I played it for a few hours with a friend.
I think with the right group it could be fun.
I wouldn't play it solo, or with people who take forever to figure out basic shit.
Don't listen to this gay. The game is fine as a solo player. It's less grindy than other survival games out there and the gameplay is quite satisfying once you learn the attack patterns. Game looks beautiful as well.
it's loaded with nested microsoft shit so there's no point unless you already sold your info to bill gates
steam launcher is just a portal to microsoft client, online demands you merge or create a micro$oft account to even play with friends
no way to disable chat filter, common words are constantly censored because the filter is made by some retarded ESL who thinks random snips of things like "am" and "me sa" is too naughty for human eyes
the combat is simplistic, building is tedious, combat is just healthbloat garbage stat checks.
the easiest summary would be, it is a game for toddlers who do not know any better
I haven't played a ton since my co op partner is a pain in the ass to get together with, but I've had fun with it.
If you can play it free, just do it. And then come back here in a week to bitch about it.
Both of these, kind of. Exploration is fun but it's kind of annoying running into some shit that one-shots you or you're not prepared to take on yet, you can play in online mode and savescum/alt+f4 while you're downed at least.
>MS rant
OP literally mentioned game pass >Chat complaints
Are you playing with randoms? Just use discord or in game voice chat >Health bloat
Lower the difficulty >Simplistic combat
Like every game from this genre. The forest for example
The game has its flaws, but these are hardly them.
If he's got gamepass, he's already set up with all the Microsoft stuff. The point is moot.
And the info is nothing important. Same shit signing up to any other product or service requires.
imagine being this domesticated, you think being bombarded with unsolicited advertisements is just a part of every day life. you grew up with it, you live with it, you don't even recognize it happening anymore. why not sign up for yet another venue of data harvesting? put your name in another couple hundred hats to draw from, what's the big deal
Imagine thinking being served an ad that is incredibly easy to block is a significant cost to play countless modern games. If it bothers you, use fake info.
Why would I care if Microsoft uses my data that is already publicly available? Every government in the world already takes far more data than that, and they are going to put it to far worse use. You're freaking out over a puddle thats sitting next to the ocean.
>And the info is nothing important.
Kinda wish I knew, I get it's not important but that shit makes me kinda paranoid.
Btw for OP I liked the explanation a lot. Fun game worth playing I think.
Also, is there any reason to plug up the gas cannister? Seems I made things tougher for no reason.
Oh, and is it just me or aren't the acorn gear and the ladybug gear the exact same armor as I upgrade them? Is there any reason I can't still be wearing that level one piece at the end game if I like the perk more than the lvl3?
Conversely my friend is wearing the heat protection poncho instead of his heavy armor because it says lvl 3 even though he said he would prefer more damage reduction.
Same data as signing up to anything. Name, email, IP, etc. Nowhere near the amount of data that is gathered on your just by browser fingerprinting which 99.99% of people don't avoid.
What info would ms get exactly? That I play games and have used my HBO max on my box to watch GoT 5 times now
Take your meds, holy shit.

>plugging up gas cannister
it just makes it so that the game spawns random spots of fungal biome. In my group we plugged it up so it made it easier to traverse to that side of the yard without needing a gas mask. definitely plug it up when you're geared up a bit. >armor
iirc maxing out like a level 1 armor gets to like a little above a level 2 armor or something like that. I rolled with ladybug armor because I liked the life regen on block. You could always just go the upgrade path of more def instead of the sleek path, but you lose out on a potential extra skill for that +def. >heat protection poncho vs heavy armor
I think its like lv 3 medium armor is the same as lv 2 heavy armor. there's just slightly better stamina usage with weapons in using light/med armor vs heavy armor.
Thx man, was advising my friend poorly.
He's still using aphid slips and the eye patch as his plan is to be glass cannon arrow bro

np. if your friend is going bow, I'd say bee armor is bretty gud for that stuff. I forget if the aphid slips stack with the speed mutation, but if they want to gear something else aside from the slips they can just equip that mutation.
I just mean if someone has bought game pass, they've already made an MS account and "sold their info to Bill Gates." Which is irrelevant and that guy is just a schizo.

if it's on gamepass that means it's free and this thread was completely pointless
fucking loser

I recommend finding a friend that will join you and not go too fast or slow. Solo is ok but kinda drags after a while.

How does being on game pass fix things?

thats a shame. i want tinycraft.
It's definitely the best survival bullshit game I've played.
Yeah its a cool game. Learn to parry or you wont have a good time.
hai
I think it's pretty good. As far as crafty survival games goes it's polished and not overly complex.
It's good, even in solo.
I think it's one of my favorite surival games out there, since it's so unique. Definitely try it out if you like that genre
