Anyone here have any vidya related superstitions? Any weird rituals you do when playing games?
For me it's the belief that good/bad luck comes in streaks, so if I'm doing anything RNG related I will push extra hard if I notice a lucky streak, and if I'm noticing several unlucky signs I will take a break and try again later.
games will be good again someday
i'm not a chudservative so no
dark souls has some genuine gematria if you take certain routes
>only american republicans can be occultists
>despite democrats leaked emails saying they were digging up the fucking corpses of Nephilim
ok.
>dark souls has some genuine gematria if you take certain routes
Explain further.
its not really something you can explain, just watch how many souls you have at a given time, factor in killing everything, normal routes, even abnormal routes have some (13373 if you go backwards to andre and don't die to the titanite demons for example)
coincidence? of course. that is the nature of the occult.

Will leftoids even still speak English 10 years from now? Their language just keeps getting faker and gayer.
smashing the controller will make me win next time
Hold down, mash A to catch Pokémon.
This and walking reduces the chances of pokemon encounters.
It's literally does in some games.
that's moron logic, you have to time the A press to the wiggles
In my school it was holding B.
It only works if you press down + A as soon as the ball closes
I close my eyes during the little inn fade-out jingles in RPGs.
Do you try to hold your breath while diving underwater in games also?
Nah haha I just do it because it feels like a good time to take a breath and prepare for the next part.
It actually does in HeartGold.
killing players in pvp mp takes their power.
other players gain power if they kill you
the more you die the weaker you become
the more you kill without ever being killed, the stronger you become and the weaker they become
because after the 1st death i stop giving a shit and play like shit and die allot
but if i dont die and make the other guy die then my power grows and his dies
I believe this.
In a psychological way this kind of makes sense.
Like the same way a taunt in a fighting game is a valid attack, because it's an attack on the player, not the character.
This is very true though and has been proven through experiments. People who think they're performing well actually do perform better, even if its just placebo. There was that WW2 game where people thought the MP40 was better than the Thompson, even though they had the exact same stats, but because people thought it was stronger they literally played better.
I used to believe moving the analog stick in a circle very fast would make loading screens go by faster
PS1 days we used to think pressing anything during a loading screen would scratch the disc.
I had similar things with loading screens as a kid, thought doing certain things made the loading faster because I was too dumb to realize it was just me being distracted.
most people here don't know that's Saruman looking at the Palantir he had in his possession.
I don't get it.
There was an off-topic thread abround a year ago where someone posted a picture of their penis with a huge bubble on the tip (claimed it showed up after using a penis pump) and someone edited that bubble onto that wizard picture.
When presented with two paths I always take the left path first.
I think it is because I'm left handed, not really a superstition but it is something I do 99% of the time.
Adventurers always go left!
Kind of makes sense since left is often considered the unnatural, wrong or evil way; so going left is more likely to be the optional dead-end path with missable treasure, and right is the correct path that advances the game.
>Any weird rituals you do when playing games?
Yes. I play a game for 10 minutes. If I'm not interested in around that time I turn it off and come back to it later, if I'm not interested within another 10 minutes I uninstall it and never play it again.
How does this work? Do you use a timer? What if the game has a 10 minute intro?
>What if the game has a 10 minute intro?
Then it's clearly not worth playing and would be better served as a movie instead.
Always save your game at least twice to make sure the save really happened and wasn't just a fake save.
There is an actual RNGesus of some sorts. I've noticed that sometimes I get unusually lucky streaks where I think of something I want to see in a run, then immediately soon after get it.
Three separate saves. One going bad is shit luck, two going bad is unusual, three going bad at the same time is almost impossible.
Hey anon, wanna go to vegas with me?
IIRC one of the greatest Vegas gamblers of all time avoided roulette because of the terrible odds, but every evening before he started gambling he would do a single roulette. If he lost he wouldn't gamble anymore, but if he won he believed luck was on his side and would continue to gamble all night.
>one of the greatest Vegas gamblers of all time avoided roulette because of the terrible odds
One of the odds for the game is literally 50/50, which is the best odds you'll get in vegas.
I always kick the cart down the mine shaft when starting up a game of Noita. Being unable to do so is precisely why I get my shit pushed in when running Nightmare Mode.
I always jerk off before playing a new game.
I'm superstitious of the fact that if i play FPS games i will become a gay, though my logic is backed up by fact considering the rise of popularity of FPS games, and the rise of gays in the world. Coincidence? I think not!
Before I play a game I've been looking forward to I stock up on snacks and order a pizza before playing it.

I'm doing the exact same thing.
I unapologetically like every degenerate edit of this image
