>Alakazam. >5000 IQ. >The average IQ of people is at 100

>Alakazam
>5000 IQ
>The average IQ of people is at 100
How does this make sense? With 5000 IQ Alakazam could have advanced civilization hundreds of thousands of years ahead of human plus humans would be their little minions.

    IQ doesn't mean jack shit.
It just tests if you're booksmart.
I've known plenty of booksmart people who can't function in society.

Alakazam obviously doesn't have an IQ of 5000. Otherwise why would it participate in glorified dogfights?

      You don't know IQ means

Youre moronic, IQ is only representative of problem solving skills and reasoning. Like that anon said, IQ has nothing to do with socializing and being able to develop a society.

No, they're all supposed to be true. The reason they don't make sense or are contradicted is just because Gamefreak is terrible at worldbuilding.

    >the average IQ of humans in pokemon is the same as that of real life humans
    >IQ measurements in pokemon are 1:1 of that with real life, despite the latter not being so precise as to be rated in the thousands
    >the smartest humans in pokemon are less intelligent than alakazam
Citations, homo? Also, how many Alakazam are there and how many years do they live?
Humans in pokemon can survive very high temperatures btw.

Because Pokemon and Humans exist as two sides of the same coin. Neither can reach their full potential without the other. For I deemed it so. Now never question me again.

Pokemon are manifested cosmic angels who guide and live with humans as obedience to God. Humans are in the image of God and why pokemon love humans.

IQ shit is the most moronic cringekino.
    There's a couple of options.

The first is that IQ tests are close enough to identical to real life, and that the average intelligence of people is the same. A result of 200 or more is contentious, and it looks a lot like dick measuring nonsense. So Alakazam either lied to the child recording the info, which is cringe, or it knew how to cheat the test so badly as to expose it's ridiculousness, which is incredibly based.

The next option is that superintelligence is a normal power in the Pokemon world.
Being '50 times smarter' than the average person sounds impressive, but the Pokemon world is riddled with teleportation, 7 second healthcare, and is generally implied to be post-scarcity.
It might be that there are just occasionally human supergeniuses who dedicate themselves to some specific calling.
There was someone in ancient times who made the child-friendly blueprint for weightless storage from fruit and rock, for instance, which seems like pretty much the definition of world-shaping smarts.

Under this interpretation, given their affinity for it, Alakazam could have been the ones to teach humanity how to harness teleportation.

This entire thread is moronic and doesn't understand what IQ is but then again neither does GF. IQ doesn't measure your intelligence specifically it measures your intelligence compared to everyone else. The only thing an IQ score means on its own is telling you how rare your level of intelligence is compared to the global average. The only ways Alakazam could actually have an IQ of 5000 is if they tested IQ differently on Poke Earth or if Poke Earth had a population size many many times larger than ours especially given Alakazams are an entire species of 5000 IQ creatures.
Either that or GF doesn't give a flying frick about worldbuilding and just wanted to say "Alakazam is super smart" which is the most likely scenario

Alakazam can't exist without being owned by a trainer prior. Kadabra know that in order to become Alakazam and reach 5,000 IQ, they need to be traded. Alakazam are grateful for humans helping them achieve such a level of intelligence and serve them loyally. Not only are they loyal, but they realize humans are key to having them exist while being threatened by Ghost/Dark/Bugs, so even if they were disloyal, they would keep humans safe for their protection.

Even very smart people are vulnerable to dumb shit if they don't know how to or don't choose to respond appropriately, because that depends on emotional intelligence, current mental state, and personal weaknesses, biases, and fears.

Once your IQ gets to be in a certain range you struggle to exist in just society if alakazam had 5000 IQ the mother fricka would be crazy

  16. 1 year ago

5000 IQ doesn't even make sense given IQ is supposed to be a bell curve with 100 as the middle point, so just like you can't have a negative IQ you can't have one higher than 200.
Though Alakazam isn't human, so it might be that it breaks the scale intended for humans. However, that doesn't necessarily mean it's an unfathomably smart super-genius whose as far above us as we are to sponges. It might be just that the way it thinks is really well suited for solving the kinds of puzzles IQ tests usually contain. Like a computer can solve complex equations most humans could never solve in a matter of seconds but that doesn't mean a computer is actually intelligent.

You absolutely could have an IQ of over 200. The problem is that such odds would be in the hundreds of billions which is impossible to actually measure with any realistic sample.
And not only does Alakazam have 5000 IQ but there's an entire race of them, so in order for that to be a reliable measure the population of Pokemon's Earth would be one of the largest numbers ever computed and would be practically infinite for statistical purposes.

Alakazam only cares about itself and not insignificant humans.

It managed to invented a 4D strategy to divert more attention to itself by somehow getting a real world magician pissed off at its pre-evo's design resulting in its banning from the anime and the TCG (meaning more attention for Alakazam). It also somehow prevented the Everstone from stopping trade evos so every Kadabra HAD to evolve into Alakazam (once again, more attention to itself). Finally it also somehow manipulated events to give itself a mega that surpassed those of its superior Gen 1 rival Mewtwo.

    5000 IQ right there.
