Can AITD '08 really be classed as a reboot considering Carnby of that game is revealed to be the same one from the 1920's and has been kept alive well into the late 2000's of the AITD universe
The 2008 game was actually a stealth sequel to the original trilogy.
wtf how
Worth noting the New Nightmare's manual and lore stated Carnby's basically reincarnated after the last one's lifetime, and the OG trilogy one worked from 1923 (AitD1) to 1940.
yeah just saw this too? will it be detective open world hub town with killing monsters n shit?
still dont get why there arent any deadly premonition knock offs (done good)
It's a hard problem for someone to look at objectively under stress. He wanted to believe in a reward for himself after going through a traumatic experience. The irony is that the transferred Simon would believe he'd gotten just that.
By the very nature of memory and experience you produce a copy with continuous experience. The 'winning' Simon would be unable to distinguish his experience from the original's, but the instance that actual experienced the events does not have a chance of being on the other side of the transfer.
The coin flip analogy holds on an ontological level, but only if your remember that Simon is playing against himself.

Frick you homosexuals, this has me excited
Ive tried so hard to play Soma and I keep quitting after that part where you get chased by the monster back to your little sea sub or whatever. The game just fricking bores me.
it's pretty clear they are just trying to copy Resident evil 7 and 2 remake but honestly I'm all for it. those games rock and I wont say more to more games like them plus it looks fun and I like the atmosphere and style
Besides I highly fricking doubt it could be any worse then the last couple of utterly shit games from this franchise. I still remember the 2008 game.
I was like 13 back when that game came out and I still remember that being one of my biggest disappointments in gaming history since all the trailers and stuff looked great.
I honestly still think even now with some serious polish and reworking that game could have been kino.
it honestly could have been too, I felt like alot fo remakes back then just needed more work and they would have been kino as hell. Like even Condemned and some other PS3 and 360 titles were pretty good
One of the local rental places had a small 3DO section with AitD and a few other games. I remember a kid picking up the box, shoving it in another kid's face and saying "Alone in the dark, that's where you jack it to gay porn every night gay."
That was the only time I ever saw anyone touch a 3DO game and the only memory I have of Alone in the Dark.
I'm sure it will definitely be better than the last time they tried to reboot it.
Different developers and publishers. Atari has never made a good video game before so it made sense for it to be shit. THQ has actual talent.
has any other series been rebooted 3 times?
Fifth time
Original AITD
New Nightmare
360/PS3 AITD
Some horde mode AITD, can't remember
This one
the first game can't count as a reboot idiot (but i forgot about illumination fair enough)
ok so has any other series been rebooted 4 times

Neat!
It is. I genuinely wonder why they ignored The New Nightmare for 2008.
The 2008 game was actually a stealth sequel to the original trilogy.
I refuse to believe this could possibly be any worse than the 2015 Co-Op attempted reboot of AITD.
if its a 7/10 REmake2 clone it will be the best thing to happen to the franchise since the first game in 1992
if that bar was any lower it would be underground
New nightmare wasn't THAT bad.vi also have some fondness for 2 as it was the only game I had for awhile on my Saturn
This. It used the Nocturne engine to great effect, those shadow/light systems were pretty damn cool, even on the PS1 version.
It also had a rather impressive GBC port
the new nightmare was good
AND FRICK YOU ANYWAY
Or better than the last time they copied RE
>darkworks
Why does this FRICKING GAME have such shit controller support I want to play it again so bad but the controller support is fricking ASS
the mouse input is even worse
yeah just saw this too? will it be detective open world hub town with killing monsters n shit?
still dont get why there arent any deadly premonition knock offs (done good)

Frick you homosexuals, this has me excited
kino incoming
YOU SAID WE WERE GOING ON THE FRICKING ARK
I still don't understand how could he fall for that after he saw his consciousnes get copied already.
hes a dumb guy trying to cope with his situation
Also, he suffered from brain damage

>mfw I lose the coin flip
literally
Is the main character played by Michael Shannon??
what if they flipped a three sided coin then what

Now I need to rewatch the Retsupraes for Alone in the Dark
>THQ
I could have swore they closed shop a few years ago.
THQ got rolled into the Embracer Group, which just bought the Square Enix western devs that did GotG, Deus Ex, Tomb Raider, etc.
I think they use the THQ-Nordic name as their publishing arm. They own quite a few developers now.
No frickinh way, really?
Dude i love the original, it used to amke me shit and pissed my pants. Can't eait to play it.
I've only played New Nightmare.
In my opinion it was great, one of the best classic Resident Evil clones I've played.
Hope it has co op. I cant play horror games alone.
The shooting looks very, very horrible.
Looks just like Resident Evil 2 and 3 remake shooting to me. Idk.
Yeah, very stiff animations, hopefully this is one of those pre-pre-pre-alpha builds or something like that, but nowadays I doubt it will change much.
>no moustache
Not my Carnby.
>trying to turn a campy pulp adventure into muh serious psychological horror
cringe
The original one made you piss and shit your pants, i hope this one does too.
My mom got really mad at me when i played the original, i shit and piss my pants.
I DON'T HAVE YOUR STONE
AND FRICK YOU ANYWAY
>looks like RE4
Youve never played it in that case.
This looks like every horror shooter from TEW to DEmake2-3. AKA: Trash.
The game has actual inventory management and puzzles, meaning it's already wy better than the dogshit that is RE4
I'm not convinced
made for bbc in the dark
looks interesting, will check it out
george floyd
>mad REM4KE isnt 1 for one
>gets mad another game is trying to fill the void
Kinda wish they went for something brighter for the house
Kino
The reboot looks alright but I'd say its just THQ's attempt at copying The evil within.
it's pretty clear they are just trying to copy Resident evil 7 and 2 remake but honestly I'm all for it. those games rock and I wont say more to more games like them plus it looks fun and I like the atmosphere and style

Darksiders was never good
t. never played the game

cool, but tell me about the '08 reboot
is it good or bad?
Why is the volume on this video shit? In fact why do many youtube videos have dead quite almost no sound compared to everything else?
>starts with underage girl singing about going to a prostitutehouse
Oh boy.
