        >Deeper combat, strategic fundamentals, improved rpg mechanics and character customization, and more challenging gameplay than DS1
        >Not so one dimensional or braindead as DS3's railroaded progression, stats don't matter rpg mechanics, and hit the iframe button at the right time being the only gameplay combat
If you value gameplay, depth, freedom and exploration it's one of the best action rpgs ever.

its extremely lacking in polish but I still prefer it over 3 where it feels like the whole game was made on autopilot. 1 and demons are the best souls games

        > shit on the bosses
        > 'uhhh but what about these one or two dlc bosses!'

DS2 babbies have to use the dlc as a crutch, even though the dlc's include such garbage as the run to Sir Alonne and Blue Smelter Demon. They have to keep spamming these shitty threads because they're so insecure about their game.
No one thinks you're Le based, they think you're a desperate contrarian shitter with horrible taste and no arguments other than
        > ummmm what about Majula?
        and
        > ummmmm what about power stancing??

Your meme game will always get shat on as it rightly deserves.

        Bloodborne > DS3 = DS1 > Elden Ring >>>>>>>>>>> DS2

Take your ADP, your horrid level design, your shite bosses, your clunky gameplay your vile visuals, your life gems, and shove them up your ass.

Funny how you were completely unable to provide a valid rebuttal. You Ds2 babies are always like that - can't provide a counter argument without mentioning the other games (usually DS3)

As I said you think you're Le Based when in reality you've got shit taste. Your meme game is a laughing stock KEK

You can't help but mention the other games. You still haven't provided an argument. Like I said, DS2 babs are incapable of doing so.
You can have ten thousand hours in DS1; doesn't change the fact that you've got shit taste for liking DS2

                > PClard seethes and copes over Bloodborne

DS2 is the only game that properly makes use of the stat scaling system. Fire scaling with the higher of int/fth, dark scaling with the lower, infusions working with weapon buffs and even being available on caster weapons, literally any stat build can be made to work. Even a pancake build works with mundane.

It's deeper than DS1 because of improved combat mechanics and it's a more fleshed out rpg in terms of character growth and gear customization. And it's deeper than 3 because everyone's character by default isn't someone whose just really really good at rolling around a lot with all the stamina and vitality they'd ever need right at sl1. There's room to actually shape your character and play a variety of ways that aren't just hitting the iframe button at the right time being the only gameplay and solution to everything. In DS3 everyone is rolling around the same up to 70% and that's just the nature of the game. It's a lot more simplified and one dimensional.

one you notice how every room is just empty, empty hallways, empty castles, it gets kinda hard to not notice it. The levels feel really basic. Noticed it even worse the 2nd time playing it

You just don't get this level of emergent chaos in other souls games. One little slip up and things can quickly get out of control and you just have to improvise and adapt. You never feel safe. In the other games the enemies either just don't aggro from far enough or they cut off their pursuit outside their small designated zones. Here you really get that fight for your life feeling of tension. This game is always throwing surprises and tricks at you to throw you off your guard. You're there. As an adventurer. Trying to decide how best to overcome a difficult situation. How best to survive the obstacles ahead of you using your cunning and wit combined with limitless build potential and variety of playstyles. It's adrenaline inducing as you fight for your life against insurmountable odds. What a fricking game.

The enemies actually attack you in DS2. Which is more than you can say for 1. And it's not the roll spam simulator of 3. So it's automatically the best in the series.

So did people just think 2 was cheap and artificial difficulty because they couldn't just walk up to everything and backstab it? Or easily lure all the enemies away 1 at a time? They actually had to think and use their brain? This is where the "muh enemy placement" shitters comes from? It all makes sense.

The ai doing something is better than it doing nothing. Especially if you have to go out of your way to stage a scenario that would happen in all the games. Enemies can't enter specific zones like elevators or certain doorways. I could stage this same thing in all of them.

Are DS2 gays done trying to pretend it is the greatest in the series? No, then you get what you fricking deserve, DS2 is trash. Admit to all the numerous problems it has (enough to fill an 8 hour video series) and that it was seen as a massive disappointment for very legitimate reason and other people will be happy to admit it is a good game, but the worst Souls game.

Its actually amazing how it filters both DS1 gays who poise tanked and circle strafed backstab fished through their game and DS3 gays who roll spammed and R1 stunlock everything short of bosses in their game.

      Anonymous

One side will tell you the enemy placement is unfair for exactly the reason you can't circle strafe backstab entire groups of enemies one after the other through the whole game. You actually have to think about how you engage situations on a per encounter and level basis. The other, it's too clunky because you actually have to manage stamina, roll recovery, and mashing R1 isn't a guaranteed win tactic. Especially if you're panicking or aiming the wrong direction because the game expects you be deliberate with your actions and know how to handle specific weapons. 2 hits that special balance. It's methodical and demands strategic play in the way 1 tried to be before people broke it and knew how to cheese the ai. And also without being a brainless hack n slash 3 turned out to be. It's fundamentally the best souls game.

It's the only Souls game I never replayed after finishing the DLCs
I'm actually glad Dark Souls 2 was my first game of the series and the entry point in From games aside from AC, because I would have dropped it in disgust if I had actually played DS1 first, rather than assuming that the bar was just that low.
Picked it up at launch too, when journos were fellating it entirely due to Bamco paid reviews and it was one of the very first times I witnessed the death of intellectual honesty and integrity in gaming journalism.
I'll never forget the disappointment of seeing the Huntsman Corpse "shortcut" right AFTER a bonfire or bosses being literally a bunch of mobs with fog walls
