>randomized items and enemies
>unpredictable behavior
>weapons and grenades
>open world with multiple solutions to each puzzle
>”omnipresent” threat
>apparently some sort of time limit in place
How will this pan out?

Genuinely surprised Frictional didn’t double down on the diversity shit they pulled in Rebirth.
Rebirth wasn't even diversity shit, it was just written poorly and the game was subpar over all.
They put out a blogpost after the game flopped saying it was ackshully the players fault for not connecting enough with Tasi, not the shit story and moronic pregnancy mechanic no one asked for
Making a statement that the average gamer had a hard time connecting with a pregnant woman isn't really blaming players.
ywnbaw
He wasn't troonyposting, he was literally saying most gamers aren't/have never been pregnant women so it was a stupid choice.
homie and? I still don't think she was even the worst part of it all
>Secondary antagonist is a South African white guy that everybody unanimously hates (even the diverse mother insert who the game points out loves everyone), who is one step below calling you a 'Black person lover'
Feels like they put /misc/ in the game tbh.
I can't even begin to pretend to be excited. From Machine to Rebirth, the series has done nothing but disappoint me with its sequels. Shitpost custom stories do more with the world and mechanic than official follow ups
Oh come off it homie there's leagues worse in that game than the MC's dead squeeze
No idea. On one hand, I think the idea of having puzzles with multiple solutions and actual combat is a fun way for them to finally mix up the Amnesia formula.
On the other, I feel like too much randomization is going to make it much harder to pace and script a proper sense of dread and atmosphere. Sounds like avoiding monsters might be more of a random game of jack-in-the-box.
>randomization is going to make it much harder to pace and script
This. This is going to be what kills the game, no fricking doubt in my mind. Procedurally generated hallways might be okay for MMOs, but the curtain opens way too quickly in a game where you're doing anything but fighting hordes of mobs
sounds interesting at least, like they want to be more than a walking sim
I'll play it on Game Pass
Really cool. Once you've played an Amnesia game you've played it 1,000 times because every monster encounter is the exact same. Mixing it up, having an alien: isolation esque continuous threat stalking you instead of dudes that only pop out at certain fixed points, that could make a really cool game.
We'll see.
> Mixing it up, having an alien: isolation esque continuous threat stalking you instead of dudes that only pop out at certain fixed points, that could make a really cool game.
Alien Isolation is fricking shit.
Rebirth shoulda given you a few days trying to survive the desert conditions and navigate the area, and nights having to hide from a ghoul
sounds like shit
bvmp
>Amnesia popularizes the protagonist being defenseless and only being able to run and hide from threats when most horror games had combat
>every fricking horror game starts doing that
>12 years later, Amnesia adds weapons and combat to make itself different
The question is this:
What did Henri do?
Like, let me explain
>Daniel tortured people horribly to save his skin
>Justine psychologically manipulated people before mutilating them
>Mandus built the machine
>Tasi fricked everyone over out of a selfish desire to keep her child
So what horrible thing do you think Henri did?
He's in a ww2 bunker, so he's an ebul nazi
It’s very clearly set in ww1 you moronic mutt
Purposefully fricked around with orbs in order to summon the Shadow as a weapon
Which just now makes me question why it never came after Oswald. He had a broken orb too didn’t he? Isn’t it what gave him his initial vision of the future?
How do we know his name/that it’s open world an such? I assume there’s some articles I missed?
No idea where anons are getting "Henri" from, but the "open world" claim is from the Steam page. it sounds like Frictional don't know what that term actually means.
>stuck in a bunker
>open world
what did they mean?
If we go by the open world meme, it should be the most successful game in the franchise.
>Open world
Dropped
>randomized
>open world
frick yes, two of the worst gimmicks.
