I don't know, Bethesda DLCs are usually garbage that just tacks some meme quest into the game. Not anything that actually fleshes out the entire game, like Cyberchud's DLC is aiming to do.
Well that's fair too, I've never been seriously invested in any bethesda game so I don't know if they've ever updated for anything other than to add content instead of fix old content. I assume not.
sincerely doubt it. did skyrim have any significant additions that weren't bundled with new releases of the full game? didn't they have some dumbass mario shit when they put it on switch, or am i thinking of monster hunter
with starfield more than other games it seems bethesda is rapidly adopting a smash and grab philosophy. they put minimum effort into the game and probably chose the release date and exclusivity scientifically to extract the maximum amount of money, to fund the shilling of TES6. not the development, no, because TES6 is clearly going to follow the bethesda curve and be worse than starfield, which will be the final nail in the coffin. probably won't hear shit about starfield in 2024 and beyond.
>probably won't hear shit about starfield in 2024 and beyond
I welcome that, because these procgen games are as shallow as possible, and will make all their money back by the end of next month. this model needs to die but it never will.
idk about that. would need to see the marketing budget to really say that with accuracy. procgen has its place but it surely isn't the majority of the fucking game. HOWEVER, in starfield specifically, the main story quests are clearly hand-crafted.... and still feature cut-and-paste assets throughout. blitz the story and you'll end up on like 5 carbon-copy worlds fighting the same carbon-copy pirates in the same carbon-copy facilities when that should have all been unique. this is right on the edge of scamming imo.
it really doesn't matter how much you're getting paid when half of your employees are women who work as social media managers. NMS may be full of søys but at least almost all of them are men
How did they fix it? There's no gameplay. Nothing interactive. You just fly around and look at shit. That's the entire game. It's a walking simulator without even a narrative.
nta but last night I was playing and warped into some pirate freighter attacking a civilian one. I was taking out it's cannons but it warped away before I could focus on actually destroying it. Was neat.
>Mine shit to craft shit to build shit to mine more shit to craft more shit to build more shit >All in a procedurally generated blatant computer simulation with no immersion or interesting worldbuilding
NMS managed to beat AAA developers at making goyslop I'll give them that
You know what's interesting? In pictures like this, the closer to the camera they are, the more søy they tend to be. What causes this? And only one of these people could plausibly be female, and she's not søying
I have never understood what this open mouth smile is supposed to represent. no human anywhere ever has smiled like this for a picture and had it look anywhere close to natural. I'm pretty sure weeb morons just don't understand human interaction
>gameplay loop
Unironically using this term makes you a homosexual.
With that out of the way, NMS is just classic gamer brain dopamine stimulation. You chase after cool things you want one after the other, or several at a time.
I already applauded the way they turned this game around years ago. Good job. Its still lacking in some ways, but so is every other game new and old. At least it's interesting and fun to some degree. Well done.
Literally nothing to do in this game. After SEVEN years there are still like two aggressive plants in the whole game, no biomes on planets, and there are like a sum total of six non-easter egg planet types and they all look awful.
I come back to this game every year or so and play it for 20 hours and I'm always shocked how bad the game is. I'm not saying this to start an argument, I'm just genuinely gobsmacked at how you've seen almost everything game has to offer in 10 hours and most of it has been extremely repetitive.
What am I missing?
The lack of actual "space" mechanics eventually turned me to Elite Dangerous. I hated how planets were just randomly placed, didnt have orbits or rotation, and no varying gravity. Also 99% percent is in some neon green purple or yellow mebula, theres no structure to the galaxy either
>randomly placed, didnt have orbits or rotation, and no varying gravity
r u srs
I do not play bethesda games out of principle for a numer of reasons, but this is just stupid. I know you can't explore the whole planet, but just assign it a random variable for its gravity and don't make them all like earth gravity.
Dead serious. Also every planet has 1 biome, no poles either.

What are you talking about? the planets have biomes, when you click a landing site it tells you waht the biome is.

Yeah every planet is either scorched, frozen, tropical, radioactive, whatever all over. There isnt a logical difference on a single planet based on latitude
factorio style grind to grind kinda thing. or minecraft maybe. you collect the resources to collect more resources kinda thing. facilities get bigger, trading networks expands, ships get bigger. i'm sure there's a story in there but if you're autistic enough to start a virtual space enterprise you won't find it.
I've only just started playing the game, but I assume that you are chasing better equipment and upgrades. Getting a fully decked out freighter with orbital exo craft materializers and all the bays filled with your personal starship collection would be the endgame, and doing the expeditions would be another diversion.
It will forever stay 60 on meta no matter ho much >we fixed some things in 5 years guys
will change it. If you keep forgiving games they pushed out KNOWING it is subpar it will only result in every gay dev under the sun trying to get away with it. The fact people forgiven NMS and Cyberpunk result in Saints Rows and Anthems where the dev will put out a roadmap then conveniently forget it.
No
NMS was a sweatshop open-world crafting survival game that was supposed to be $30 and instead got rushed out the door for $60
It's passable five years after the fact because that's how long it took to actually finish the fucking game.
You people try to do this exact same historical revisionism with CP2077 now that it's "playable," ignoring the fact that the thousands of reviews and videos showcasing that game being an unfinished clusterfuck are still around. You can't pretend it didn't happen because something worse came along while they actually finished the shit they'd already charged people $60 for.
it was pretty shit at launch too, however unlike Bethesda, they made efforts to fix it
>unlike Bethesda
the game has been out for like a week. it took NMS like almost a year to make any significant fixes
>Implying Bethesda will make any effort to fix their own game
oh they will fix it
after 6 DLCs worth $29.99 each
No, they won't. The DLCs will do exactly nothing except make it slightly easier for unpaid modders to make the game... *ahem*... "good".
I don't know, Bethesda DLCs are usually garbage that just tacks some meme quest into the game. Not anything that actually fleshes out the entire game, like Cyberchud's DLC is aiming to do.

while this is true
NMS stfu and went to work
they didnt double down and tell everyone to buy a new GPU
They've been adding to the game continuously since 2016. Will Bethesda be doing the same for Starfield?
sincerely doubt it. did skyrim have any significant additions that weren't bundled with new releases of the full game? didn't they have some dumbass mario shit when they put it on switch, or am i thinking of monster hunter

You still need to download a dozen of unofficial patches to fix skyrim and fallout and those have been out for over a decade
kind of the point i was getting at. I had huge issues with oblivion before skyrim came out, so i never even bothered buying it
There are ten plus versions of Skyrim and they all still have bugs from when the game first released.
>Small ass studio
>vs
>Bethesda thats backed by Microsoft with a $300m+ budget and 500+ employees
HMMM
it really doesn't matter how much you're getting paid when half of your employees are women who work as social media managers. NMS may be full of søys but at least almost all of them are men
I'm not defending Bethesda in my post, I'm just exposing the fact that despite them having all the resources available, they made something so vapid.
Was neat.
Even the gimped version at launch let you actually fly seamlessly to a planet.
Soys may like it but I unironically enjoy it
sure but then they made it paid dlc later
What paid dlc?
Nice failed bait loser
Where? Link it.
doh im an asshole
They don't deserve praise for fixing their shit because if you do you encourage more devs and publishers to release unfinished junk
At its core is still a slog to play, but at least planet generation got way better.
What mods do you use guys
Not with those söygoy faces
>Mine shit to craft shit to build shit to mine more shit to craft more shit to build more shit
>All in a procedurally generated blatant computer simulation with no immersion or interesting worldbuilding
NMS managed to beat AAA developers at making goyslop I'll give them that
bump
I'm not going to apologize that a game I liked was turned into a game everyone else liked
I'm sorry Blu-ray didn't become useful for storing data.
I miss burning CDs ;_;
I hadn't played the game in about 3 years before a few days ago. I'm enjoying it a lot more now than I did back then.
You know what's interesting? In pictures like this, the closer to the camera they are, the more søy they tend to be. What causes this? And only one of these people could plausibly be female, and she's not søying
FACT: every person who claims to enjoy No Man's Sky is lying, the gameplay loop is coma inducing
Objection: some gays are delusional sure, but there are gays who play Truck simulator etc. for FUN.
>there are gays who play Truck simulator etc. for FUN.
wtf I love gays now
Nah fuck that I dislike autobahns in real life as well.
My brain cells would die if I played this game and there aren't many left.
OUT FUCKING PLAYED
just like real life
I have never understood what this open mouth smile is supposed to represent. no human anywhere ever has smiled like this for a picture and had it look anywhere close to natural. I'm pretty sure weeb morons just don't understand human interaction

m-masaka!
Pure evil.
Is this how Euro's reproduce?
>Hören Sie auf, im Namen des Gesetzes!
Yes.
>gameplay loop
Unironically using this term makes you a homosexual.
With that out of the way, NMS is just classic gamer brain dopamine stimulation. You chase after cool things you want one after the other, or several at a time.
Are you still going on about how you think you need to mine resources to get off a planet you landed on?
DA GAMPLAY LOOOOOP
nope
I already applauded the way they turned this game around years ago. Good job. Its still lacking in some ways, but so is every other game new and old. At least it's interesting and fun to some degree. Well done.
I enjoy space trucking in Elite.
imagine the mosquitoes
I have no counter argument. I apologize.
Does anyone know why my cursor disappears in NMS?
i'm on PS4 and used VR a while ago, now the game is unplayable
>implying at any point I ever even considered playing this turd
Post more truk webms
Game is fucking awesome
Literally nothing to do in this game. After SEVEN years there are still like two aggressive plants in the whole game, no biomes on planets, and there are like a sum total of six non-easter egg planet types and they all look awful.

What am I missing?
What is the point of the game? I watched a review and I still don't get it, is it mostly a crafting game, or is there combat?
for me it was just seeing what the proc gen would make
The world look interesting, but I have conflicting opinions here...Is it good?
The lack of actual "space" mechanics eventually turned me to Elite Dangerous. I hated how planets were just randomly placed, didnt have orbits or rotation, and no varying gravity. Also 99% percent is in some neon green purple or yellow mebula, theres no structure to the galaxy either

we are talking about no mans sky you retard
the hawk clip you posted is unironically worth more than this game
factorio style grind to grind kinda thing. or minecraft maybe. you collect the resources to collect more resources kinda thing. facilities get bigger, trading networks expands, ships get bigger. i'm sure there's a story in there but if you're autistic enough to start a virtual space enterprise you won't find it.

wheres the newgame! version
I will not apologize. They lied about the content of the game, them adding what should have been there at launch should not be celebrated.
It will forever stay 60 on meta no matter ho much

I'm not going to hold it against hello games that the big publishers saw their comeback story and thought they could weaponize that.
weird how monotonous Elite can get but I think the fact that it FEELS like space holds me more than any other aspect
No. It's still shit.
