with a 5v5 player matchup >Fall Guys was added to the Gold Saucer but will only last around a month more before becoming "seasonal". It's a good MGP grind and has some exclusive glamour rewards but depending on how you feel about nylon zip-up hoodies and beanies shaped like Fall Guys beans the rewards may not be worth it >Relic weapons are a 1500 infinitely-acquired tomestone cost, no further strings attached. You can do daily roulettes and move your relic up a step currently and it'll probably shift over to Poetics come Dawntrail. Boring, but there's no other content to really attach relics to, so it's fine

don't forget it's gated behind ALL the hildebrand shit, so if you've been avoiding that shit you've got a lot of cutscene skipping to do
I get why some hate Hildibrand and tying the quest progression to the Relic, but honestly it's incredibly inoffensive to skip or even work through. Most I'm expecting at this point is the trial boss fight inevitably accompanying the final step in January.
Hildibrand seems to be a tolerance-check on how much one can handle "japanese humor", as in the kind of "japanese humor" that gets 24/7 seethe threads on Ganker from Call of Duty children that aren't quite aware they're on an anime imageboard
It's annoying and lazy. Personally I wanted to save hildi for downtime when I was in the mood for something humorous but the relic forced me to push through it all instantly. Then the actual relic itself has barely a single cutscene tied to it since it's piggybacking the hildi questline.
The fact that there is no gameplay or content associated with the relic is just depressing.
>he didn't do the hildiquestline for each expansion before moving on to the next expansion
im a lorechad, i make sure i do all the content for each expansion before moving on to the next one yes, I still have moogle ptsd...
They could call it >The aetherochemical weapons
and the story/acquisition of the relics could be the exact same, except you're buying some alchemical shit from Nidhana instead of some meteorites. The relics being tied to Hildi does not matter in the slightest, the relics don't even have any story to begin with.
The other relic stories are pretty barebones, but EW relics have no story at all. It's just Gerolt making some weapons with meteorites and Godbert's piss
6.0
i was spoiled on some of the content like the raids being alright
but i was curious if there was more than just raiding
my goal is to at least clear some savage content, but if there's other shit between raids to do, i wouldn't mind
maybe i'll sub for just a month and see where things go
thanks for the summary anon
how long would it realistically take to level VPR from 80-90? Never ran a new expac job on launch day before, I'm assuming you just spam bozja a bunch?
If you are solo that might be the best bet, I don't know if they've nerfed the exp gain in there but I remember it being great on reaper in the 80-90 range. Frontlines roulette is half a level, wondrous tails is also half a level (and you can do it twice quickly) so you'd want to prep that for sure.
Is Bozja faster than Eureka Orthos?
Also, grab WT a week before release and complete it, turn in on new job, do roulettes and spam WT down in a solo trial or something then turn in that WT as well. This jumps you multiple levels immediately

for WT, is it better to hold it until you get to the late 80s instead of using it to go from 80-81 for example?
If you have 3 other VPR's who know what they're doing, EO might be good. The problem with EO is that it's horrible with bad pugs, but an organized group could probably blast through 21-30 and get good XP
Yes, I wish I had time to sit down and play the job and learn it naturally rather than having 30 buttons dropped on me. You're going to fucking go crazy trying to play the game when all of your DPS are playing the new jobs and have no idea what they are doing.
At the very least the game needs some proper fucking tutorials for new jobs. The introductions for them are really awkward to begin with since ARR, a couple Jobs try to teach you things and then Ninja just goes "oh here's your third mudra that unlocks the rest of your kit GO LEARN IT THE HARD WAY CHUCKLEFUCK IT'S TIME FOR THE NEXT SOLO DUTY". Something like Sage is really awkward to get a first learn of since it's kinda funky compared to the other healers, but the game straight up throws you in with a lv70 kit and the majority of their tools unlocked from the get-go.
I know some folks figure it's MMO standard to learn as you go, but with how simple this shit is you'd think the game would take 5 minutes to do more than teach you the bare minimum of role rules, which itself is skippable if a retard ignores The Smith entirely.
I don't want this but I would take it in return for most jobs being less awful to play when synced down. Reaper getting its entire kit between 70-90 and being a 1-2-3 bot before then is criminal.
SE being lazy and not just scaling the fucking abilities down instead of striping them away wholesale when you do lower level content is, has been and always will be a lazy fucking practice that they will unfortunately never change. Plus it fucks people up when they go back to doing actual content and have to hit more than 3 buttons again. We've all seen it enough to know.
Doma is supposed to be China, and Hingashi is supposed to be China. And yeah, I know that Doma takes a lot of Japanese shit anyway because they're not a 1-to-1 shit and are more of an amalgam, but still, Doma is not-China, and Hingashi is not-Japan

>Doma = China >Hingashi = Japan >Azim Steppe = Finland
I like starting at level 1 because it makes me learn the muscle memory for the job in all level ranges, which is good for me because I'm a casual that just does roulettes
Reminder that Dawntrail's mexilizard story arc will be resolved halfway through the MSQ then it's back to fighting eldritch horrors from beyond the stars.
Pic related is Fanfest concept art that cannot be attributed to any existing character and with the reveal of THE ELIMINATOR it's clear we are going to deal with evil god motherfuckers right off the bat again.
they would be fools not to >it turns out the alliance raid is not actually a ffxi callback but actually a ffxi lore continuation with new bosses and music
imo it would have been a 1.X -> 2.0 reflection with just running around and doing everything that can be materially thought of to try and avert societal collapse on the ground level, before going to a "battle of cartenaeu" with the sundering itself as an inevitability
i mean, there's nothing stopping an Azem construct to still be alive, similar to the twelve. We could be introduced to him early on and we tail him the entire MSQ, ala the first section of FF7. but instead of the man in a black cloak, its a man/woman with grape stained hands
Considering the color theme of the expansion is gold, the color that is most commonly associated with the sun, you're probably right. Also the patch content has pretty regularly shown WoL with the underwater dream sequences of Azem's memories, I wouldn't be surprised if those come into play somehow
Seems more to me like someone will basically just create Primals 2.0 because literally almost every culture had some sort of Ascian teaching them to fuck with Primals across Source and the shards alike. The world serpent and the goddess-looking entity aren't gonna be aliens, it's just gonna be someone producing or becoming a pseudo god to change everything their usual way.
This isn't even considering that the Creation Magic used to make Primals was intentionally tainted by the Ascians for the calamity purposes. Worst case scenario, someone actually gets their hands on untainted Creation, and things get REALLY fucky.
Pandaemonium was written by the current Dawntrail MSQ writer. The entire 6.0-6.5 arc was interns loosely supervised by Ishikawa (probably explains why it feels so off).
Pandaemonium ends with a wide open door of ***WHO*** is handing out the evil space rocks that are not native to Etheirys.
FFXI alliance raid leaves wiggle room for WoL shitting a brick at the knowledge that the larger universe or multiverse does have true gods in it, assuming they touch on Promathia or Altana whatsoever. I hope to God that Shantotto isn't a part of the raid but I know she will be since she's a FFXI mascot character
>eg letting aetheryte tickets be sold on mb
what would be the consequences of this?
short term market crash across the board because people aren't spending hundreds on gil anymore
long term hunts become unusable and bots would would camp all B A and S rank spawn locations because hunt seals would finally have a viable gil dump
You could have teleporting pay people gil instead of costing gil and it wouldn't change anything, the average person has probably 20-50 mil at this point. I'm sitting on billions as it is.
Removing the mods because modtrannies have legit dysphoria on patch day and can't stand looking at vanilla characters. Them quitting would make the majority of now crowded places empty and no one else would want to stay online in an empty game either since whether it's a normalfag that wants to chat or a pve/pvp nigga that needs to show off latest glam and title they rely on getting stared at be everyone else.
people overestimate the use of mods
people always make the mistake of thinking that twitter represents the general population. Not only with XIV but with everything, really.
I'd say out of around 50 people I know only 2 or 3 of them are entirely vanilla without any addons of any kind. I'd actually go as far as to say that more people use third party gameplay or """qol""" addons than simple visual mods.
i miss 1.0/ARR lodestone RPposting. you can still find them if you sort by oldest they're so nostalgic. now every roleplay is done by some second life troon or Jessica role-playing as herself, but naked.
>new raids
Who gives a fuck, unless they change the itemization the rewards will still be garbage >new story
If it's the same writers as in EW, it will be some cringe anime shit again >boundless job skill >boundless
You will have your 2 minute burst kit and you will like it
Cringe levels were manageable up to EW. But having a e-boi bird as the main arch-villain of the entire game is a bit more than I can take.

>anon, do you have any idea what black mages could get in dawntrail?
Yes, another big nuke that needs some kinda gauge to be filled to fire.
and a fine big nuke it will be
but imagine if it's not tied to a gauge. What if they added a fire spell that increased in potency base on how long your fire phase lasted? Like a mega-despair that would do fuckhuge potency when you extended your fire phase with manafont.
What if they added paradox again?
What if they added Thunder V?
anon, do you have any idea what black mages could get in dawntrail?
do you have any idea what paradox being added to the game means?
the sky's the limit
I know 2 biofems irl who play FF14 and they play it with their bfs. So yeah it's technically possible but since you're posting here, realistically it isn't
Can't wait for every single lv100 capstone to be a flavor of "existing skill gets a new particle effect and 200 more potency" or "existing combo chain gets another finisher"
>They rework the jobs so they can add entirely new skills and setups >People cry >They don't rework jobs and limit themselves to slight alterations visually and damage wise >People cry
>stick exclusively to two extremes rather than finding a middle ground with iterative design >they way they have for BLM, proving that they understand how to design jobs that evolve over time and they've simply too fucking lazy to do it
yeah gee i wonder what the problem is
Or you realize that they don't have to reinvent the wheel every expansion and that if a job is in a good spot they can and should do something simple and call it a day.
I don't understand people who complain about XIV not constantly changing its systems to appease some dumbfuck FOTM refugees. The game is very honest and straightforward about what it is and doesn't intend to change.
as much as the game has issues, it does feel like 90% of complaining since Lynx's raid autism bullshit is someone going "why isn't it more like x game" before declaring MMOs are dead
>The game is very honest and straightforward about what it is and doesn't intend to change
It's pointless talking about the minutia of MMO content anyway because of how broad the playerbases are.
For every 1 person that hates Bozja, there's 50 that love it.
>only 8% of the playerbase even stepped foot into Zadnor
Exactly, but everyone loves Bozja right? Or maybe the don't and they hate it because they didn't reach Zadnor?
Maybe the first area was too hard? Too long? Too fun?
I never finished Zadnor because someone spoiled the ending and revealed that all of the plot with Noah disappeared into a black hole.
I didn't give a shit about Misija and she also doesn't get her comeuppance so I didn't see a reason to keep going.

the dalriada is top tier aliance raid material anon. also, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=suh9LLMYtfI
In my experience it's the old players who've been playing since HW that are bored with the game and complaining how stale it is. New players are still having fun
>starting to get through to Ph5 enrage in TOP in about one in eight pulls
Might be hope my group finishes this shit before the expansion comes out at the limited rate we can run this shit. How bad is ph6's DPS check at present with the current gear/pots/potency-buffs since its original release? Mechanically it looks like a joke since it's just two exaflare patterns, and stacking puddles. Rest is just LB3 timings/tank buster heals.
>if anyone dies it's immediately over, if a single mit is missed it's instantly over.
That's pretty much everything from ph4 onwards w/ the DPS checks that fight carries.
You can die at other points in the fight and still squeak things out but the buff in p6 means you just lose, you can't win period. The mit check is utterly ridiculous (hope you don't have a WAR) and you'll die to the exaflares far far far more than you'd expect. The latter set where you have to spread for beams during exas melts some peoples brains.
You should be able to reliably clear p5 enrage. Just dont oversend on p4, have a reliable shotcaller for the start of omega and tou should be getting through every time. With BiS and a nomech pots+cd window on p6 you should clear it fast once people get comfy with dungeon difficulty mechs + exas that are infinitely practiceable in xivsim.
>it'd be pretty cool if it was a curveball and it was in the 6.5 part 2 MSQ instead
there are no "curveballs" in the game anymore, everything gets immediately datamined as soon as it's possible to do so
I heard some fearmongering that they started banning people who do that, but I personally doubt it. I always just keep event chat up the entire time I do new patch content anyway

you can report people for anything. whether a penalty will be issued is another thing
>anymore
They explicitly spell out what they plan to release. The only time it's a curveball is when YoshiP changes his fucking mind and starts making excuses about "engine limitations"
it’s ironic because yoshida is known as the mmo man, but as soon as i heard that he was gonna make dawntrail multiplayer focused, i knew it was over. this man has been steeped in the singleplayer jrpg mentality for so long that he has not a SINGLE bone within him that understands how to make fun multiplayer content
I'm curious what he means by that. What does he think a "multiplayer focus" is? If he means encouraging people to socialize and make groups by designing the content to incentivize and maybe require socialization and grouping, that'd be a great idea.
Does he mean FFXI multiplayer or world of warcraft multiplayer, is what I'm trying to get at.
All things considered you have played the game so much that it's now easy to you until you hit hardcore. For idiots and those not very good at video games, they'll die plenty throughout the game because of "that one move", "that one boss", etc, and there are difficulty spikes. It's just everyone else will carry them.
but its an msq thing with trusts. even if you don't know yshtola executes it perfectly its still pretty bad when you can't beat it with 2 reraise charges and your party being designed to succeed
>do normal raid roulette >go to commendations >whatever, just gonna commend any of the healers >first healer is a male midlander WHM with skimpy girl clothes >ok not that one >second healer is another male WHM, but this time an elezen (also with skimpy girl clothes)
it's all so tiresome...
I had an absolutely pathetic healer in a roulette yesterday. This homosexual didn't even use regen. I'm WAR and theoretically, I shouldn't ever die, but I was pulling to the fucking wall like I always do, and this stupid homosexual couldn't cover the last 10% of downtime I had to survive it. Worthless homosexuals, man.
>using regen >on a WAR
That's a whole fucking GCD my man, don't talk about shit you don't know. If they were worth their salt, they would have been waiting until you dropped below 20% to pop bene.
Today I encountered a level 90 healer, who had no less than 6 other jobs at 90, who did not know what the healer LB3 did and was startled enough to ask about it in chat.
Roulettes really open my eyes to some of the issues in todays gaming world.
thats what happens when the retard in charge of the game lets players afk in crystal tower to get to level 90 instead of actually challenging them

>play red join a duty roulette >get Aitiascope >tank pulls as many as they can at the start, tank dies didn't even use any buffs, healer dies, other dps dies >I pop swift cast and alternate veracure to get dualcast to throw to revives at everyone while still standing >not even a thanks or commendation fucking ingrates should have abandoned
realistically what can they do to switch up the combat and make it more interesting >talents/options
players will complain about being locked out of content when your build isnt meta >netcode/ skills actually affected by terrain
archaic 1.0 engine that they cant really make big changes on >harder and more unique rotations
doesnt really make the encounter design more interesting but it does make the jobs more interesting to play
>locked out of content when your build isnt meta
This literally doesn't happen. This didn't happen even back in HW+SB when BRD was "required" for all groups, the only time you heard about it was on parse runs. And in the end all of the changes they made to move away from that were meaningless because FFLogs split the numbers such that only rDPS mattered in the end. Now padding is only possible through absurd fringe cases and only in specific fights.
Every single one of these discussions boils down to how the playerbase reacts, but the only vehemently toxic sorts are people who exclusively play with their own statics. I raided all throughout HW and SB and only saw one legitimate freak-out, and it was over a NIN not using shadeshift on the tank in an O11S pug. The only way the community at large would become toxic about this shit is if something is really and truly fucked and it's actively handicapping your ability to clear, the way MCH was in Stormblood.
FF14 is perfectly capable of handling niche specs, unique equipment (like what they did with the DoH/DoL relics), and individual choice. The problem is that they're too fucking lazy to manage it. They have enough difficulty as it is, where every single job except for one is chastity belted into a fixed two-minute rotation and it still took over a year to address issues with MCH underperforming. RDM STILL has problems despite being a braindead job that could effortlessly be balanced by just adding 20 potency onto its bread-and-butter spells.
Would FF14 be vastly more fun and engaging with shit like talents and customizable gear? Absolutely.
Could the developer manage it without completely shitting the bed? Absolutely fucking not.
>Would FF14 be vastly more fun and engaging with shit like talents and customizable gear?
But it WAS like that and everything had a weird rotation and you had to have the Ninja there and you had to have the White Mage macro for WAR and BRD had an Arrow Count and SMN couldn't summon Garuda-Egi on Tuesdays and you had to get the Black Mage spell by doing two weeks of Paladin in the swamp.
>the usual MMO classism
Yeah sure but if even a small minority complain about it, they will repeat this point ad infinitum and threaten to kill the game through social media or forums or whatever, just like Tigole.
I think the devs are capable to balance it but they are really scared of the playerbase doomsaying and severely killing their revenue like in their OF, maybe they can do it but they have to basically say fuck off to the naysayers
>if even a small minority complain about it,
I don't know if you've noticed but FF14 already has a small minority shitting themselves over job balance, and that's in the current environment where you can speedrun savage with four ranged DPS.
If they're going the "appeasement" route then maybe they should appease the significantly larger portion of the playerbase that wants shit to do.
I got literal death threats because I was using AoE spells instead of spamming Cure 1, you need to understand that the playerbase is fucked no matter what.
They've spent the past five years dumbing down the game beyond recognition to appeal to roulette heroes who just want to run dungeons on autopilot while they watch netflix. They could put in the work to have it both ways, where the lobotomites get specs that make roulettes more fun, while raiders of all variety get to do their bean-counting autism over which spec is better for which fight. People can come up with an optimized meta as much as they want; they already do that. At least give me options that let me feel like I'm playing a video game and not just showing up for marching band practice.
just do borrowed power like logos and lost actions so we can have fun things that won’t get in the way of the autistic 8 clowns dance routine that’s raiding. we could have pve push the cart, base defense, any other kind of pve game mode that isn’t current raiding
they already have the usual 12 savage raids, 3 ultimates and 7 extremes on top of criterion being 4man savage. they are some of the most catered-to players in the game, they don’t need any more content
It legitimately blows my fucking mind that they had something going with Bozja tying in to DR/DRS. Adding dungeons and fights that tied to your lost inventory seemed like an obvious choice for 6.0, instead they canned the idea entirely. They didn't even carry over CEs or Duels in the overworld despite people asking for more unique FATEs like Odin for upwards of a decade.
Can't wait for Diadem v4 in 7.0, this time with a new flavor of Logos actions, with unique areas and mechanics that aren't going to be re-implemented into the main world to any reasonable extent. They really and truly just do the bare minimum to get shit across the finish line and then throw their hands up as if there's no more work that can be done.
and fucking nothing to do like a few weeks later and then all the new patch content is done in a day.
Wow thanks!
Theres nothing MMO about this game and it's fucking shit now.
The only players are terminally ill retards who stay online all day pretending this game is Second Life 2 and mod their character into some shitty looking crap. These are the same people who completely moan day in day out if there is something to do that is longer than a day.
They hide behind their "You're not meant to play it every day you can play other games" but they're on every day standing in a fucking housing plot speaking to their friends before going to a shitty "nightclub" with a tard DJ that plays a Youtube playlist all night because they think they're so quirky. When they aren't they're the most bland retards in the game. All the actual MMO features got patched out because these retards can't handle socialising in anyway other than getting railed by a shitty edgelord looking homosexual au ra who thinks he's some sort of alpha male, when most likely he's just some fat neckbeard wishing he was.
The state of the game is fucking abysmal now. Just a glorified chatbox with a 3D game attached to it.
I would have liked if they took Bozjas critical engagements and put them in the zones.
But Im not sure even that would draw the losers out of their erp plots and actually doing content in a zone.
I think just setting the towns up like Bozja would work, but when you think about it, who really cares?
Okay, now Drybone Camp has 20 players standing there waiting for a fate. Ok. Wow the world feels alive.
People need to realise that’s it’s a video game, it’s not the fucking national park.
It's supposed to be a MMORPG but it never feels like it.
Playing WoW recently made me realise that.
Seeing all the people doing shit in the world at Dragon Isles made me actually feel like I was in an MMO.
People shit on WoW daily but it's still doing MMO properly.
>and fucking nothing to do like a few weeks later and then all the new patch content is done in a day.
Not every game lasts forever and you shouldn't really play it non-stop with little else to cleanse the palette just because you want some sorta forevergrind game. Anyone that eats that shit up on WoW genuinely disturbs me.
I'm caught between wanting a low-stakes adventure and something that puts us in actual comprehendible danger. Maybe one of the tribes will sacrifice Alphinaud to their god or something.
He's there on the boat, but whatever part shows him up close probably ties to something they're hiding, like catwoman or krile's outfit or Ryne and Gaia's secret appearance no seriously why did Gaia have one voiced cutscene out of nowhere that's really freaking weird.
>no seriously why did Gaia have one voiced cutscene out of nowhere that's really freaking weird.
i honestly think yoshi and the current writers have a boner for gaia. meanwhile unkubungu and cylva got their "resolution" last expansion, so they get an honorary optional mention and a couple lines of text dialogue with no scene if you go pester them about it.
Cylva and Unukalhai were obviously meant to play the role Zero had in the void storyline, who knows why they decided to drop them and go with her instead. It's really funny when you get to the final confrontation between Zero and Golbez and realize the entire part was written for Cylva.
Hiding important story behind optional content while also wanting all your players to understand the story is a continuing problem in this game. I liked how you had to play every role to get the full shadowkeeper story, but it's caused nothing but trouble for the plot and the character since.
The weird part about it is that it's something they easily could have altered or not even put behind role quests to begin with, then they chose to double and triple down on it by adding the extensions. One would have to assume by the time they were adding the extensions they were already planning out the post EW content and knew they had dug their own grave.
It had to be on purpose which is again confusing because of how good they've been in the past in terms of laying down the groundwork then using it later on. Now they've laid down something amazing and then barred themselves from using it, then completely paved over it.
>Cylva was a Gladiator that borders on Dark Knight with her edgy stuff, though Branden would become a Paladin and supercede her role >her entire story is realizing she utterly fucked up, betrayed those she came to care about after gathering them together, engaged in the darkness too readily to save her world only for it to be all for nothing >Zero changes from Reaper to Paladin inexplicably because gotta have the Cecil change
in hindsight it really does seem like they just made an OC donut steele and poorly handled the whole thing just to not have to ask players to do the entire Shadowkeeper storyline, aka not progression gate MSQ behind 4 role quests. stupid fucking outcome in the long term of how the whole thing plays out though, especially since EW is severely kneecapped in the Eorzea threat level of the whole song of despair shit as well as any proper conclusion involving it all until you go do all the role quests.
They actually have 3 people on the boat that we can see who haven't been officially shown, Alphi himself they are going out of the way to hide which is funny.
Yes, she shows up at the end. It'd be one thing if it wasn't voiced or if it was even earlier when Zero was around, but it happens after the plot is resolved.
>no seriously why did Gaia have one voiced cutscene out of nowhere that's really freaking weird.
i honestly think yoshi and the current writers have a boner for gaia. meanwhile unkubungu and cylva got their "resolution" last expansion, so they get an honorary optional mention and a couple lines of text dialogue with no scene if you go pester them about it.
If Gaia had any relevance until now. I mean I guess maybe the boner is them letting her out of sidequest jail at all.
Unk is buried in three levels of soloable sidequest hell and Clyv is stuck behind ALL ShB role quests, which is truly the most trying of content to complete so sorry can't let either of them out. Maybe once they have jobs that are a high enough level to pick up and do the role quests then they can be free...
Gaia and Ryne both being voiced really was a bit of a surprise. It's like that one scene at the end of 4.5 where you wake up in Ishgard and you bump into count Edmont. It obviously wasn't voiced and nobody expected it to be because he's not a character in the current expansion. Also the Ryne scenes during 6.0 weren't voiced either

i got to rank 10 last year and i don't want to do the next 10 ranks because it's going to be the exact same circling around, collecting monsters and materials endlessly, and doing mammet workshop mobile game garbage. it has no place in the game and is a waste of time, effort, and development budget
Realistically maybe 2-3/10. Placing housing items is cool because you don't need multiples of the same item, and some of the rank up cutscenes are pretty fun. I also had fun hunting animals at the start.
The rest has no redeeming qualities
Probably a 1/10. The only part of it that I enjoyed were some of the rewards but they could have easily been made available from any other content and the result would have been better. It is anti-fun content.

if only because it had such high hopes
but it turned out to be mobile game tier garbage
seems like someone had a neat idea that sounds cool on paper and forgot they needed it to be fun as well
I never noticed before that the pfp is that dude with the same hairstyle and glasses but as a cute anime girl. I dunno why something about this feels so sad, dude's not ranting about how he wants to stab "cis scum" or declaring random things are trans as an excuse to call you a nazi, just wishes he was a cute xaela girl in a yellow dress. Fuck the pharmaceutical and shrink industries, he's probably gonna kill himself and he could have had a perfectly normal life.
This. He should have just been some happy neckbeard who bores you talking about his druchii army at the gaming store, and instead society has told him that he's so worthless that he's abandoned any sense of real identity and is chasing the one thing that still brings him joy, cute anime girl, which is the only thing meaningful enough in his life to define him.
FFXI bros... what are the odds of a combined subscription? I was certain that Yoshida was going in that direction when he asked how many people were still playing, but he just dropped it afterwards. Would he really just bait the entire audience like that for no reason?
have they gotten rid of playonline yet? because there's no world in which it still exists that you'll get even a fraction of xiv's playerbase over there
If anyone could convince the new CEO that the loss of individual XI subs would be massively offset by the number of new players from XIV, it's Yoshida.
The only thing people who play XIV and people who play XI have in common is, maybe, interest in the FF brand. XIV is (unfortunately) is about as different from XI as a game can be while still being an online Final Fantasy.
Judging by your choice of words I don't think you know anything about either game.
If they merged the subs or even lowered it from $15+ to something more sensible I could see no less than 10-15 people in my immediate friend group that would play it. They are very different games but today XI is extremely solo friendly and there are a lot of people who would love to explore the games storylines.
Before the Ally raid announcement: 1%
After the announcement: 10%
It makes sense with what they are doing and people have been pestering them for a fucking decade about it, but on the other hand they as a company have this weird disdain for XI and seem to want people to not play it.
>bozja style actions in DT variant/criterion >variant is needed for relic steps >roulette variant >criterion gives gear(each boss drops different loot) >2 endgame bis, normal savage(usual max ilvl) and criterion(5 lower ilvl than max but becomes +10 ilvl in criterion)
there I saved final fantasy fourteen : trail of dawn
it's actually kind of hilarious how from the end of ShB through ALL of EW that wasn't dungeon/natural trial stuff, aka the cast going down in the Atiliascope for Hydaelyn and belng able to run up to Rubicante, we just keep using the damn crystal over and over. give the WoL the natural ability or stop making world tier threats that require super summons, jesus christ
>power to summon anyone from anywhere across the rift >can't just summon Azdaja >can't just summon pizza man
It's a stupid device that just makes the story retarded.
I always thought it was more like manifestations of people you know. WoL never met Azdaja so he couldn't summon her if he wanted to, and even if he could, she wouldn't actually physically move
makes the most sense. It's mostly just a stand in for a few lines of text mentioning adventuring buddies and/or explaining how said people could appear in whatever fantastic locales the devs wanna use. Retards really seem to love treating it like it's some kind of super power and that having it break would somehow change literally anything. Hell, it's most likely if it did break they'd just have us 'learn' the Azem magic and cast it anyway.
Wasn't she also tainted by being in the 13th so long?
I don't think so, since Golbez had her in a stasis bubble. But also, Golbez had her in a stasis bubble.

Giving context for finding adventuring buddies is way more interesting than a limitless magic plot excuse that raises more questions than answers. Can we summon more or less than 7 people? Why don't we use it more often? Can they be used for more than combat?

Oh no anon, someone's watching you from behind a pillar 10ft away! They're gonna smirk and walk off!
I can see them setting up that the crystal gets shattered or loses juice, which will eventually lead up to WoL just innately learning it cause, as a surprise to no one, he's a shard of the schmuck who made the magic in the first place.
and more of a whole than most other if not everyone on the Source, given the Ardbert shit
honestly if they want to do silly plot armor power crap they should do more than just the Crystal, but then I don't want more Ancient shit running everything either
>be careful WoL the azem crystal will run out of juice eventually >uh actually that's just for fakout deaths, you can summon 7 bros literally whenever you want unless it's a story cutscene that isn't a trial
it ran out of Hydaelyn Superjuice™ so we can't reconstitute the dead from just their souls across space and time. It's never been implied that its normal incantation of summoning your buddies to your side has any sort of usage limit thoughever.
It should fade over time, just like they said Amaurot would, because both were made from Hades' magic. How long, we don't know, but it can be however long the devs want I suppose.
Trust is unironically the worst thing to be added to the game. It funnels shitters to endgame, it depopulates roulettes, and it's irrevocably fucked up the story. The azem crystal should have shattered after killing elidibus.
>It funnels shitters to endgame
Clearning MSQ is now endgame? >irrevocably fucked up the story
Fighting crystal mom with the Scions was pure Kino and is way better than the Azem crystal that summons the xth homosexual wearing some modern bullshit glam.
Just curious. Yoship has stated that he wants people to think of 14 as mainline, and as such is putting as much of the MSQ as single player as possible. this puts it more in line with other titles.
as far as difficulty goes, where would you put ffxiv's MSQ if you rated it against the main quest of other FF titles? mind you, FF main quests haven't been that difficult since FF4, and thats only the original version. most of them are pretty damned easy in fact. expert use of the in game systems can break them in half pretty easily.
it could be argued that since the overworld isn't dangerous, ffxiv is actually easier. but like FF2, you can in fact walk into a high level area pretty easily at low levels. or is it not dangerous because you can fly over it? name a FF in which the airship didn't remove random encounters
just food for thought. i postulate that the difficulty for the game, for the MSQ at least, is right where it needs to be.
MSQ difficulty is entirely based on who you get in your party. Vishap and Shinryu hard walled many casual players before getting nerfed, a damn shame if you ask me.
i'm only taking into account the areas of ffxiv's msq you can solo with trusts, which is a large percentage. i suppose the equivalent of being carried by your buddies through various trials would be having your big brother beat a boss for you. or uploading your ff6 save you thought was stuck at a boss in kefka's tower
In that case, it's probably more timewasting than difficult. The mechanics you could feasibly die to only take a single viewing to understand. Hydaelyn is probably the most difficult trust instance, but that was really the test for 8-person trust.
hydaelyn does have a few trial and error tricks, namely her weapon swapping aoes. usually where i see people go down. they don't even match the aoes when you fight her as venat. its plausible that the devs expect you to figure out that yshtola is always right, i suppose, but it doesn't help that yshtola 1: isn't mandatory in trusts so you figure this out and 2: is only 100% right in this one instance. she stands in shit just as much as urianger and alisaie otherwise.
>Guys THIS is what's totally gonna happen in Dawntrai-
Nothing will happen in Dawntrail. Because nothing ever happens. Nobody who matters in the story is under any shred of threat, nobody will see any character development, the world will not suffer any meaningful change as a result of anything that occurs in the story, because nothing will happen. This game is like a comedy cartoon show where the status quo must forever be maintained no matter what happens. They've fake-out-deathed so many times with the main cast that nobody believes anybody (besides background characters) will actually (permanently) die. This is no longer simply true of the Scions but of the villains as well (see Meteion, Golbez).
Nobody who you care about will ever die, the writers are too terrified of shippers to ever kill off a main cast member ever again. Hell not even obscure side characters can die because the Yoshi is afraid that somebody somewhere might ship their WOL with that catgirl pirate NPC in Llimsa so not even the most irrelevant background NPCs can die. As well as being afraid of just general fanboy backlash to a character death, ever since Horsefart they've been scared shitless to kill anyone off (see the series of fakeout deaths that filled post-HW) and this has only gotten more extreme as time has gone on.
Villains won't die or face any repurcussions no matter what they've done, they'll be given a sob story for why they did the bad and be totally forgiven.
The world itself isn't even under any believable threat, we just had a whole expansion about a global cataclysm and it was contained to 2 zones (one of which was Garlemald which nobody gives a fuck about) before it was ultimately resolved.
NOTHING. WILL. EVER. HAPPEN. Because Yoshi is afraid somebody, somewhere, might get upset and unsubscribe if anything of consequence ever happens to anyone or anything. So the story has become stagnant, utterly stripped of consequence, meaning, or tension.
>NOTHING. WILL. EVER. HAPPEN.
Death = character development. Next you will tell us that Y'shtola, Krile and the rest of the Scions have no character development and Thancred's arc is over so now he can die to cater to your thirst for blood.
I'll solve your issue: How about you leave the game then? I head GW2 is reaping through its cast at record speed, and WoW has basically assassinated its main cast several times over. Should give you all the emotional impact you desperately need, because clearly FF games are not your thing. Besides: XIV has a higher body count than any other FF game before it with the exception of FF2. Shit, I think XVI is more tame in that regard.
>Next you will tell us that Y'shtola, Krile and the rest of the Scions have no character development
They have had no character development yes
>Death= character development
I never said this, though a character can develop as a result of the death of another character they had a close relationship with. Not that this happens in FF14
>Thancred's arc is over so now he can die to cater to your thirst for blood.
Thirst for blood, lol. Holy shit I am so tired of you guys who keep defending the current state of this game's writing. You know what's even more annoying? I don't even think you actually genuinely disagree with me, you just have this conspiracy in your heads that everyone who criticizes the game is this one boogyman or another and so you are just reflexibly opposing me on the off chance that I'm this boogyman making these arguments in bad faith.
>clearly FF games are not your thing.
I don't have this problem with other FF games
>Besides: XIV has a higher body count than any other FF game
It's not about body count, it's about who dies and how much the audience cares about them. I've consumed stories where one character dies and it got far more of an emotional reaction out of me than stories I've consumed that killed characters left and right, more than every single one of said characters in said other stories combined. As usual with this disingenous argument you guys throw in response to this criticism, your response is to throw out all the many instances of characters who NOBODY GIVES A SINGLE IOTA OF A FUCK ABOUT who died post HW. No i don't give a fuck about Papylymo. Or Minfilia. You know who I gave a fuck about? Y'syale. She was actually useful, actually hung out with our party for a significant amount of the MSQ, was an actual charming likeable character with depth and served as an amusing foil to Estinien, you know, actually BONDED with us like those other characters never did. So when she died I actually cared. Give me more of that.
>in your heads that everyone who criticizes the game is this one boogyman or another
You are the one going on about "REEEE MUH SHIPPERS". The only thing I think about you is that you have a shit taste, don't enjoy FF games and should seek out games that cater more to your taste.
Yoshi has said in an interview that the player is free to headcanon their WOL's with any NPC they want. It's not a stretch to draw the conclusion that a part of the reason they became reluctant to kill of major characters is because they're concerned they might upset people who ship their WOL with said character.
The absolute narcissistic retardation in this statement.
Personally I thought it was trust system that kept the Scions alive, since we needed all seven of them for the Hydaelyn trial or back in Shadowbringers Thancred was the only tank
>Holy shit I am so tired of you guys who keep defending the current state of this game's writing. You know what's even more annoying? Inb4 "HURR DURR THIS GUY JUST WANTS TO KILL THE SCIONS"
No. I want the feeling that nobody in the story is above consequences, and those consequences do not need to be death. When the writers destroy your confidence that anybody will ever suffer any meaningful consequence, up to and including death, than any tension your story is gone. Which means when you try having actual stakes (like putting your characters in perilous situations) than these moments fall flat because I, the audience, am no longer convinced you have the balls to actually do anything to these characters. So these scenes are just a waste of my time. The illusion of threat is no longer there. You have Y'shtola fall into a deep dark cavernous hole. You try to make it sad and dramatic, but I don't believe you. I know she's fine, because I know you won't actually kill her. So you are just wasting my time.
At that point, you may as well just turn the entire MSQ into hildibrandt-lite and just do away with any illusion of stakes and become a light-hearted slice of life story. If you aren't interested in killing off a character, or having them suffer any other form of serious consequence (permanently seperated okay, that's fine. But when you abuse fakeout deaths to the extent CBU3 has, eventually your audience just loses all confidence in you to actually go through with character death, and your story loses that tension it would otherwise have still had. You no logner have a story where your audience is on the edge of their seats, not knowing of your protagonists will make it out alive. They know when a character "sarcifices" themselves, they're just gonna be fine the next scene through some contrivance. So they don't care. They aren't on the edge of their seats anymore, they become apathetic. They become bored. Which is the worst thing a story can be. A bad story can be entertaining. A boring story is irredeemable.
Serious question, why do you like the Scions unironically? They all have interchangable personalities, almost all of them have the same sharlyan scholar origin, they have zero conflicts or drama between eachother and are in perpetual agreement with one another, they constnatly suck off the WOL and act more like exposition dumps than actual characters, and their character developments have been stagnant for years. They are the most bland, unlikeable, boring main cast of any fiction I have seen in a long time. They lack everything that makes a main cast of characters compelling.
The cast of Heavensward (WOL, Alphinaud, Estinien and Ysayle) was far better because everyone of these characters had a distinct personality and didn't all get along, and each had their own motivations for joining up with eachother until they actually bonded over the long adventure. It was wholesome, basic final fantasy storytelling. A party of 4 unlikely indidivuals forced together by their own unique circumstances forced on on an adventure where they all grow closer together and become actual friends and it's thanks to the bond they develop that they have the strength to save the world. It's not a coincidence that the cast (including the WOL) was a party of 4.
That's gone now. Not surprising, as Yoshi has made it clear he hates Final Fantasy and wants to reinvent it (see FF16 and his tone deaf comments about FF and JRPGs as a whole in interviews about it).
Honestly I hate that because of Paladin and Dark Knight there can't be a single sword DPS that isn't just Samurai, and Viper closed the gate for two-handed sword matters. It also means there's never going to be some big fuck-off sword DPS. It doesn't help that Paladin and maybe Gunbreaker are the only Tanks that actually feel like they're written for tanking; last I remember Warrior is just straight up violent murder anger and Dark Knight is vigilante killer that is only a Tank because its 50-60 happens to involve bodyguarding.
>villains will never die, just be forgiven
Fordola has a bomb leash around her neck for her crimes and has to gradually earn her respect, Gaius survived his shit- and that's about it. We murdered every single other villain if they don't have bigger schemes at large or were a comical antagonist like Hildibrand villains.
Don't even argue, the anon dredges his sordid argument up every now and then and then paints a picture of "le evil shippers" who are responsible for that. It is just the result of years of GoT painting how people view fantasy. Unless the villain gets murder tortured to death after murder torturing some of the main cast these people will never be satisfied. They just want misery for miseries sake.
Yeah, it was a FF tier ending and I was happy about it. Scions are cool, if they put them more in the background for a new cast then than is fine too. I just hope its not the setup that DT makes out to be, Twins, Krile, Bunny Boy and Hroth Girl sound pretty bad.
I'm not upset that everyone made it through, I'm upset that they faked out everyone's death for emotional weight and then reverse thanos'd them all back with no lasting consequence. They weren't even mentally affected by the ordeal, they just spouted their marvel quips and went about it like nothing had happened.
anon, no one is impressed that you figured out the genre and how writing for an audience works. anyone with a brain figured out that Thancred wasn't gone forever on the trip to Ultima Thule, even before yshtola told you. you aren't smart for recognizing patterns. you aren't a genius for using meta knowledge to judge the narrative. you just prove that you are incapable of putting yourself in your characters position. which, honestly, i pity you for. i can't imagine how dull fantasy would be if i had your thought processes
The story is about keeping your will to live no matter how much despair you experience. WoL watches all his friends die and still presses on. It also shows the Scions character are willing to do what they did.
because it's true, what kind of boundless job skill opportunities does that one think they'll do? They'll just going to "improve" whatever skills jobs currently do and rename it. Like for example MNK will do "Super Phantom Rush" instead of "Phantom Rush".
>leveling dragoon >just do a dmg buff + DoT combo every half minute and time it every minute with jumps and another dmg buff, it only starts getting more interesting mid-to-post HW levels
I'm not seeing the full kit, but I can kinda see why there'd be a rework. The base of this job is so barebones and everyone else has kind of shifted away from this.
The 5 hit combo loop has satisfying animations and is fun enough, honestly. It's a little OGCD heavy for my taste, but I do like Dragoon's core. It's just unfortunate it doesn't "turn on" until like level 74.
Both US and EU fanfests have been completely shit and the info they shown off has been subpar so far. JP better show some good stuff otherwise its looking completely shit.
so what the fuck was the deal with a random ass soldier that saw Yotsuyu get treated like shit as a child, so we get an echo of it only for him to die in the middle of the echo because Alisaie cut his ass down
did they really have no better way to start an echo so random plot fucker to the deathscue
I bought The War Within epic edition recently because I was tired of XIV being done in a day and Im having a much better experience.
It actually feels like an MMO, I see people in the overworld all the time and lots of people in cities.
Only made it to Lv25 atm and levelling in Duskwood but it's honestly been a good change of pace.
Has me wondering what the fuck happened to XIV to make me consider playing WoW. (This is the first time I have played WoW before you start.)
>He thinks it's gonna get better once you reach max level and the game turns into "Have this m+ score and ilvl and correct class spec or don't get invited"
>He actually thinks this shit matters in modern WoW
Just like xiv all the raids are dumbed down to fuck so every class can clear.
Classes only matter if you're a parse homosexual.
yeah, you enjoy being afk in the main city unless you play what is meta, knowing blizz cocksuckers though, you probably aren't touching non-meta specs anyway to begin with

NTA but retribution paladin here.
I still do M+ and have a group.
Just like XIV any class can do the raids. Only fags interested in logging care. Most just want to clear and don't care who it is.
>Has me wondering what the fuck happened to XIV to make me consider playing other game?
content drought might sound like a cope but I've paused sub to play other games (including other MMORPGs) in every end-expansion phase.
I also stopped playing wow because of that back in WoTLK.
Before everyone start going: >your ultimate/savage parses >your DD cheevos >pvp? >f-fishing
If I'm not into those then I won't force myself to play them. It's like in any game, you won't play a mode or character that you're not into...
This expansion has nothing to keep people playing. Story is basically over entirely post xpac content has been extremely weak. No exploration zones and side content has been terrible like island spreadsheet. I know a lot of people who want to play the game just there is fuck all at level cap if you don't want to throw yourself at savage/ultimate PF which is akin to punching yourself in the dick.
Yeah other than some savage troonerie, there is nothing much to do. Shame, with an all time high for players they should have used that momentum to double down on EW content. But I guess FF XVI was more on the directors mind.
It has no content because the very loud second life community keep seething about having to "grind" stuff even if it takes a week or two.
Yoshida knows these sad pathetic people are quite a big chunk of those who sub and doesn't want them to leave.
>8.0 >level cap stays at 100, new system for leveling up characters is introduced post 100 >last time jobs are added to the game >they do a tank, healer, and ranged dps again to round everything out. >the ranged dps is blitzballer
What are the chances of this happening?
not a blitzballer, but at the very least yoship stated that lv100 would be "the cap" and they don't want to keep escalating past that in terms of levels alone.
Why did Alphi even join the Scions back in ARR? I remember him being at the ceremonies during the envoy quest, but I have no recollection of him ever meeting with the Scions for the first time.
grandpa died, wanted to tame the savages, got fucked up , became based alphi in heavenward, became so based they literally retcon his growth all the time as he gets writer rewrites. mean while alisaie is a stupid yapping cunt that needs to fuck off.
Its so bad ill accept a mercy kill on Alphi from hiroi.
Baldesion Arsenal is still one of the best things they ever put in this game. I don't know how they turned right around and fucked Bozja up so bad. I used to joke that SE had a team specifically to take ideas they come up with and fuck them up as much as possible before implementation and the longer things go the more I think I might have been right.
eureka is thriving. matsuno was so fucking lazy and a hack im glad he was disgraced as left. >muh big brain trust the plan gabranth >muh mikoto >muh misijia >muh field notes
>Baldesion Arsenal is still one of the best things they ever put in this game.
It has a horribly low clear rate and the fact that you need to join a discord and be at the mercy of the mod there to get into a run is fucking awful.
Don't know what you're on about.
I joined the EU one and they do constant new player runs. Just listen to discord callouts.
Cleared 1st time on my 1st run and never died once.
Must be an NA thing.
It's sad that Relics got fucking gutted twice now because the community is shit.
1st time was Raider naggers in Stormblood crying about the final step of the relic always beating the savage weapon. Said weapons usually launched about 6 months after savage release. Which makes the whole argument stupid.
2nd time was Endwalker when ERP fags complained about having to do content to upgrade their relic.
Now we have a shit system of spend tomes and that's it.
Fucking diabolical.
There's not really any winning. Relics weren't actually a cool thing to get in terms of accomplishments, they were just a gigantic fucking chore that was inevitably going to be glamourbait. But tuning everything back to Hildibrand quests and 1500 tomes a phase (with probably Asura for .55 as a required fight to get to the last step) simplified it too much. Combine that with a lot of people growing disillusioned with the tomestone/augment grind in the first place and a lot of folks just figure it's not worth it until next expac anyway.
>I still don't see the reason to give a fuck about raid gear.
Bragging rights. The raider wants to be stronger (or that is what the devs assume) than the casual player. I think this is a retarded way of thinking, personally. No one would care of actual BiS pieces dropped in the 24 man raids. No one would care if casual players could get as powerful as raider. All it would do is make the gearing less of a slog and the people who would profit from that are mostly raider so they can try other classes.
Its just so damn confusing when the same company made an mmo 20 years ago that is probably the best example of gearing in an mmo. Then they give us the laziest number goes up shit possible.
I played 1.0 and the gear was way different from XI. They tried to push fully player crafted economy with no gear drops and no repair npcs. That shit just did not work early on.
>best example of gearing in an mmo
Maybe back during CoP, but current year XI gearing is shit and a complete clusterfuck.
Oh 100% 75 Era was the best current XI is a fucking mess.
is ff11's sub the same amount as ff14's? is getting it installed on pc a nightmare or simple? I want to give it a try, shame it doesn't have a similar free trial...
Subs are way lower just try a private server. Horizon is decently busy and they're doing like an Era+ thing where they're slowly rolling out xpacs. Not sure on others I haven't paid a lot of attention I think catseyexi is a newer one though.
Entirely different styles of games, they aren't trying to be anything like XI or any other MMO, they've realized that easy gearing makes for better gameplay in the type of MMO they want to make.
is ff11's sub the same amount as ff14's? is getting it installed on pc a nightmare or simple? I want to give it a try, shame it doesn't have a similar free trial...
Yes
Yes but you can find a guide that makes it easy
You can dick around on a private server but it's not going to have the QoL of retail if you just want to see what its about.
Different style of game or not they need to do something to make the gameplay loop interesting since why bother doing shit when crafted gear is basically free and its more than enough for every piece of content in the game?

I think you need to play other games, clearly this one isn't for you. No, they aren't going to change the game just because you dislike it.
What the fuck is with this wave of retards recently that keep screaming about the game needing to change to meet their personal criteria? Is this an e-celeb thing?

I've been here since the beginning man. The game is great for new players and casuals but at endgame if you've been around a while there is just fuck all to do and just basic stat sticks don't matter. Like as the game keeps going the amount of content we can do with our full kit is such a small amount and its going to be even worse when Dawntrail comes out.

several ecelebs are bitching, yes, including raiders and whoever the fuck that lynx guy was trying to make a big statement about the "Downfall" while blaming MSQ streamers and non-raiders for the state of the game. that and WoWfugees running amok falseflagging because their game is literally having to bring back the man that killed it, Starcraft and Diablo to salvage it after its been skullfucked into the dirt already
I played 1.0 and the gear was way different from XI. They tried to push fully player crafted economy with no gear drops and no repair npcs. That shit just did not work early on.

it should go on sale soon for around $10 and that comes with a free month
Thank you, I'll give private servers a try and if the game hooks me I'll start retail (probably when it goes on sale)

Stick to private servers retail is kind of a mess. Its basically use trusts which are just npcs in your party to level to cap in a day or two and then go do the handful of endgame things people still run.
is ff11's sub the same amount as ff14's? is getting it installed on pc a nightmare or simple? I want to give it a try, shame it doesn't have a similar free trial...
and 95% people here minimum probably can't read Jap and don't want to set up an English patch so it's moot
you might as well be telling people to go play Blue Protocol
The game is in a shit state because super kawaii miqote #358357893275932 can't handle anything other than taking bunboy "I think I am an alpha male" cock daily.
xiv e-celebs complain about this game because MSQ and whatever FOMO endgame (savage/ultimate) is now over and they don't have stuff to do to grind for views so they resort to the next popular ffxiv related thing... complain about it. they can't milk the game with gameplay but they can milk it by reacting to whatever another grifter said or whatever criticism they encounter.
People who can't take criticism of the game are probably the same type of people that will consider unalive themselves because they saw a text "YWNBAW" and imagine it was directed at them
and fuck all to do a month later.
Stop rushing.
Stop week 1 clearing.
Stop skipping cutscenes.
Stop speed reading.

make savage force min ilvl for the first month then.

Bullshit, Lyse did all kinds of stuff for the Resistance and stepped up when they'd had most of their existing leadership killed off. First time ever I am not excited, in the fucking slightest
new writer is terrible and a hack.
I'm excited but we're so far away from release
This is the real killer. Summer technically extends into the first week or so of September and I fully expect SE to push their summer '24 release window as far as they possibly can. And that's assuming zero delays. I see a lot of people speculating June/July as the release date but I don't buy it. We're in for a long 10 months.
xiv got too simplified with shadowbringers job changes. stormblood had changes but classes were still fun, engaging and unique
yoshitpiss ruined the game and now its filled with tranny catgirl cock modders
I wonder what they're implying with this.
NUTKIN on ystholas tummy.
Lyse is great because she went off to fuck around for a while and when she came back in the garlemald arc is was refreshing. send graha tia and alisaie to some fuckoff place for a pew more patches.
Mnk, rpr or sam ? Trying to decide on a melee DPS to level early on and later bring into the role quests
reaper is boring as fuck
sam is whatever
mnk is fun
MNK gets its full rotation at 60, I'd start there. Once you get that job down the rest of the melee DPS are much easier to wrap your head around
I just don't care for Graha.
I understand why he is the way he is but he should really go Crystal Exarch more often
Weebslop tranny game.
This will be false until an actual tranny gets added to the game.
It doesn't need to contain trannies to be a tranny game, it just needs to appeal to trannies and have a tranny fanbase, both of which are true.
Aside from that, picrel.
You mean the heterosexual alpha male that fucked some 7'0" amazon tomboy to make the absolute units that comprise the Garlean royal family?
>You mean the heterosexual alpha male that fucked some 7'0" amazon tomboy
lol his side-story on the website says his body was a normal garlean and his wife was also a normal garlean, what happened was his soul counted more for having kids than his actual body's DNA did so varis's dad, varis, and zenos all came out part ancient
There is nothing abnormal about 7'0" Garlean tomboys.
I'd rather have trannies play the game than trannies make the game.
New expansion reminds me a lot of Aht Urhgan
I hope we get Besieged-like content
The pure chaos was so much fun
>New expansion reminds me a lot of Aht Urhgan
I think given the new raid, it's a given where their inspiration was from.
Good, although I want the raid to be entirely Promathia focused so we can get not-Prishe and go to the absolute kino that is Al'Taieu and then eventually the Empyreal Paradox
>I hope we get Besieged-like content
XIV can barely even handle 300 people in the zone on an S-Rank, let alone the 700 XI allowed into Besiege.
I'd be fine if it were only like 100 people or less per instance with waves of enemies
Nanamo no! Don't cast Flare! You're only level 15!
W-what's gonna happen if she casts it?
The game needs to stop shoving the interesting characters to the side the moment their expansion is over while forcing the same boring scions on us over and over.
this character had less screen time than the retarded elephant in Endwalker.
Interesting characters remain interesting because they are shoved to the side instead of being ruined by MSQ MCU-tier treatment...

Performance trailer > Job skills trailer > teaser trailer > final trailer > extended teaser trailer
I only watch the teaser/final trailer and job action trailers. People who watch the actual expac trailer that drops a week or so before release (and people who watch patch trailers in general) are weird as fuck and intentionally spoil themselves for no reason
How can you not watch all the trailers, they hype it up.
More importantly
>new glamours

>Another dual wielding class that was "highly demanded" (there was 0 demand for it, only corsair)
>It completely lacks any semblance of a theme, it just swings swords around and tapes them together for 60s burst
>By far the most unoriginal and boring looking job they've ever added
>only corsair
>i clapped when i saw thing i recognised etc.
If the community had its way, the only jobs you'd ever see would be some colour of mage.
>Purple mage
>Green mage
>Pastel mage
>Sky blue mage
>If the community had its way, the only jobs you'd ever see would be some colour of mage.
Thats how CBU3 designs jobs already. Red DPS, Green DPS and Blue DPS with sprinkles in the shape of different weapons. Are you blaming the devs shit effort on the players?
How will they even do a Stormblood MSQ Ultimate when the story is so stupid? With DSR they were able to celebrate Heavensward's story while also playing into fan's expectations and thoughts
I'd rather see a weird ultimate where the levels are really open and strange, like being underwater, Shirogane towers, Steppe
Kill Lyse
4 lords kino
ULTIMATE
MEGA
SUPER
ULTRA
ZENOS
>Every fight is just Zenos fusing with the boss and ranting about friendship and 'the hunt' not satiating him
Wasn't there some super powerful evil thing sealed in Hell's Lid? Just make Shinryu Zenos crash into it and absorb it or something.
>Skip the MSQ and go directly to Eden
>Four lords instead of MSQ
>The non-omega content from the raid series
>Some sort of DSR style alternate timeline that gets real wacky
>Make it a full on Zenos ultimate that pulls everything from shb and ew as well as sb
Another thing is that as we move forward they open up more options for ultimates, trial series, side quests, hell even alliance raids and whatnot could be used.
cope nagger. ilberd is seethign eternally.
what
But Ilberd won.
They should do less Ultimates and make sure they're good, like TEA rather than more and shitty ones like DSR and TOP
Tea is extremely boring while both DSR and TOP are interesting all the way through. The only cool part of TEA is the final phase cutscene and codex which was cheated anyway.
Maybe DSR is more fun as a non-tank but holy shit that fight is boring as sin as a tank. I've never had such a boring time progging a fight as DSR
Less work overall than the current Ults which are 5 shorter fights in one.
>dropping an ultimate and balancing it for EW when they already are busy with balancing DT content for level 100
You'd have a point if the gap between 6.5 and 7.0 wasn't 8-11 months, it would be theoretically releasing 4-5 months after the last raid tier.
okay... I've got an idea... Four Lords Ultimate
Zenos fuses with shinryu and koryu
do you guys actually like the gameplay of this game or do you just play it for waifus or husbandos
the words mmo and gameplay have never mixed well
Some lore nerd help me, what is Garlemald and Thavnair's relationship?
Probably low tech tools or raw materials for Hispanices and dyes. Some curry with a lot of taters sounds good right about now.
Thavnairian chicken biryani or goat curry probably goes fucking crazy.
>Garlemald and Thavnair
WHO?
Excited for Viper?
it'll be something "new" to sink my teeth into at least, but it starting at 80 means it'll both not have much of a leveling curve to deal with, AND be probably really fucky at lower levels
No, where's my whip class?
I'd kill for a Belmont class with throwables and a steel whip.
Whip class for next Ranged Phys
whip class will probably be the next limited job
>Something that would be a launch class or just equipping another sword in your off-hand is the main job for DT
I sleep. Why the fuck would even make something so bland the main expansion job?
It's about bland as samurai. We know fuck all about it right now.
>add proper PBR material handling to the engine
>still can only do one material per model, unlike 1.0 which did 2-3 depending on the armor type involved
How do you mean, one material per model? The coat (chestpiece) alone has metal, two leathers and off-white cloth.
One shader per mesh, which means they either have to go for a balanced look, or cater it towards one of the pieces of clothing present in the armor.
Looks pretty spiffy and cleanly separated to me. I won't mistake the texture of the cloth shirt for the leather coat or the metal shoulderpads.
I wanted pirate
They didn't show enough to know either way.
I’ll come back to play if they give me Hrothgar women that look like this
You know damn well they're just going to be fem Roes with bodypaint 'fur' and a muzzle slapped on.
Ill take that.
We've already seen their full body texture anon.
When? where?
It's applied to a highlander model but you get the idea
they either SERIOUSLY need the updated fur shader the hrothgar are getting, or femhroths are literally just the bare minimum of tufts of fuzz on top of normalish shaped female bodies for the laziest solution
Well, none of the PBR capabilities are implemented yet until 7.0.
I'm mildly concerned this means we are just getting but I won't throw my final judgement till we see the head I just really don't want miqo'te but more hair.
Also animations.
>What? You guys don't get an erection from petting your car?
>mutated imperials
>biomechanical abominations
>haywire magitek
>primals with the twisted horn motifs
The 8/24 man raids are good, the music is awesome as always, etc.
>the music is awesome as always, etc.
except for Thaleia which didn't have a vocal theme for some reason
it was still good imo
Where in MSQ, 6.0? Plot from 6.1 to 6.5 is a loose FF4 retelling using the Void as the stage.
>kinda bummed hearing the island sanctuary sounded like a disappointment.
It's kinda boring in practice but it's decent mindless "relaxation" content and can be used to generate gil and materia. Eventually it devolves into spreadsheet autism. YMMV. There are some glamour sets and mounts attached to it.
Endwalker is in fact a bit barren as far as optional content goes with the majority of our content drip being
>MSQ
>three trials/EX trials which were folded into MSQ this time
>Eureka Orthos, a deep dungeon with an exceedingly low player retention rate
>Sil'dih Subterrane, Mount Rokkon and Aloalo Island, variant/criterion dungeons and functionally a replacement for the Hard dungeons that used to populate patches and expert roulette
>Pandaemonium, Ancient testing ground for weird/dangerous concepts. Surprisingly very good story and tries some variations in raid arena designs again, though a lot are still circles or squares
>Twelve alliance-raid has just finished. Still not as good as Ivalice in my opinion but better than Nier
>PvP overhaul resulted in new movesets for all jobs and Crystalline Conflict, a TF2 payload tug-of-war with a 5v5 player matchup
>Fall Guys was added to the Gold Saucer but will only last around a month more before becoming "seasonal". It's a good MGP grind and has some exclusive glamour rewards but depending on how you feel about nylon zip-up hoodies and beanies shaped like Fall Guys beans the rewards may not be worth it
>Relic weapons are a 1500 infinitely-acquired tomestone cost, no further strings attached. You can do daily roulettes and move your relic up a step currently and it'll probably shift over to Poetics come Dawntrail. Boring, but there's no other content to really attach relics to, so it's fine
weapons are a 1500 infinitely-acquired tomestone cost, no further strings attached.
The fact that there is no gameplay or content associated with the relic is just depressing.
>he didn't do the hildiquestline for each expansion before moving on to the next expansion
im a lorechad, i make sure i do all the content for each expansion before moving on to the next one
yes, I still have moogle ptsd...
>No gameplay
Nigga previous relics were just about farming old or current content it was also lazy and boring AND took longer.
They could call it
>The aetherochemical weapons
and the story/acquisition of the relics could be the exact same, except you're buying some alchemical shit from Nidhana instead of some meteorites. The relics being tied to Hildi does not matter in the slightest, the relics don't even have any story to begin with.
The other relic stories are pretty barebones, but EW relics have no story at all. It's just Gerolt making some weapons with meteorites and Godbert's piss
6.0
i was spoiled on some of the content like the raids being alright
but i was curious if there was more than just raiding
my goal is to at least clear some savage content, but if there's other shit between raids to do, i wouldn't mind
maybe i'll sub for just a month and see where things go
thanks for the summary anon
>matsuno dickrider
instant disregard.
bozja was dogshit. kys.
Show us on the doll where Matsuno touched you.
Bozja was literally the best gameplay content the game has ever seen.
nah retard it was slop . eureka was better.
bozja was boring as fuck
You are unironically correct
wait until 6.55 probably so you can do the entire post EW MSQ in one go
how long would it realistically take to level VPR from 80-90?
The problem with EO is that it's horrible with bad pugs, but an organized group could probably blast through 21-30 and get good XP
>boundless job skill opportunities
Its going to be shadowbringers 3 with even more depth removed from jobs
Sorry, but I'm gonna be too busy for any of that. Got fem hroths to lewd pose
>start levelling a job from 1-90
>actually having fun in the dungeons
????
Learning what's new for each job and grinding up towards a cool new AF armor is most of what gets me through X.0 to X.1 expansion launch periods
I wish all new jobs started at 1, or maybe 30 so I can instantly PVP on them, new jobs should not start at 70-80.
>I wish I had more grinding to grind
>BLM Job quest has void lore
More topical now with 6.0 than before.
The black mage job quests were really cool, there's a lot more to them than people might remember.
How come Stormblood didn't have any China in it?
cuz garelmald, mhiggers, and doman chinks were boring trash.
saved by literal mongolians.
Doma is supposed to be China, and Hingashi is supposed to be China. And yeah, I know that Doma takes a lot of Japanese shit anyway because they're not a 1-to-1 shit and are more of an amalgam, but still, Doma is not-China, and Hingashi is not-Japan
So all the Japanese self-loathing in Stormblood is actually China le bad posting ?
>and Hingashi is supposed to be China
meant to type Japan
yes
>Doma = China
>Hingashi = Japan
>Azim Steppe = Finland
Yugiri!
she's cumming back, right
I'm cumming on her back, yeah.
I like starting at level 1 because it makes me learn the muscle memory for the job in all level ranges, which is good for me because I'm a casual that just does roulettes
LET ME TRANSMOG INTO A HROTHGAL AND SIT ON MY BOYFRIEND'S FACE ALREADY
swap altiascope with castrum
this and it's perfect, also a few more >s between Gulg and everything else
Atiliascope is good because it uses the Labyrinthos theme and I love that theme
Reminder that Dawntrail's mexilizard story arc will be resolved halfway through the MSQ then it's back to fighting eldritch horrors from beyond the stars.
Pic related is Fanfest concept art that cannot be attributed to any existing character and with the reveal of THE ELIMINATOR it's clear we are going to deal with evil god motherfuckers right off the bat again.
>finally done with stupid BIG BAD EMPIRE dot headed naggers
>muh big bad SPACE empire naggers now
FUCKING HIROI YOU homosexual.
>DAWNtrail (sun motif)
>big bad is a LIGHT GODDESS
>LIGHT... LE BAD!!!!! AGAIN!!!!! THIS TIME FOR REAL!!!!
Fuckin add this as an Orchestrian roll Square, do another XIII collab! I need to jam with my Noel outfit on
people will complain even more about 'filler content' if there's not SOME kind of world ending thread. Just look at the 6.X storyline
Will they let Mizuta do the alliance raid soundtrack?
they would be fools not to
>it turns out the alliance raid is not actually a ffxi callback but actually a ffxi lore continuation with new bosses and music
ah, the old yoko taro. hard confirmation of a link between eorzea and vanadiel would be great
I'm down with fighting more of Ultima's alien species, that would be kino
I thought for sure the 6.1 through 6.5 story was leading up to rehabilitating the Void, like Eden writ large
the overarching plot will be figuring out what happened to Azem. you know, trailing the dawn
We already know what happened to Azem, they got sundered and part of their soul became the Warrior of Light
there's a gap between Venat telling him about the plan and what he did in the meantime till the sundering
imo it would have been a 1.X -> 2.0 reflection with just running around and doing everything that can be materially thought of to try and avert societal collapse on the ground level, before going to a "battle of cartenaeu" with the sundering itself as an inevitability
i mean, there's nothing stopping an Azem construct to still be alive, similar to the twelve. We could be introduced to him early on and we tail him the entire MSQ, ala the first section of FF7. but instead of the man in a black cloak, its a man/woman with grape stained hands
Wrong.
Because Azem was so strong, he kept one part of his consciousness alive by jumping in the volcano.
Considering the color theme of the expansion is gold, the color that is most commonly associated with the sun, you're probably right. Also the patch content has pretty regularly shown WoL with the underwater dream sequences of Azem's memories, I wouldn't be surprised if those come into play somehow
have we found any other azem symbols since the one in alzadal's legacy?
Pandaemonium ends with a wide open door of ***WHO*** is handing out the evil space rocks that are not native to Etheirys.
there's a line connecting Meteion, Ultima the High Seraph, Dynamis and auracite. i know it!
>Pandaemonium was written by the current Dawntrail MSQ writer
Goodtrail.
we do adjust we adjust to the point where the healers ceases to exist and go full solo mentality. Im talking using potions to heal in weaker dungeons
Well we ARE going home anon, what did you expect?
FFXI alliance raid leaves wiggle room for WoL shitting a brick at the knowledge that the larger universe or multiverse does have true gods in it, assuming they touch on Promathia or Altana whatsoever. I hope to God that Shantotto isn't a part of the raid but I know she will be since she's a FFXI mascot character
what's one small change that could legit kill the game or very seriously fuck things up?
eg letting aetheryte tickets be sold on mb
>eg letting aetheryte tickets be sold on mb
what would be the consequences of this?
>letting aetheryte tickets be sold on mb
>kill the game
??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
short term market crash across the board because people aren't spending hundreds on gil anymore
long term hunts become unusable and bots would would camp all B A and S rank spawn locations because hunt seals would finally have a viable gil dump
You could have teleporting pay people gil instead of costing gil and it wouldn't change anything, the average person has probably 20-50 mil at this point. I'm sitting on billions as it is.
how to make monie?
Removing the mods because modtrannies have legit dysphoria on patch day and can't stand looking at vanilla characters. Them quitting would make the majority of now crowded places empty and no one else would want to stay online in an empty game either since whether it's a normalfag that wants to chat or a pve/pvp nigga that needs to show off latest glam and title they rely on getting stared at be everyone else.
Removing third party software. The fallout will be glorious.
genuinely don't think that many people use 3rd party
Idk what the general term is for mods, cheats, and addons. I do know I want them gone.
Expected standard features in an MMO.
Yeah people overestimate the use of mods. Especially considering a large chunk of the playerbase plays on playstation.
people overestimate the use of mods
people always make the mistake of thinking that twitter represents the general population. Not only with XIV but with everything, really.
>75% of people have twitter to see 25% of the garbage people post
And then they filter it here for some godforsaken reason.
How long before the WoL goes apeshit and murders an entire village?
Hopefully soon. I dont care for krile, alisaie, graha tia. Can you imagine doing the same ol fucking quests for those homosexuals again?
let me help aenor laid by big bangaas, let me help riol, let me help hoary boulder and coultenelt for gods sake.
>new raids
Who gives a fuck, unless they change the itemization the rewards will still be garbage
>new story
If it's the same writers as in EW, it will be some cringe anime shit again
>boundless job skill
>boundless
You will have your 2 minute burst kit and you will like it
>it will be some cringe anime shit again
XVI had cringe anime shit. Most of this franchise is anime shit.
Cringe levels were manageable up to EW. But having a e-boi bird as the main arch-villain of the entire game is a bit more than I can take.
>t. someone who only gets opinions from ecelebs
>anon, do you have any idea what black mages could get in dawntrail?
Yes, another big nuke that needs some kinda gauge to be filled to fire.
and a fine big nuke it will be
but imagine if it's not tied to a gauge. What if they added a fire spell that increased in potency base on how long your fire phase lasted? Like a mega-despair that would do fuckhuge potency when you extended your fire phase with manafont.
What if they added paradox again?
What if they added Thunder V?
>XVI had cringe anime shit
XVI had cringe Game of Thrones shit you cock.
For like two hours.
>i watch asmongold, the post
anon, do you have any idea what black mages could get in dawntrail?
do you have any idea what paradox being added to the game means?
the sky's the limit
>no WoL, I, Graha Tia, will sacrifice myself to stop the Ultimanians... just promise me that [insert stupid shit here]...!
alright cya
But the Great Gubal theme is fucking kino
yes but the dungeon sucks ass
can i get ff14 gf female (pls)
i had a dream i did so i gotta try
Post your character and I’ll give you one
i meant irl my bad
I can’t help with that then, especially cause I want one too
>ff14
>gf
>girl
pick 2
Half the playerbase is women.
yes. so no girlfriend. just friends who are girls. see how that works?
but they're filthy fujoids
I know 2 biofems irl who play FF14 and they play it with their bfs. So yeah it's technically possible but since you're posting here, realistically it isn't
>biofems
With normal people I'd just say women, but here everyone would imply that they're trannies
If the big bad of the Dawntrail arc is an evil space goddess then she must be at least THIS BIG during her Trial fight. NO EXCUSES.
Just like Lakshmi
My wife is really big!
>make Sildhn Subterrante party
>fills like 5 times with people who thought it was aloalo
Can't wait for every single lv100 capstone to be a flavor of "existing skill gets a new particle effect and 200 more potency" or "existing combo chain gets another finisher"
>They rework the jobs so they can add entirely new skills and setups
>People cry
>They don't rework jobs and limit themselves to slight alterations visually and damage wise
>People cry
>stick exclusively to two extremes rather than finding a middle ground with iterative design
>they way they have for BLM, proving that they understand how to design jobs that evolve over time and they've simply too fucking lazy to do it
yeah gee i wonder what the problem is
Or you realize that they don't have to reinvent the wheel every expansion and that if a job is in a good spot they can and should do something simple and call it a day.
I have faith. YoshiP is going to give black mages something really cool.
>For every 1 person that hates Bozja, there's 50 that love it.
Little backwards there chief, only 8% of the playerbase even stepped foot into Zadnor.
really? seems low. i'd have guessed around a quarter. where are you getting that number?
Why did you attach the image to your post? What does it add to the discussion? I don't fucking understand you avatarfags
>I don't fucking understand you avatarfags
>ME ME ME LOOK AT ME LOVE ME LOOK AT THE THINGS I'M DOING LOOK AT MY ACCOMPLISHMENTS LOOK AT MEEEEEE
All avatarfags can do is laugh the above off and say "lol u mad tho?"
>only 8% of the playerbase even stepped foot into Zadnor
Exactly, but everyone loves Bozja right? Or maybe the don't and they hate it because they didn't reach Zadnor?
Maybe the first area was too hard? Too long? Too fun?
It doesn't really matter all that much.
Still more popular than Savage
In my experience it's the old players who've been playing since HW that are bored with the game and complaining how stale it is. New players are still having fun
i’m an shbabby and i got tired of pandaemonium. mechanics weren’t interesting and i was playing smn so my job wasn’t making it very fun either
>starting to get through to Ph5 enrage in TOP in about one in eight pulls
Might be hope my group finishes this shit before the expansion comes out at the limited rate we can run this shit. How bad is ph6's DPS check at present with the current gear/pots/potency-buffs since its original release? Mechanically it looks like a joke since it's just two exaflare patterns, and stacking puddles. Rest is just LB3 timings/tank buster heals.
It looks deceivingly easy, if anyone dies it's immediately over, if a single mit is missed it's instantly over.
>if anyone dies it's immediately over, if a single mit is missed it's instantly over.
With BiS and a nomech pots+cd window on p6 you should clear it fast once people get comfy with dungeon difficulty mechs + exas that are infinitely practiceable in xivsim.
the asura trial from fanfes is gonna be in the next hildibrand questline + relic? or next expansion?
Hildibrand or a standalone encounter
Everyone is assuming Hildi, but it'd be pretty cool if it was a curveball and it was in the 6.5 part 2 MSQ instead
>it'd be pretty cool if it was a curveball and it was in the 6.5 part 2 MSQ instead
there are no "curveballs" in the game anymore, everything gets immediately datamined as soon as it's possible to do so
Well you can't datamine what's not in the game yet, and that fight is not in the game yet
>everything gets immediately datamined
only if you're retarded enough to hang out in XIV threads hours before a patch
what else am I gonna do while the game is offline?
i stand at the quest giver for new quests and ‘discuss’ spoilers in say chat
I heard some fearmongering that they started banning people who do that, but I personally doubt it. I always just keep event chat up the entire time I do new patch content anyway
public chat channels like say and shout you can 100% report people for spoiling in
you can report people for anything. whether a penalty will be issued is another thing
>anymore
They explicitly spell out what they plan to release. The only time it's a curveball is when YoshiP changes his fucking mind and starts making excuses about "engine limitations"
it’s ironic because yoshida is known as the mmo man, but as soon as i heard that he was gonna make dawntrail multiplayer focused, i knew it was over. this man has been steeped in the singleplayer jrpg mentality for so long that he has not a SINGLE bone within him that understands how to make fun multiplayer content
ok
I'm curious what he means by that. What does he think a "multiplayer focus" is? If he means encouraging people to socialize and make groups by designing the content to incentivize and maybe require socialization and grouping, that'd be a great idea.
Does he mean FFXI multiplayer or world of warcraft multiplayer, is what I'm trying to get at.
you ever wonder why the msq is so easy?
All things considered you have played the game so much that it's now easy to you until you hit hardcore. For idiots and those not very good at video games, they'll die plenty throughout the game because of "that one move", "that one boss", etc, and there are difficulty spikes. It's just everyone else will carry them.
but its an msq thing with trusts. even if you don't know yshtola executes it perfectly its still pretty bad when you can't beat it with 2 reraise charges and your party being designed to succeed
some people are just retardedly stubborn about not using trusts I guess, I wasn't referring to the PF but in general
Criterion and Criterion Savage are easy, actually.
Remove the glam chest limit. I'm not asking nicely anymore.
Humble game studio please understand!
>Queenbean title
Into the voidlist you go.
>having titles visible
homosexual.
>do normal raid roulette
>go to commendations
>whatever, just gonna commend any of the healers
>first healer is a male midlander WHM with skimpy girl clothes
>ok not that one
>second healer is another male WHM, but this time an elezen (also with skimpy girl clothes)
it's all so tiresome...
Tanks adjust
>using regen
>on a WAR
That's a whole fucking GCD my man, don't talk about shit you don't know. If they were worth their salt, they would have been waiting until you dropped below 20% to pop bene.
thats what happens when the retard in charge of the game lets players afk in crystal tower to get to level 90 instead of actually challenging them
Today I encountered a level 90 healer, who had no less than 6 other jobs at 90, who did not know what the healer LB3 did and was startled enough to ask about it in chat.
Roulettes really open my eyes to some of the issues in todays gaming world.
>go to commend people
>they all rush out of the dungeon
>play red join a duty roulette
>get Aitiascope
>tank pulls as many as they can at the start, tank dies didn't even use any buffs, healer dies, other dps dies
>I pop swift cast and alternate veracure to get dualcast to throw to revives at everyone while still standing
>not even a thanks or commendation fucking ingrates should have abandoned
realistically what can they do to switch up the combat and make it more interesting
>talents/options
players will complain about being locked out of content when your build isnt meta
>netcode/ skills actually affected by terrain
archaic 1.0 engine that they cant really make big changes on
>harder and more unique rotations
doesnt really make the encounter design more interesting but it does make the jobs more interesting to play
None of the above thankfully since they don't need to switch anything up.
but you surely want some new and fresh ideas for the combat no
Combat being more dynamic in regards to the level would be cooler, that's about it.
No, I don't want them to turn the combat upside down for no reason, it's fine as it is.
>locked out of content when your build isnt meta
It does happen man, people have all sorts of crazy mentalities about jobs.
Shit was bananas.
>the usual MMO classism
If XIV is so bad then why does every thread here reach 500 posts? That's what I thought.
these threads are the designated shitting street of Ganker
just do borrowed power like logos and lost actions so we can have fun things that won’t get in the way of the autistic 8 clowns dance routine that’s raiding. we could have pve push the cart, base defense, any other kind of pve game mode that isn’t current raiding
Raiders will cry if any player will be able to do raids and the content is fun/different.
they already have the usual 12 savage raids, 3 ultimates and 7 extremes on top of criterion being 4man savage. they are some of the most catered-to players in the game, they don’t need any more content
Oh and zones are fucking dead always because there is no fucking reason to be in a zone doing anything.
This is the biggest problem with the game. But it’s not a simple concept of, “just put more Fates”, you want everything to feel like Limsa.
And off comes the homosexual's mask.
Wow! Cool Ganker-tier post!
You’re right! Everything is bad!
>and fucking nothing to do like a few weeks later and then all the new patch content is done in a day.
Not every game lasts forever and you shouldn't really play it non-stop with little else to cleanse the palette just because you want some sorta forevergrind game. Anyone that eats that shit up on WoW genuinely disturbs me.
The game should justify my monthly subscription.
If the game has a few hours worth of content every 4 months there is no reason to pay.
You're a homosexual. I CC every day despite having all the rewards because I enjoy killing gay bunnyboys with fireballs.
I'm caught between wanting a low-stakes adventure and something that puts us in actual comprehendible danger. Maybe one of the tribes will sacrifice Alphinaud to their god or something.
leaked storyboard of a scene in Dawntrail
Aliases would never instigate a Kissu.
How nice of Alphinaud to give his bro a friendly kiss on the cheek! As is custom in the New World.
W-why didn’t they show aliphino in the trailer
He's being bullied by Krile who is wearing the new casting job gear
He's there on the boat, but whatever part shows him up close probably ties to something they're hiding, like catwoman or krile's outfit or Ryne and Gaia's secret appearance no seriously why did Gaia have one voiced cutscene out of nowhere that's really freaking weird.
Probs this.
Patch 6.55 MSQ Part 2 will have them finishing having a traversable portal between the 1st and Source.
homosexual
I would find it weird if they bought her VA back just for like 2 lines or whatever the fuck it was.
>no seriously why did Gaia have one voiced cutscene out of nowhere that's really freaking weird.
i honestly think yoshi and the current writers have a boner for gaia. meanwhile unkubungu and cylva got their "resolution" last expansion, so they get an honorary optional mention and a couple lines of text dialogue with no scene if you go pester them about it.
>Cylva
Who?!
Calva the Hedgehog
Reminder that apparently her name is so important she cannot tell you her real name, even now.
>Cylva was a Gladiator that borders on Dark Knight with her edgy stuff, though Branden would become a Paladin and supercede her role
>her entire story is realizing she utterly fucked up, betrayed those she came to care about after gathering them together, engaged in the darkness too readily to save her world only for it to be all for nothing
>Zero changes from Reaper to Paladin inexplicably because gotta have the Cecil change
in hindsight it really does seem like they just made an OC donut steele and poorly handled the whole thing just to not have to ask players to do the entire Shadowkeeper storyline, aka not progression gate MSQ behind 4 role quests. stupid fucking outcome in the long term of how the whole thing plays out though, especially since EW is severely kneecapped in the Eorzea threat level of the whole song of despair shit as well as any proper conclusion involving it all until you go do all the role quests.
They actually have 3 people on the boat that we can see who haven't been officially shown, Alphi himself they are going out of the way to hide which is funny.
>why did Gaia have one voiced cutscene out of nowhere
Where? In 6.5?
Yes, she shows up at the end. It'd be one thing if it wasn't voiced or if it was even earlier when Zero was around, but it happens after the plot is resolved.
Only if you completed eden.
HIROI IS GOING TO KILL OF ALPHINAUD.
He got his archon mark now

give it a score from 0 to 10

i got to rank 10 last year and i don't want to do the next 10 ranks because it's going to be the exact same circling around, collecting monsters and materials endlessly, and doing mammet workshop mobile game garbage. it has no place in the game and is a waste of time, effort, and development budget
negative fun.
Realistically maybe 2-3/10. Placing housing items is cool because you don't need multiples of the same item, and some of the rank up cutscenes are pretty fun. I also had fun hunting animals at the start.
The rest has no redeeming qualities
Free money/out of 10
I've been dumping spare cowries into the dyes the entire expansion. I've made 157 million because of it
Probably a 1/10. The only part of it that I enjoyed were some of the rewards but they could have easily been made available from any other content and the result would have been better. It is anti-fun content.

I hate you so much. Rat. We can't even get a janny to ban you because he would then erase this stealth thread too
Fuck you
I never noticed before that the pfp is that dude with the same hairstyle and glasses but as a cute anime girl.
Would he really just bait the entire audience like that for no reason?
have they gotten rid of playonline yet? because there's no world in which it still exists that you'll get even a fraction of xiv's playerbase over there
The great POL filter still exists.
its not his decision to make, and looking at square's latest financials, you can safely forget about it
If anyone could convince the new CEO that the loss of individual XI subs would be massively offset by the number of new players from XIV, it's Yoshida.
The only thing people who play XIV and people who play XI have in common is, maybe, interest in the FF brand. XIV is (unfortunately) is about as different from XI as a game can be while still being an online Final Fantasy.
XIV troons wouldn't be interested in playing XI as its an actual MMO and not a Second Life simulator.
>XIVfags akak WoWfags playing XI
Lmao are you retarded?
Before the Ally raid announcement: 1%
After the announcement: 10%
It makes sense with what they are doing and people have been pestering them for a fucking decade about it, but on the other hand they as a company have this weird disdain for XI and seem to want people to not play it.
>bozja style actions in DT variant/criterion
>variant is needed for relic steps
>roulette variant
>criterion gives gear(each boss drops different loot)
>2 endgame bis, normal savage(usual max ilvl) and criterion(5 lower ilvl than max but becomes +10 ilvl in criterion)
there I saved final fantasy fourteen : trail of dawn
MMOs and XIv don’t need “saving”, people just play them for 9 hours a day and get bored.
What of Lavos from Chrono Trigger on the SNES is in Meracydia
>Square Enix
>Acknowledging Chrono Trigger
Funny one anon.
>entire expansion will devolve into Ancients bullshit yet again
>we'll be using Azem's wack-ass crystal all expansion
its strange that they havent nerfed azem's crystal or something yet
surely they must see that its kinda repetitive now
it's actually kind of hilarious how from the end of ShB through ALL of EW that wasn't dungeon/natural trial stuff, aka the cast going down in the Atiliascope for Hydaelyn and belng able to run up to Rubicante, we just keep using the damn crystal over and over. give the WoL the natural ability or stop making world tier threats that require super summons, jesus christ
>power to summon anyone from anywhere across the rift
>can't just summon Azdaja
>can't just summon pizza man
It's a stupid device that just makes the story retarded.
I always thought it was more like manifestations of people you know. WoL never met Azdaja so he couldn't summon her if he wanted to, and even if he could, she wouldn't actually physically move
Wasn't she also tainted by being in the 13th so long?
makes the most sense.
What still annoys me is we could have learned how to better control the echo's ability to see into the past from Vanat instead of zoning out at the worst moments because echo for some reason activated.
You WILL listen to it during important emotional scenes.
No you can't make me!
Oh no anon, someone's watching you from behind a pillar 10ft away! They're gonna smirk and walk off!
AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!
They should have made it give you a personal mini-LB where you could select what the effect was.
I can see them setting up that the crystal gets shattered or loses juice, which will eventually lead up to WoL just innately learning it cause, as a surprise to no one, he's a shard of the schmuck who made the magic in the first place.
>the crystal breaks
>lorewise you learn summoning magic
>gameplay wise you learn personal LBs
Would be neat to have personal limit breaks. But knowing meta naggers, they'd find a way to make it not fun.
and more of a whole than most other if not everyone on the Source, given the Ardbert shit
honestly if they want to do silly plot armor power crap they should do more than just the Crystal, but then I don't want more Ancient shit running everything either
>learn spell
BLUE MAGE SWEEP BABY
>be careful WoL the azem crystal will run out of juice eventually
>uh actually that's just for fakout deaths, you can summon 7 bros literally whenever you want unless it's a story cutscene that isn't a trial
it ran out of Hydaelyn Superjuice™ so we can't reconstitute the dead from just their souls across space and time.
The azem crystal should have shattered after killing elidibus.
the fuck? Trusts negate the need of the stupid ass crystal. I hope Savage/Ultimate Trust becomes a thing just to watch the seethe
>It funnels shitters to endgame
Because the past expansions made competent players. XIVfags are 90% shitters 5% competent and 5% Savage ready.
>It funnels shitters to endgame
Lmao, the "endgame" in XIV is so irrelevant it might as well not exist.
>It funnels shitters to endgame
Clearning MSQ is now endgame?
>irrevocably fucked up the story
Fighting crystal mom with the Scions was pure Kino and is way better than the Azem crystal that summons the xth homosexual wearing some modern bullshit glam.
It should have broke when you brought back the Scions in Ultima Thule. Then Endsinger be a Trust Trial so storywise it would be WoL and the Scions.
I want more Shtola content.
Said content.
my reaction to said content
Why does he look like that French actor who died from skiing into a tree?
Shit, I think XVI is more tame in that regard.
>responding to a copypasta
Not an argument.
Personally I thought it was trust system that kept the Scions alive, since we needed all seven of them for the Hydaelyn trial or back in Shadowbringers Thancred was the only tank
It wasn't supposed to be an argument, it was an insult.
The absolute narcissistic retardation in this statement.
>HURR SCIONS MUST DIE REEEE
Amerifat pls go
Serious question, why do you like the Scions unironically?
They just want misery for miseries sake.
thats why i like endwalker. everyone made it through, fandango didn't get what he wanted and we even saved meteion. one of them at least.
They weren't even mentally affected by the ordeal, they just spouted their marvel quips and went about it like nothing had happened.
>buzzword
aaaaand dropped
Buzzword is a buzzword
anon, no one is impressed that you figured out the genre and how writing for an audience works. anyone with a brain figured out that Thancred wasn't gone forever on the trip to Ultima Thule, even before yshtola told you. you aren't smart for recognizing patterns. you aren't a genius for using meta knowledge to judge the narrative. you just prove that you are incapable of putting yourself in your characters position. which, honestly, i pity you for. i can't imagine how dull fantasy would be if i had your thought processes
>faked out everyone's death for emotional weight
The story is about keeping your will to live no matter how much despair you experience. WoL watches all his friends die and still presses on. It also shows the Scions character are willing to do what they did.
The game ended with EW tbh it doesn't need a new expac
>boundless job skill opportunities~
AHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA
kek how was this not filtered for spam?
because it's true, what kind of boundless job skill opportunities does that one think they'll do? They'll just going to "improve" whatever skills jobs currently do and rename it. Like for example MNK will do "Super Phantom Rush" instead of "Phantom Rush".
I hope that blue mage will become a full job…
>leveling dragoon
>just do a dmg buff + DoT combo every half minute and time it every minute with jumps and another dmg buff, it only starts getting more interesting mid-to-post HW levels
My favourite part of the Fanfast was that visitors didn't even get codes for the Fanfast emotes in the mogstation, still have to buy them in the shop.
Hit or Miss
I guess I never Miss!
/pet
good talk tonight guys. and remember, if you see a fence in the middle of the field, don't destroy it just because you don't know why its there
so what the fuck was the deal with a random ass soldier that saw Yotsuyu get treated like shit as a child, so we get an echo of it only for him to die in the middle of the echo because Alisaie cut his ass down
did they really have no better way to start an echo so random plot fucker to the deathscue
anything with alisaie is retarded and should be deleted or skipped shes trash.
"parse homosexual"
>He thinks 99% of WoW playerbase isn't this
Most WoW fags are achievement/mount naggers.
Keep up anon.
yeah, you enjoy being afk in the main city unless you play what is meta, knowing blizz cocksuckers though, you probably aren't touching non-meta specs anyway to begin with
NTA but retribution paladin here.
Before everyone start going:
>your ultimate/savage parses
>your DD cheevos
>pvp?
Yoshida knows these sad pathetic people are quite a big chunk of those who sub and doesn't want them to leave.
now is the perfect time to bring back leves as on-demand max level content for 1-8 people. and behests!
>8.0
>level cap stays at 100, new system for leveling up characters is introduced post 100
>last time jobs are added to the game
>they do a tank, healer, and ranged dps again to round everything out.
>the ranged dps is blitzballer
What are the chances of this happening?
not a blitzballer, but at the very least yoship stated that lv100 would be "the cap" and they don't want to keep escalating past that in terms of levels alone.
I'm actually glad that relics doesn't require any short of grinding because now I can save sub money for xmas gifts and play something else instead...
Bozja was pure dog shit. im so glad all you exploratory fags are getting out. stay out of my game chuds.
Baldesion Arsenal is still one of the best things they ever put in this game. I don't know how they turned right around and fucked Bozja up so bad. I used to joke that SE had a team specifically to take ideas they come up with and fuck them up as much as possible before implementation and the longer things go the more I think I might have been right.
eureka is thriving. matsuno was so fucking lazy and a hack im glad he was disgraced as left.
>muh big brain trust the plan gabranth
>muh mikoto
>muh misijia
>muh field notes
fuck off forever in disgrace matsuno you shitter.
>Baldesion Arsenal is still one of the best things they ever put in this game.
It has a horribly low clear rate and the fact that you need to join a discord and be at the mercy of the mod there to get into a run is fucking awful.
>the fact that you need to socialize in an MMORPG to do content is fucking awful
second life players everyone....
Like any other difficult content in an MMO.
Don't know what you're on about.
I joined the EU one and they do constant new player runs. Just listen to discord callouts.
Cleared 1st time on my 1st run and never died once.
Must be an NA thing.
Yea thats not required in the least thats just the community taking a thing and fucking it up which the XIV community is fucking fantastic at doing.
>WAHH WAHHH WAHHH I HAVE TO SOCIALISE?
You
ahh same scions
ahh same mechanics
ahh same tomestone farming
ahh crit direct hit det
The only thing you're going to run with it is the shit you cleared to get the gear.
Different teams.
They tried XI but HD with XIV 1.0
I played 1.0 and the gear was way different from XI. They tried to push fully player crafted economy with no gear drops and no repair npcs. That shit just did not work early on.
Oh 100% 75 Era was the best current XI is a fucking mess.
Subs are way lower just try a private server. Horizon is decently busy and they're doing like an Era+ thing where they're slowly rolling out xpacs. Not sure on others I haven't paid a lot of attention I think catseyexi is a newer one though.
>best example of gearing in an mmo
Maybe back during CoP, but current year XI gearing is shit and a complete clusterfuck.
Entirely different styles of games, they aren't trying to be anything like XI or any other MMO, they've realized that easy gearing makes for better gameplay in the type of MMO they want to make.
>How dare you criticise the "MMO" systems
Honestly the problem with XIV.
None of the players can handle if you criticize it.
Yea I don't get the weird cult behind XIV and how dare you criticize their perfect game. I don't really remember this being a thing pre Shadowbringers.
>None of the players can handle if you criticize it.
I criticize the game plenty, some points people disagree, some points people agree. I guess you mean the guys who post about "doomsissies" and nonsense like that?
Most people are fine with criticisms that aren't pants on head retarded like the ones itt
Yeah how dare anons recommend ways a self proclaimed "MMO" can be turned back into an MMO and not a Second Life simulator.
Maybe try criticizing the game without resorting to buzzwords and people will take you more seriously.
>NOOOOOOOOO STOP CALLING IT WHAT IT IS.
>Its not a MMO because.....because I say so!!
Lol what MMO functions are there?
Theres no one in the overworlds.
You only see other players when you go into a dungeon and no one really speaks.
>what MMO functions are there
play the game
>Can't answer the question.
Top kek.
>complains about a game he cannot play
Top kek.
I have a legacy character try again anon.
>I-I've been playing since 1.0, tottally!
classic
now go back to wow, rat beneath my boot.
little nagger.
proof?
show me screenshot of your tattoo so I can say:
>modded
>We can totally take criticisms guys!
refer to
you don't get sarcasm unless i type:
>/s
...right?
>What the fuck is with this wave of retards recently that keep screaming about the game needing to change to meet their personal criteria? Is this an e-celeb thing?
several ecelebs are bitching, yes, including raiders and whoever the fuck that lynx guy was trying to make a big statement about the "Downfall" while blaming MSQ streamers and non-raiders for the state of the game. that and WoWfugees running amok falseflagging because their game is literally having to bring back the man that killed it, Starcraft and Diablo to salvage it after its been skullfucked into the dirt already
I want to give it a try, shame it doesn't have a similar free trial...
it should go on sale soon for around $10 and that comes with a free month
When they announced trusts, thats when I knew it was over.
Even Dragon quest X is more of an MMO.
and 95% people here minimum probably can't read Jap and don't want to set up an English patch so it's moot
you might as well be telling people to go play Blue Protocol
It's not even that hard.
Run DQClarityx.exe and the game automatically does it for you.
Well I should say the program.
But all acts from 1-6 are handtranslated and everything else is deepl translated.
Basically this and its caused legitimately criticisms of the game to be heavily drowned out by dumbasses blaming e celebs and wow players.
People who can't take criticism of the game are probably the same type of people that will consider unalive themselves because they saw a text "YWNBAW" and imagine it was directed at them
