It's Ubishit unironically. Their moronic launcher/platform eats up CPU. I have no idea what kind of bitcoin mining/pajeet mess code is going on, but I get 100% CPU utilization and like 35% GPU utilization when their Ubishit Connect launcher is running and I'm gaming

Got myself Division 2 when it had a 97% discount. Had a blast. DC is great, graphics are amazing, and the game is chock full of content. PVP, PVE, dark zone, new locations they add for event weeks to this day.

I love the shit out of it. been playing since the very beginning and still hop on every now and then.

first one kills 2 on the music though.
2 seems pretty boring and lame in the first half. 8 man raids and dlc makes up for it.

      oops. better version.

also DarkZone filtered shitty ass players. the adrenaline being on a manhunt with the server chasing you is fun as shit.

      >free to play survival/battle royale

division did battle royal first already with survival, zoomer. and that shit was great. pretty sure your ass couldn't kill the end Hunter.

First game has a great setting. Love New York in winter. Also has a survival mode thats set during a snow storm. Very kino. Gameplay is just third person ubisoft shooter

  9. 2 years ago
    Anonymous

Only liked the first one due to the winter atmosphere. Heard the second on had a seperate dlc that takes you back to New York?
Can a shill give me a QRD? Can I play that dlc seperate? Or would I have to drag myself through 2's story to reach it?

      >Only liked the first one due to the winter atmosphere
I can almost guarantee that you'll hate the game even if you like the gameplay changes. The entire game got a different vibes without the snow

Btw if If the story doesn't matter(spoiler:washington story is shit) then yes there's a feature that jumps your character to lvl 40 to start the DLC immediately

Both are boring, third person looter shooters with very basic RPG elements. Basically Borderlands but with less build and enemy variety. What made 1st Division fun was the world, it was simply comfy and fun to walk around empty NYC as an AR-15 operator with snow and Christmas decorations everywhere. The attention to details was pretty great and god knows we need more winter games.
2nd game is basically everything wrong from the first game with none of its positives. They fricked it up.

If you are sensitive to diversity casting, every character is either black or a woman and oftentimes a black woman. If not, they are Asian or Mexican. You can feel the onions in every stupid audio log echo or radio call.

      Anonymous

man ain't that the truth, it was real jarring to have all those audio logs featuring women bandits acting in such a way that no woman would EVER act under those circumstances, it was almost like a parody

I think the weakest aspect of the game's world design and writing was a lot of the bandit recordings & dungeons/hideouts. They're just so stupidly over-the-top with their attempts at shock value and it really makes you question whether this game writers completely dropped the pretense of trying to portray real people, and instead just made them all Borderlands-tier cannibal-rapist-torture killers.

And like, that shit works in Borderlands because nothing in that game is subdued, everything is meant to be over the top and cartoony. But the contrast between you talking to Jimmy NewYork the Electrician trying to fix the generators back at camp, to an audio tape of some chick going "HAHAHA DID YOU SEE ME BLOW THAT DUDES FACE OFF? FRICK YEAH I LOVE MURDER!" or a hideout where they just have a dozen corpses of cops all strung up on meathooks and sodomized with beer bottles and shit.

And like, I get some factions like the Cleaners, they kind of make a little sense. They are convinced they're doing something necessary, regardless of how many lives it costs in the process. But the bandits? I don't see how you can have normal, plainclothes people walking through the streets scavenging for supplies, and then fricking Donny Murderpunk in his spiked green hair screaming as he guns down anything he sees on the next corner.

          Anonymous

all factions in division 2 are of the top cartoon villains. i like your bl2 analogy, because in a real world setting this would make no sense at all. worst offender are the guys who suicide everyone into you because FEMA was a little bad to them. total moronation.

            >because in a real world setting this would make no sense at all

            ?t=1948

I haven't played D2 but I played a little bit of D1. I like to think they base these senselessly barbaric factions on real life nogs, but are able to get away with it because no one wants to be the journalist who points it out, and directs peoples attentions to what is going on in the world.

              Anonymous

Noggers are violent because they literally never had any experience of anything else, they think that's normal.

All of the people in The Division who became cannibal-murdering-rapist bandits were literally normal people like, a few months ago before society collapsed, and they just decided that it was a good idea to start skinning people alive.

the first game is one of the greatest games ever made as you do the singleplayer solo untill it ends abruptly seemingly half way through

the second i am currently playing for the 40th time from the begginning to lvl 30 solo its just a very solid and good loot em shoooter one of the best

certainly worth £40 its at least 40 hours
dont play any of them with friends or online just play it properly and unlock everything

its a proper game, there hasnt been one like it in years and years and years

The first one is great if you got 3 friends but also solo.
The second one is only great if you got 3 friends.

Stay away from PVP, especially on PC. I played both PC and PS4 versions and the PVP maps are full of coke snorting tryhards.

The Division 1 and 2 are really "love it or hate it" games. Both because of how they specifically play (a lot of people have REALLY strong opinions on third-person cover shooters), and also the fact that both are essentially long dead semi-MMOs which means the only real way to play them is singleplayer.

Personally, I like both. I think they're fun games, they look pretty great even today, and I think the shooting and stuff feels really solid. However, at their core they're very different games in how players engage with them. They're "looter shooters" but with very minimal variety in actual loot, and while there are really powerful gear and build combos in both games, I think 99% of people will never actually learn enough to bother with that.

They are, however, at their endgame, very repetitive. Div2 tried to really extend the life of the game with Seasons, which are just a set of challenges and a scaling rank for completing them, that just have you going through the same "dungeons" and fights that you've already done a hundred times. Sometimes they have little gameplay changes that you do for points but those are small side things.

They're worth a play, mostly because they're dirt cheap right now and if you like the gameplay, 1 and 2 should net you a large number of hours relative to their cost.

Nah it's boring as frick. It's just a generic 3rd-person cover shooter but this time with grinding.

The Division is super comfy, it has some of the nicest weather effects I've seen in a video game and perfectly nails the atmosphere of a cold north east winter. At times it reminds me of Syphon Filter where you're a hyper competent guy with fun gadgets but also maybe a bit of Max Payne 3.

The Division 2 has some really great setpieces but lacks the atmosphere of the first.

I never got into the pvp stuff but they're very enjoyable open world games if you like that genre.

  23. 2 years ago

They're worth it but once you reach end-game, you can feel free to shut them down. I still have a soft-spot for Div1 too, the setting and factions are just peak kino.

TD1 only for the Survival DLC
TD2 for the New York DLC
Really, all 50VL regarding The Division is in NYC but Survival really should be the core single-player experience of this game

Survival sounds very anti-comfy. Really like Division 1 default SP with the base upgrades and all the meaty main missions and faster sub-missions/side jobs.
