Fucking where? I pulled out my old copy recently but I uninstalled it after a day cause all of the populated servers were hardcore or some other autistic nonsense like crouch only. Am I missing all the normal servers somehow or do people really want to play this game this way?

On PC there are like 30 people at best playing it on Steam.
There's H1 Mod, which is free MWR client, but it died within a week from release. The last time I tried there was like one dude playing.

Ever since SBMM was introduced in all modes with MW19, it's sweats vs sweats meta only no fun allowed all the time.

Call of Duty is casual game that became forced to be played competitively.
You can do both but CoD was never able to become competitive in a serious manner because the focus was always on consoles.

S&D tourneys were actually pretty popular in COD1 and 2 days, but they switched focus to laid back TDM with 4, which is where and why COD shined.
COD is no longer fun to play casually, because there's too much meddling with matchmaking.

Back in the day CoD and Halo were the most popular online games. Now kids have tons of options like Minecraft, Fortnite, Among Us, Fall Guys, Smash, Dead by Daylight, GTA Online, Destiny.
People play party games and co-op games.
i play Battlefield 1 with my friends and we have a ton of fun in conquest, it's not sweaty as cod and not as fast as the more modern battlefields, we are casual so it feels comfy to play together in a squad and get objectives through teamwork and the mechanics are simple, one guy plays medic to heal one ammoguy to give ammo, another sniper to take out other snipers and one assault

Every shooter has been casual since Quake 3 and Unreal Tournament. Its really since shooters started being made for consoles. Yes CS is pretty casual too.
