It's going to suck. The Alone in the Dark games might have lead to the creation of memorable games like Resident Evil but the truth is they've always been deeply flawed. Plus the last two games were fricking God awful
just checked it
seems like it will be about abuse and prejudice
also, to brighten, they don't know how to work shadow
had it wish-listed by I'm passing it
it plays like shit. the camera is fricked. i think it's locked on the x-axis? It gets stuck and you have to move your mouse the other way to look around. Also it's super short and 18 fricking gigs installed jesus christ. spoilered the ending shot
wow what a fricking demo, I'm so excited for the full game.
What the frick were they thinking. If I have to say something good about it maybe the monsters look cool, and for the obviously tight as frick budget these guys have, the game looks nice enough. The kid walking like she is used to all that shit was interesting. Hope they release an actual fricking demo next time.
Considering it's a AA budget THQ game the graphics look pretty good, but the camera is fricking weirdly slippery and there are a few stutters in the usual THQ jank fashion.
The demo being a 30 second long hallway simulator with exactly one jumpscare is fricking gay though
The story seems kinda interesting. I'm intrigued by the fact that the girl is so used to the nightmare world or whatever the frick the scary section is supposed to be
I don't know shit about Alone in the Dark other then the fact that it's basically the original survival horror game. Any of the games actually good outside of historical significance?
Third game is pretty weak in terms of atmosphere thanks to the music. It's amazing just how much bad music can ruin a game's atmosphere. Take the beginning of the game for example. If you play it without music it's actually kind of spooky and atmospheric. If you've got the music playing though you get this sort of goofy twangy old time western music that kind of ruins any sense of tension.
The original's pretty good for what it is, it's short and of the puzzles in it there's only one that really comes to mind as a bit bullshit. If you're a fan of Resident Evil it's pretty fun to see all the influence it had, you'll recognize a few things like dog-enemies bursting through windows.
They've aged pretty poorly to be honest, especially the first one. The second and third game basically ditch the horror aspects altogether and had some pretty fricking horrible segments as well (specifically a lengthy forced stealth section in the second game and a really shitty platforming section in the third)
thought all alone in the dark fans had died of old age already
Bro were only in our 30s or 40s.

Too bad the Amnesia Bunker demo is also out. Bad timing.
Looks kinda cheap. But I'm downloading the prologue right now so we'll see.
If this voxel-ass motherfricker isn’t in it, I aight buying.
It's hard to imagine how I actually found this shit scary as a kid
bro this isn't the youtube comment section
frick off back to where you came
The original was less scary and more tense since just about every room is set up to kill you in radically different ways.
SO EXCITED FOR THIS PRODUCT
AND IM SO EXCITED FOR NEXT PRODUCT
Nah this is gonna suck.
>Alone in the Dark Prologue
>play as pic related
did...uh, anyone rip the model yet?

>Default UE lens flares post-process
Huge red flag, literally "my first gaem"-tier

I played Alone in the Dark on gameboy color. I thought it looked pretty impressive back in the day for a handheld.
>5 minutes of walking

A shame we never got those new nightmare sequels.
Have any of the devs revealed what the sequel(s) to New Nightmare would've had been about?
How did they afford David Harbour and Jodie Comer? The game could've used that extra budget tbh.

how

I've only played the first one and The New Nightmare. The first one can be obtuse but it's still enjoyable. The New Nightmare is pretty good.
they're all enjoyable, but the new nightmare is something else.

Game looks good, but that demo was a waste of time 18 gigs for a 5-10min long railroaded walking sim.
>18 gigs
18 fricking gigabytes for THAT?? I hate modern developers
