          I have been weightlifting for over a decade but really don't give a shit about being super lean, last I measured with calipers I was sitting around 20% bodyfat - not the most accurate measurement method and its been a few months. Even when I was skinny as frick before I started lifting I was around 175-185 lbs, I naturally have a barrel chest and grew up doing a lot of long distance hilly bike riding and hiking so I always had pretty girthy thighs and calves

        Unironically might be a thyroid issue,
        At 250lbs I lstarted fasting, one day nothing except water, one day 2k-2.2k calories depending on what day it was.
        But even still I was only sloooowly losing weight after doing this for over 10 months straight. After getting a test from my doctor confirming my thyroid being the problem I tried fasting again after getting medication and lost so much weight so fricking fast.

        So if your thyroid isn't fricked up just fast, do 12 hours, then 16, then 24 to build up your tolerance if you can't handle doing 24+ hours right away, you body gets used to it pretty quickly
        Well 24 ends up becoming 24 hours + whatever hours you sleep because you don't want to start eating at the evening if you've been up since monring/noon.

    I'm 6'3" and 265 lbs with 22" shoulders, 48" chest, 38" waist

    I have been weightlifting for over a decade but really don't give a shit about being super lean, last I measured with calipers I was sitting around 20% bodyfat - not the most accurate measurement method and its been a few months. Even when I was skinny as frick before I started lifting I was around 175-185 lbs, I naturally have a barrel chest and grew up doing a lot of long distance hilly bike riding and hiking so I always had pretty girthy thighs and calves

            It's rough, anon. I was doing progress since the start of 2022 for a few months, then life threw monkey wrenches at me and all progress went down the drain and then some.
            I'm doing my best to pick up good habits again. But like I said, it is mentally rough if you couple it with depression like in my case.

            I did this, had a rather strict OMAD -type diet with a daily calorie defecit of 350 to 450. And I managed that just fine.

            Got a good gym membership that is really close, but I admit gym ws never my thing I never enjoyed that, not really. Even if I always was there by myself which I prefered. I'm too much of a hobbit. I wanna do things at home. I'm a bit lucky though, I'll most likely buy a treadmill from my friend who doesn't need it anymore. That'll suit me perfectly. If not... Then I'll just probably go for daily morning walks like I used to. It's quite comfy listening to a good radio show or a podcast while going. I've also thought about getting a few dumbells for myself, but I'll need to look into that.

            The good thing at least is that I have all the time in the world more or less. I'm not even thirty yet, though it's getting closer and I'm living on NEETbux just fine.

          Keep up with the slow process. It was for me as someone who didn't try to exercise at all when I cut down the calories. It took me 2-3 years to go from 260 to 160, but the results will be noticeable within the first few months based on people who don't see you on a daily basis. I pushed it even further when people started noticing it and told me how great I was when I had only lost about 10-15 pounds lol.

But I disagree with you in the sense that I don't have a social life outside the virtual front so I doubt I'll get any encouragement or compliments, even my own family mostly consists of people who are fudamentally a buch of sourpusses.             Thanks for telling me things I already know anon. Look, dont't get me wrong; I respect your honesty. But what you fail to understand that just getting in better shape is only a piece of my problems and I've been trying to systematically tackle them by taking steps in the right direction. I try to have better daily routines, but it's always been difficult for me, ALWAYS. Why? I don't know. ANd when life throws unexpected shit at you to take away your motivation and more importantly your focus, then you can't keep those routines up. That's what happened to me and when it did; it fricking felt absolutely terrible.

            For me what I was doing was working quite well both in mind and body. I was literally doing the things you described. And I plan on doing those things again ASAP. A little bit differently in detail but in essence the same.

    Muscle weighs more than fat, but I'm a good 30-40 lbs overweight. I never really believed in the BMI though because according to it I'd need to weigh like 140 lbs to be in the "healthy zone" for a male my height. I'm a pretty short manlet, but I feel like 140 lbs is just way too skinny for an adult male, even if he is a manlet. I'd like to get down to 160 lbs, but I probably wouldn't go below that, hell I'd be happy with 170 lbs personally.

    If I weighed 130 lbs or a 140 lbs I'd probably look sickly.

          Try low carb. Eat until your full and you'll be surprised how easy it is to lose fat without starving yourself. In the end it's still just discipline, it's just a lot easier without carbs.

            Isn't that just keto though? I'm a glutton and have a bad obsession with food, also no willpower or self esteem. I probably turn to food as a coping mechanism, it's not healthy at all and it's expensive because I love fast food. It's not wonder I put on like 30-40 lbs.               Yeah, keto is no joke. If you actually stick with it you'll fat fairly quick. A lot of people can drop nearly 10 lbs of water weight in a week if their diet is shit.

    Went from 260 to 160 a few years back and I'm 5'9.5ft. Only thing I wished I had done during that time was start lifting once I dropped below 180 and start getting into that so that I didn't start out with the noodle arms look once I reached 160. Now I'm slowly getting more and more into lifting/exercise and starting beefing up my legs starting last week.
