Aight here’s a scenario. Your house is on fire and you want to save a game. Sure, in a house fire you’d probably prioritize something like photos or something like that. Let’s assume that anything like birth certificates and any other info is kept in a fireproof safe. We won’t have to worry about that. We only think of something sentimental to us.

But in this case it’s a video game that means so much to you that you are willing to save it. Bear in mind that you’re only able to save one game. What game would you save from the flames, and why?

I have about a dozen copies of Halo 2. You said I'm allowed to save one video game so I assume I'm allowed to save all of my copies of halo 2?

i would save my family and let everything burn. i have over 300 physical videogames, 100 movies, 150 comic books, 20 consoles, 3 tvs, 4 monitors, a dozen controllers and lots of collectors edition figured.

Anon, you family is perfectly safe and waiting outside for the fire department in this scenario. You however have enough time to go back inside before the flames build up to save one game and get out safely without losing your life.

So with your family safe and enough time to save one game, which one would it be?

All my games are digital so I don't really care. I guess my copy of metroid prime.

Anon, it can only be one copy of Halo 2. Only one physical disc you can retrieve. You can’t bring the other nine copies of Halo 2. Only one.

Also, why do you have so many copies of Halo 2?

shut the frick up brainlet halo 2 is a masterpiece. how about i put some of my family back in the house to trade for halo 2? i assume that's a deal i can make, since you insist i can somehow only grab one (1) halo 2 copy despite them being all in the same halo 2 skinned ammo crate, thus implying that you're fricking SATAN preventing me from performing logical actions. go FRICK yourself.

No I wouldn't, I keep almost nothing of that nature for the very reason that I don't want to be attached to these totems. I sometimes dream of a fire so that the last few things I have stuck around that were gifts would be consumed and I wouldn't have to go around taking care of them or thinking about them. Nor would I save the games. Hopefully the fire would free my from this hobbyist prison.

If I was stupid enough to walk into a raging fire despite all the truly important stuff already being safe, I guess my Sonic 1 for the Genesis. It was the first game I ever played.

Came into this thread without a clear answer, but upon reinvestigation of the original post, I can surmise that the only logical answer would be to save my eleven copies of Halo 2 since you said "one game" instead of "one copy of a game."

Since most my games are digital and on PC now I'd just grab that, but if that's not an option then Oblivion for the 360 and my old 360 harddrive which hopefully still works

Considering I can just rebuy anything I just take the most expensive game I own to save myself the time of saving up to rebuy it from reseller homosexuals later. In that case I guess Maybe Tron Bonne? That seems moronicly expensive at the minute.

Then I claim my entire collection via insurance and don't rebuy it because this physical addiction is ruining my life. I take the money and I move to a much smaller house which I can buy outright instead of paying off my current mortgage on a big house (partly to house my fricking stupidly large collection). Then I emulate everything and realize I don't actually like videogames. I just like shitposting.

Then I make a thread about a hypothetical house fire for (yous)

I’d take Silent Hill 2 or 3 since they were expensive. It’s weird you say this, because my apartment complex was recently on fire. It wasn’t my building, but it was pretty close to me. No one died or anything though.

Entire scenario is unreasonable if I have a fireproof safe my most valuable and sentimental games go in there too.
