Even I, a big Crash 4 fanboy, couldn't care less about Rumble, worst is that os a free to play modeled game with a $30 price tag, frick them.

I actually think that was Activision pushing the franchise to earn money, I'm sure TfB original idea was to release probably as a Crash 4 DLC with Crash 4 PC release a year after the original release, we even had Wumpa teasers in game and everything.

But TfB being slaved to COD Warzone skin making probably fricked everything up.

Rumble only came out because it was supposed to come bundled with Crash 4, they had some development done for it already.
It was going to be a long time before they could release another main line game for either Crash or Spyro after Crash 4's unimpressive first months sale, the mobile game shutting down within a year leaving Activision not so confident with the franchise, and spending most of their time with helping Call of Duty. The main goal of Crash Team Rumble was to give fans something on-going to hold onto while they try to get resources and time for their next game. I wish they gave us a fall guys clone instead, revolving around deathruns and platforming. Like any franchise, there's potential for a online multiplayer game- rumble was just a bad attempt. The party mode was a better attempt in a Crash multiplayer game, personally.

I think Toy For Bob can make a good Crash game.
I blame the person in charge that's meant to monitor the quality of the game. Everything's there (except cool bosses lol), it can just burn someone out quickly. That being said, I rather have a hard crash game than a Crash 3.

Difficulty was never a problem. Most of the game is just boring, bloated or often simply wrong. It has some good stages and some good ideas but it fricks up even the basics, like controls and box physics.

I never had an issue with the controls or box physics, Im able to bounce on nitro crates time to time but that benefits the player than ruin it. The camera's perspective? Now that's a fricking problem, even with the dumb yellow circle below you it can be easy to miss crates or the camera fricks with your vision of it's placement. nverted levels aren't at all interesting enough to keep you motivated and the bosses are piss boring.

Nah Crash 4 is actually really REALLY fricking hard if you go for 106%. The way that they make you mash in order to go fast actually injured the fingers of completionists, which dissuaded a sizeable amount of people from getting the game.

                Anonymous

That's because the game is long as shit for an arcade platformer and that whole triple spin mechanic is obnoxious. Even movement itself is wrong, doesn't feel remotely like in crash 2 or 3 and simply put doesn't belong in that type of fast paced platformer, it belongs in some 2.D puzzle platformer that's all about breaking boxes and slow and precise jumping, it only works well in those VHS tape levels. Even so running should have been a mandatory ability, especially because the stages are so fricking long, and even slide jump was ruined and reworked into slide/slidespin/jump. I would never dare to 106% that game because of the boxes, boring long levels and disgusting filters. And I've been speed running the original trilogy. Honestly I'd prefer to speedrun even some masochistic shit like ghosts and goblins resurrection over this garbage.

                >Everything's there (except cool bosses lol), it can just burn someone out quickly
IDK I genuinely think Crash 4 can compete to best Crash game ever, it solved Crash 3 problem of powers breaking the gane by limiting them to certain sections, it brought back the timing and precision platforming the franchise was known for in the first three ND games and modernized the formula by adding things like rail sections and wall run sections, it also expanded the scenarios so even in a platform linear level you could feel the size of the environment with beautiful drawn distances instead of tight corridors.
Only mistake they had was hiding boxes, with the length of the levels missing boxes turns the experience frustrating and sometimes even males you mad at the bullshit places they placed them. But it's just matter of looking for a guide and it's done.
Perfect Relics were a good addition, but just like Platinum Relics, they should have been optional because the crybaby unskilled homosexuals like Caddicarius would cry because they would found out they actually suck at Crash.
Nverted levels were kind of unnecessary also but I would do them with no problem while practicing for the Perfect Relics since it's just the same level bit mirrored.
Crash 4 is a solid 8-9/10 at TfB first try at a Crash Bandicoot game, the hate was undeserved.

Well Crash bros, the definitely looks like the end. Right now, your only hope is that the IP gets licensed. Either an indie game dev or by a comic book publisher. The later being important as the "Archie Sonic" comic is what kept the fandom alive during the Sega dry spells.

The video game crash of 1983 (known in Japan as the Atari shock)[1] was a large-scale recession in the video game industry that occurred from 1983 to 1985, primarily in the United States. The crash was attributed to several factors, including market saturation in the number of video game consoles and available games, many of which were of poor quality.

What are the chances that the COD half got the boot while the Rumble half remains unscathed? I know that devs teasing things only to get the shaft before those things take off isn't a new thing but they knew exactly what they were doing to the Spyro community with their constant blue balling. The official Spyro social media accounts were highly active, they chose to advertise Spyro in Rumble right before the Game Awards, that "You gotta believe!" tweet, and season 3 of Rumble being a complete drought for the later half of January until the end of February. Hell, there was even that UE5 tweet, teasing about what they'll be using the engine for when they've only used variations of it for Crash, Spyro, and Tony Hawk. Not that I'm still coping because even if the Crash/Spyro half of Toys for Bob remain untouched, they can't make games for those two IPs with only 30 people but it seems too early to declare that Rumble's dead especially with the datamines for season 4.

Call of duty makes money and they need as much help as they can to maintain that yearly release and live service aspect. Modern Warfare 3 STILL reached the monthly Top 10 charts, despite all the controversy and hate bandwagoning.
That Crash Team Rumble bundle in COD likely made more money than Crash Team Rumble itself, especially since it's available on the PC market, unlike that game either.

The criticism for Crash 4 strikes as weird to me since people seem to write the game off entirely due to the autistic nature of the collectibles in the game. It's understandable since I hated that aspect as well especially when costumes are locked behind it. But there's a lot of good stuff T4B did for the game instead of the remakes ending up being a one in done like Spyro unfortunately. Nonetheless I view Crash in the lens of "irrelevance" for now unless there's a new main series game and hope most of these layoffs bring devs together to be independent, away from all the corporate bs the industry has been plague with since time immemorial. People are the ones who drives
the IPs, not the other way around and look no further than picrel. Mania team fricked off and created their own platformer rather than slaving away with Sega. I genuinely see this game being a grand outing for them and hope to see more platformers from them too. It's time to let go of IPs that cannot be helped and turn to indies to hopefully pick up the pieces in a different direction

I thought the whole thing was about high inflation and lack of free money but high inflation started to dip ages ago. Profits can't have changed that much from 5 years ago and in MS case it's up, is everyone in tech just sheep who copy people like Elon musk or whoever is the most successful at that time?

          >no, no, you see, limitations breed creativity, that's where you get SOVL
          >AI will now give them the power to do anything so there's no limitations

I know we're expecting a gaming crash of whatever, but this seems to be all Xbox companies. I'm guessing they're going to either bail or replace people with AI

Really the only positive things I have to say about Toys For Bob is that they successfully got me completely uninterested in new Crash game, and they made an alright Gauntlet type game, even with the Toys2Loif shit.
