they're having trouble optimizing the cost of games. Before the crisis they could just throw money at marketing and keep the sales going even for the shittiest of games like Cybertrash2077, now they have to somehow make better games with less money.

2bh I never ever dreamt of being a gamedev for two reasons: 1) I don't have the brains for being able to program and 2) even as far back as when I started going on the internet in 2005 it was ready common knowledge that being a gamedev is anything but a cushy job

I hope all triple a studios collapse, and alll the Black person cattle that work in the corporate games industry loose their jobs. There is absolutely no quality control in their industry and no stakes when they put out slop shit that is worthless. Zero accountability across the industry. I’m an RN if I frick up at my job I could get my license suspended, loose my ability to practice, potentially go to prison or face fines. When these mentally ill freaks pump out pure utter trite and sloppa they face no back lash or punishments. The only games worth playing are old games indie games.

if it happened it would be absolutely hilarious and really could start a massive AAA games crash
the thing is though, there is a snowballs chance in hell for that to happen. for it to happen it would take the game being as much of a technical disaster as cyberpunk launch plus the game itself being legitimately shit, as in disgusting story and really unfun to play

No. We need a deep recession before this industry crashes. It won't crash even when your average game cost $100, because normies just are going to move to the subscription system. But shit is going to crash so hard, when normies realise that paying +10 different subscription servies is not economically sustainable.

    >Are we heading for vidya industry crash?
We have too many game developers, too many publishers, too many indies. The industry for games HAS to crash, just because a Engine exists doesn’t mean you should make games. People act as if they can design a game, let alone program. And they’re wrong, just look at the shit that’s released in the past decade and a half

It NEEDS a reset. Anyone denying this is up their own ass

Here is the thing man, if you read through replies in this thread you will see that people want an immediate end to the content they are receiving. That isn't how entertainment media works. It's a process. You have to seek funding, find a studio, select the appropriate employees, allocate development time, marketing... it's a process to set all these things up, it takes time. It's also a process to wind down from that. It takes weeks, months to shutter a project. What gamers want is unrealistic. Gamers think that everything can happen immediately, they have no patience, they don't understand infrastructure. In this industry we are killing careers of would-be developers everyday. But you as a consumer won't see the results of that work for years.

It doesn't matter how many times I repeat this, doomers will never understand. They want everything and they want everything now! Things are changing. I've worked in this industry since 2007. It takes a long time for things to happen.
