doom (1993)
dont need anything else
boring boomer game that ive already played a ton when i was a kid
wrong.
Doom is extremely overrated, like it or not.
wrong.
Snopes debunked this btw
You are not funny, you will never be funny. You spew overused one liners like an action figure in the bargain bin section.
Doom is not verybgoood, its very repetitive.
Doom with wads is practically infinite content. Damn zoom zooms can't appreciate old games. It's okay anon, they'll keep making threads like these and paying 50 bucks a skin in whatever F2P trash they're into and complaining about how bad games are.
Anon 30 yeats old. I simply don't like Doom, i dont see it as a good game.
>wads
So mods, not Doom. That's like saying you love Half Life but all you play Team Fortress or CS.
I like old games, but simply put Doom is just mot very good.
I'm 35. That sounds like infinite levels of Doom. A game I got bored of when I was maybe 7
Noita
fun game for like 20 hours, then it turns into autism secret finder which is no fun and requires just wiki-ing the answers and kind of takes out the replayability since you are doing the exact same thing every time.
>a $20 game has to be fun for more fun than 20 hours to not suck
>this is also pretending the game loses its replay value after 20 hours which it definitely doesn't
i didnt say it was a bad game i just think its repetitive and the sense of replayability is way overstated like most roguelikes
You can get way more creative with wands then what you'd discover in 20 hours. You might take the same paths in each run but how you build wands will change pretty much every time.
you just end up building the same wand almost every time
maybe you do lmao
cant wait to play the same run for 30 hours so i can build a wand that puts you in another place that someone else made that i had to look up. boring.
I used an extreme example to illustrate a broader point. Not being able to understand that is a sign of autism.
all roguelikes are repetitive
>have semi interesting mechanic (sometimes)
>add 5 hours of content
>stretch it out over 1000 hours
what game isnt repetitive
idk, i opened the thread saying all games suck what do you think?
tetris
you play every game the same way
you can use this reductive statement about literally any video game
but i never used that reductive statement
well I am
okay
doom (1993)
Mario Kart
what am i looking at?
quake 3: arena/quake live
good game
Chrono Trigger
jrpgs are boring
Oh frick, I completely forgot Doshin existed.
This game could have been a success here in the west if it released a gen later
dorf fortress
Skyrim
Isn't Doshin the Giant (EU) one of those games that sells for huge amounts now? I lent my copy to a friend and never got it back. Hoping this isn't a disc worth hundreds that I threw away.
Jashin is cooler and the soundtrack rocks btw
Yoshi's Island
Left 4 Dead 2
Tales of Maj'Eyal
Deltarune
Pick one and go for your life
lmao all those games really suck especially troonyrune
609274559
Doshin the Giant
I'll give you a ton of games that don't suck, but it doesn't matter because you're just going to say they all suck anyway because what you actually are is burned out on video games and need to try something else with your spare time. Or you're being a contrarian homosexual. Anyway.
>Risk of Rain 2
Item stacking, wildly different characters, action run-based game.
>Deep Rock Galactic
Co-op shooter like L4D with (good) procedurally generated levels.
>ULTRAKILL
FPS Devil May Cry.
>DUSK
Quakelike boomer shooter, wildly diverse level design and good gamefeel.
>Prodeus
Modern doom-like FPS with chunky combat.
>Doom (2016)
More pure FPS than Eternal, with enough new mechanics and that AAA polish to stand out.
>Iron Lung
Short horror game everyone should play about being welded into a submarine.
>Inscryption
Rouge-lite horror card game with meta elements.
>MultiVersus
Smash with Ultra Instinct Shaggy fighting Batman.
>ADACA
Half Life 2 meets STALKER. Single dev project but quite an original concept.
>HYPERCHARGE: Unboxed
Wave-based tower-defense-ish shooter where you are an action figure and you're killing other toys.
>Total War: Warhammer II
4X/RTS in which you control huge armies of fantasy creatures with wildly different mechanics in each faction. Cheaper and more complete option than the latest one.
>Darkest Dungeon
Run-based RPG where you manage a small town of heroes trying to prevent the end of the world. Permadeath and stress mechanics make each run feel tense and impactful.
>AMID EVIL
Dark Fantasy Quake. That's pretty much it but it's damn good.
And just for good measure, here's a gigantic dump of great demos you can still download and play on Steam for some upcoming games: Selaco, Anger Foot, Trepang2, Gloomwood, Hellscreen, Metal: Hellsinger, Nine Sols, Post Trauma, Power Chord, Crabdackle, Turbo Overkill, Project Downfall, Beyond Sunset, Small Saga, and Conscript.
If you actually need something to play and aren't just shitposting, there you go.
This is a man who genuinely appreciates video games for the artistic medium that they are. Not only does he go out of his way toe experience as many new and different video games as he can, he also manages to form clear and concise opinions on each and hold true in his heart what it is to be an enjoyable video game while playing them. This is the absolute paragon of what it is to be a person who plays video games and a poster on Ganker. I hope all who read this post are as inspired as I am.
Also OP play Ikaruga, that's my contribution
Most of the games he listed suck though.
That's why I recommended Ikaruga
I'm having fun. Trying to get OP to have fun too. I think I listed a lot of games from a pretty diverse set of genres and types, sorry you didn't see anything you liked.
Thanks fella. I hope you found something in here you haven't heard of before that interests you too. Have an image.
Been meaning to try Ultrakill for a while but never got round to it. The rest are ones I've heard of but not wanted to try out.
Was mostly just happy to see someone on Ganker willing to be helpful and actually share their opinions instead of hiding behind irony and vitriol while putting down everybody else's good suggestions.
Curious about Darkest Dungeon too although I'm sure I've heard the name before.
Godspeed.
You should get Ultrakill if you really enjoy score-attack style games and trying to get Platinum medals in games like DMC or Bayonetta. It's very good for a single playthrough, but it shines when you try to get the max score on each level.
Darkest Dungeon is in my top 5 favorite games of all time. The combat is brutal, tense, and each run feels like you're on the razor's edge. But you can never really "lose" the game, despite a party wipe or losing your best team. You always have town upgrades to work on and fresh recruits to throw to the wolves. I'd pull the trigger on it if you like difficult but fair turn-based RPGs with higher stakes than normal.
Shame about his taste though
Iron Lung legit fricking sucks.
Cringe thread where OP replies "shit" to any game listed.
