>the combat is very different compared to yakuza
Because it's more advanced, but it's very similar to the Judgment games and Yakuza because they belong to the same 3D beat em up genre, moron.
>they belong to the same 3D beat em up genre
yes but the combat mechanics are very different, also god hand is more about taking on one opponent at a time while yakuza is more about crowd combat. maybe your 23 iq can't distinguish between games in the same genre.

1.eveyone here has either played or at least heard of god hand, it's effectively become a meme at this point
2.the combat system is not similar to yakuza, yes it is a 3D beat em up but that's like comparing DMC to souls because they are both technically hack n slash games

yup, but unlike the other people itt who are recommending games none of them are getting butthurt like you
Sleeping Dogs is a mix of Arkham combat + environmental takedowns and GTA shooting. Obviously not exact but it has the whole fistfighting Heat Action stuff just in a different way.
Akiba's Trip has a different system because you damage clothing and then rip it off but it's very similar to Yakuza in structure, side quests, and general combat flow.
For the original, should I play the USA release with the funny dub or the Restored patch with original jap voices w/subs? Is it a better experience serious or funny?
At this point the better experience is the retranslation undub. Play the dubbed version if you want to experience it how it originally was down the line because it's a gem and has so many memorable lines. Keep in mind if you go to 2, 3 (PS3), and if I remember right 4 (PS3) it's still going to use 1's translation so Fuma = Kazama, Kage = The Florist, Sunshine = Morning Glory, etc. 1's story also isn't that involved so playing the dub doesn't lose much, at most it might just make you not become able to enjoy the game more seriously.
Many people compares Akiba's Trip combat system to Yakuza, but i don't know the reason tbh.
Because you have the same heavy/light combo system, you have clothes ripping which feels a lot like Heat Actions, it has you moving around the combat arena like in a Yakuza game, the random encounters on the street function a lot like it, you run around the map like it even if it's segmented instead of camera angles/a full map, etc. It's different but a lot of it feels the same.
Like a Dragon: Ishin!
Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name
yeah I have been following those since they got announced, they aren't out until 2023
I have played every yakuza game and it's spin offs that have been released in the west since the PS2 (excluding 7 because I don't like tb combat)
I played that when it was new, the combat is very different compared to yakuza

I have played these games, thanks tho

If you're playing the original and not a remake, play it with the dub. It's an experience you can not replicate.
Mark Hamill as Majima is worth it alone

Because it's a 3D brawler like Yakuza.
Yakuza is just Shenmue with competent voice acting
There were some really jank PS2 beatemups that might scratch an itch
Urban Reign and BeatDown : Fists of Vengeance come to mind
The Bouncer
Wouldn't say they're similar but if you're into the whole "Asians fighting dirty mayhem" I recommend Sifu and Sleeping Dogs
Dynasty Warriors
