Its Fallout 4 in space, Fallout 4 is worse than Fallout 3/NV, Bethesda does not know how the design a combat mechanics, Bethesda does not know how to design enemy encounters, Bethesda does not know how to balance their own games, every single enemy is a big wood stump that moves left and right and eat bullets, that is it.
Thanks OP for being the one push for adding dated/aged onto my filtered. Because I see it so many, many times, and every time I see it's usage, it looks like some retard refused to even play the game, just gets HIMSELF filtered cause of off beaten controls and then bitch about it. Nice to see it being used for modern games, to see hte term die

CP2077 and Starfield are just vastly better games, I don't really get how you can possibly enjoy the 360 era Fallouts in 20 fucking 23.
This is advanced shit posting
New Vegas is a pretty good game
Fallout 3 and CP77 are shit
Starfield is mega shit
If your opinion is not this, you are a fucking moron
Cyberpunk 2077 is a mediocre looter shooter set in a blade runner fanfic written by a homosexual who thinks the animatrix is high art. It isn't half the things it claimed it was going to be and what it is, isn't fucking fun.
>unintelligible blabbering
You being a Hispanic with a weak English vocabulary does not mean that what I wrote was unintelligible. >Go play a shit series like Dark Souls or something anon.
I am waiting until the DLC for elden ring comes out, but thanks for the suggestion.
I bought a series x for starfield and right now i'm playing new vegas for the first time instead of starfield because i already lost interest in it. the writing and characters inn nv are 1200x better
There was a time when I would have agreed with this, but gamers are retards that have to be lead along by their nose. I have seen people on this board complain about how the NCR's armor doesn't provide a realistic amount of protection when it was said outright in the game that the company supplying this armor was selling the Kevlar plates out of it and just giving soldiers empty plate carriers. If the designers hadn't created an NPC to say this, this would have flown over 99% of the player's heads. New Vegas unironically does alot of showing, but it just can't trust the players enough to leave out the telling.
>trying to play New Vegas >game crashes every 5 minutes >now i can't load my saves because i'm in a location where the infinite loading bug will just trigger, effectively soft-locking me
If I have to install fixes from some gay-ass modding site like Nexus just to get this game to work right, then it's an unredeemable piece of shit. Fuck nu-Fallout and fuck Bethesda. It's not my job to make your fucking game work.
>now i can't load my saves because i'm in a location where the infinite loading bug will just trigger, effectively soft-locking me
Start a new game, then load any save. It will say that starting a new game will get rid of your current auto save, but this isn't actually true until you leave doc mitchell's house.
Thank you for the tip, but goddam I'm fuming. Even the 4gb patch just makes the game launch with Error Code 51. I seriously don't understand how people put up with this BS
I didn't have much trouble with NV when I played it a couple years ago. I just had the 4gb patch, the unofficial patch and maybe the stutter fix. Do you have those? Did you install everything correctly? Works on my machine 🙂
This image is the most widely spread image online of Fallout 3 and NV together and for some reason it has a plastic effect over it, I think it's an old photoshop filter
What's wrong with New Vegas. I was about to start it for the first time next week. Wondering what are the mandatory mods for a great first experience.
>inb4 play un modded the first run
I don't plan on playing beyond a first run. I have a backlog to finish and games that need to disappear from the checklist. I want the most complete game on my first experience.
Yeah, NV (and Obsidian in general) has a huge problem with "tell, don't show", every random NPC wants to lore dump you if you just say hello.
the faction system was underwhelming, it was just a fun reactive RPG, allowing me to see different sides of a conflict and allowing me to try out factions in different way. Don't go in for the writing, play for gameplay
Fallout 3 is not set in Washington DC, it's set in the abandoned ruins of a shitty Washington DC theme park. Also, for what it's worth, yes, the actual desert IS more interesting and comfy than Washington DC, which may be one of the most boring fucking cities on the entire planet.
Yes anon going through copy pasted metro tunnels in find your dad simulator fighting tinted yellow orcs is much more entertaining than exploring a reactive world actually designed as a sequel to previous Fallout games.
>What's wrong with New Vegas
there's nothing wrong with it, it's one of the greatest games ever made but because of identity politics it has become popular to hate on it. >mods
just stick to the fixes, it is a complete game without mods.
Ganker has hit full contrian wheel to the point people actually start thinking that NV isn't the best 3D fallout and isn't the best published Bethesda game since Morrowind.
This. Its been over 20 years and Morrowind is still one of the best Bethesda games. New Vegas is also good but overrated imo, just as Skyrim. The rest is mediocre at best, trash at worst
You honestly don't need that much for New Vegas, it doesn't have a retarded leveling scheme like oblivion or an awful UI like skyrim. Get the unofficial patches to fix scripting bugs, get the anti-stutter plugin, and you probably want the 4 gb patch. Other than that, you're pretty much set, unless you want to make the game prettier.
It had a bunch of anime/japanese game (at the time) voice actors voicing like half the cast (Sam Riegel, Liam O'brien, Yuri Lowenthal, Laura Bailey), i couldn't take this seriously even if i tried, why the fuck is Sasuke yelling at me saying he won the lottery baka.
The western VA scene is not very big and was much smaller in 2010. If you don't want to play a game with fucking Laura Bailey in it, you're going to be cutting out like half of all voiced games made in the last 20 years. This is your punishment for watching dubbed anime.
https://vivanewvegas.moddinglinked.com/intro.html
Worth it for the bugfixes and QOL mods. The guide will also tell you which mods to avoid in case you get the urge to install 200+ mods after your vanilla playthrough.
Not enough content for the towns and minor factions, Bethesda jerry-rigged engine limits the type of content the game can have, and the DLCs are kind underwhelming.
I want 10 new quests for each town and minor factions, plus 10 additional quest for siding with NCR, Legion, House or Yes Man, giving a total of 50 unique quests for each town and minor faction.
Thanks OP for being the one push for adding dated/aged onto my filtered. NV looked and played like clunky dogshit the game it game out and its strong points are rather timeless so it's actually aged as gracefully as can be expected.
Dead Money if you like good character work, thematic storytelling, and survival/resource management. Old World Blues if you like a good collect-a-thon with interesting rewards and a metric fuckload of combat. Honest Hearts if you want a mini-New Vegas in your New Vegas. Lonesome Road if you like Avellone's hackery, OP equipment, or you are a deep lore god.
OWB story is at least on par, although it doesn't have the same level of narrative cohesion given the breadth of it's locations compared to DM and I'm tired of people thinking it's not. The only major problem are the VI personalities which can be a bit hit or a miss.
It's not that I find penis fingers jokes to be all that funny, if anything the joke is more layered in how the think tank members have become even more lobotomized than all those experiments they've deemed lesser than themselves, it has a lot of tragicomedy in it which I enjoy in it's overall recursion loop telling, whilst also having those faint glimpse that shatter the facade like discussion Ulysses with Klein, handing Gabes bowl to Borous and the final discussion with Mobious.
I agree that it has its good moments, but I think it spends too much time being funny and not enough conveying that these people were ever even remotely normal. The tech level is also so bat shit bonkers that it kind of undermines the main game a bit.

I suppose it's more a question of what story you prefer. I like it more when it's layered so you can just interact with it's surface level, treat it like a midnight science fiction feature bash where you cave in funny coloured scorpions, but if you interact more and pay attention it's a kind of tragic story you're unfolding. Whereas Dead Money is much more upfront and direct in it's story, maybe to the degree with literally bashing it's point on your head a bit too much, but it is woven together more cohesively and it's general structure is so different that it does always feel a bit refreshing when you switch from regular NV to DM, so I would still rate it as the overall superior DLC.
ah so we’re hitting the pretending nv and fo3 are bad arc. hm. tedious.
CP2077 and Starfield are just vastly better games, I don't really get how you can possibly enjoy the 360 era Fallouts in 20 fucking 23.

They wouldn’t be so polarizing so long as they were written well. Yes, NV is poorly written.

You seem to imply that these games had good shooting to begin with lmao
It's not the reason people like these games.
This image is the most widely spread image online of Fallout 3 and NV together and for some reason it has a plastic effect over it, I think it's an old photoshop filter
why?
Morrowind.
They were great for their time. They walked so that Starfield could run. Wait, nevermind.
Starfield is in a wheelchair because thats inclusive
Mail Order Monsters for the Commodore 64.

New Vegas is still good, although it's inferior to Fallout 3
You're actually huffing indian fumes if you believe 3 is superior to NV.
I'm sorry anon, but if you think an empty desert is more interesting than Washington DC you just have objectively shit taste
Fallout 3 is not set in Washington DC, it's set in the abandoned ruins of a shitty Washington DC theme park. Also, for what it's worth, yes, the actual desert IS more interesting and comfy than Washington DC, which may be one of the most boring fucking cities on the entire planet.

So, did FO4 zoomers finally decide to barge into this?
new vegas was the last good game to be associated with bethesda in any way

OWB's writing depends entirely on how well you jive with the think tank's humor. Personally it's not my cup of tea, for the most part.
