Not him, but I'm going to get a PS5 as well for Dragon's Dogma 2 (if it's good) and Pennyblood (if it's good).

Hate Sony, but I Valve isn't really much better and at least I get a physical copy of the game on the PS5. Sony can't take that away from me.

Same. GPU prices are stupid. I payed <400? For my 1070 8 years ago and it still plays everything I want. DD2 might push me to ps5(pro?), but it will run on Xbox series s right? So it will run on my PC.

idk I only play CS2 and it's just holding on. I don't want to take a half measure and throw a new GPU into an old PC and I don't want to build a new PC because I am not interested in any new games.

I currently use a LG OLED 42C2. For most games I play window mode 1440p and that's more than enough. Same pixel density as a 27" 1440p. I really love it. Colors and contrast are amazing, and you have so much screen space it's like having two or three monitors in one. I made some profiles with fancy zones, it's such a joy to work with (programming).

          Anonymous

Do you black out the rest of the screen, or do you play with your desktop in the background and window borders and shit?
          >work
Yeah, fair enough, Using it as a sort of pseudo multi-monitor setup makes a lot of sense.

But I think it's hilarious how it caught on with TVs so much more than monitors, despite frickall being available to watch in it, consoles being unable to run it, and it doing absolutely nothing at that viewing distance.
Also the name is so fricking dumb.
          >360 -> 480 -> 720 -> 1080 -> 1440 -> hold on, hold on, we're measuring horizontally now, because it makes it sound bigger!

            >Do you black out the rest of the screen
I have a wallpaper that is all black except for something in the middle. So it's not visible when I play at 1440p.
The top window border is sadly still visible. Depending on the game I minimize my side windows.
I also sometimes play full screen. Alan Wake 2 was really cool on such a big screen, I just sat away from the Desk a little more.

            >But I think it's hilarious how it caught on with TVs so much more than monitors
It also was a price consideration. The LG has 120hz and (small) G-Sync for 600 Euros. OLED monitors start at 800 Euro for 27".
And then I'd still need side monitors which have way worse picture quality. This way I effectively have one to three OLED monitors for
200 Euros less than a single one. The only caveat is that the LG is not curved, which is no problem for a TV that you sit 3-6 meters away from or a 27" monitor.
But at 1-1.5m distance and 42" the corners "run away" a little. I was able to compensate by getting a wall mount that let's me put the TV 20cm further away.
