Armored Core

So what are your expectations for the new game? My perfect game would be the bosses and gameplay of for answer and story structure and customization levels of Last Raven

higher res and better quality version, no idea how you Anons manage to end up with such shitty versions

I would love to see a slightly more in depth story and lore than past AC games.
I don't want them to go full Daemon X Machina clownshow, but the AC games always had really interesting settings so I'd love to see just a little bit more story.
Maybe something like an ingame internet like in Front Mission. Something like a forum where ravens chill and talk shit would be cool.

Open ended stories are what make FromSoftware games good. Not everything needs to be told. Being able to use your imagination is what makes mystery fun.

But Elden Ring and Souls games had tons of item descriptions. AC didn't even have that. All you got wa e-mails, mission briefings and descriptions of arena oponents. Some games like Nexus and Last Raven would have cutscenes but pretty short compared to today's standards.

I didn't play Front Mission but I know I did miss the e-mail in Armored Core 4 and For Answer. I don't think it will fit VI as much since it seems to be leaning more into the post-apocalyptic setting.

I expect it to be Armored Core.
I expect it to be good.
I expect it'll be as successful as Sekiro.

a lot of people are going to get disappointed because they'll be expecting a souls game

Unfortunate for them, hopefully they'll learn to enjoy it nonetheless. AC and Souls (and FromSoft in general) share a lot of the same DNA, so it shouldn't be too difficult.

      lmao what
      this is just delusional
      >armored core
      >good
I actually like mech games but this alone is a stretch

While I think mecha is a niche genre, we live in a post-Souls post-Elden Ring world now. The game has been in development since 2016 and has a much better budget than previous games in the series.
FromSoft probably doesn't even need to spend any money on marketing, they'll shit out a 10 minute gameplay overview and let the internet spread the word for them.

Are you actually insane dude? Practically no one liked Armored Core in the first place and gameplay, according to you, will be Armored Core which is not hype at all. And it's From so I doubt the graphics will sell it.

The only way I'd even consider buying this game is if it had some kind of a world to explore or they somehow gave it a good story but I don't see that happening.

Game is not for you. Why you think you should be offering your opinion on it is confusing. Why don't you go bug Tampax about the changes you think would improve their products instead.

There's no reason to get angry you moron. I was just telling you that you're delusional thinking it will sell well.

Armored Core is just fast Demon's Souls. Energy is stamina, ammo is mana, weapon swapping is the same, if you take the path from one bonfire to another and separate it out you basically have an AC mission, and the story isn't spoonfed at you.
It's all a matter of optics.

You might not like it, but from all the reactions I've seen online even dumb retards like 39daph want the game simply because it's FromSoft.

I expect this to be souls shit because that's all Meme Software has been shitting out for the past 14 years.
they forgot how to make video games that are NOT souls shit.

"Souls" is not a genre. ACV and VD both came after DeS and DaS you know. They made Deracine which is not even remotely like any of their other games but people like to conveniently ignore that. They made Sekiro which takes influence from both Dark Souls and Tenchu but is ultimately it's own thing. They made Bloodborne which is closer to Darks Souls than Sekiro is but still has it's own key distinctions. And now they're finally making a new Armored Core again, with more budget than ever so you should be happy about that. They said in interviews that it is in fact an Armored Core game, if they wanted to make "mecha souls" they would've made it a new IP. You guys just want to be angry for no reason.

To be fair, no one got to play Deracine because it's VR

If it's not being made by Miazaki and they aren't changing it to be more like dark souls, then it's probably going to be an above average game, but nothing special.

Worth buying, but not an Elden Ring or Animal Crossing or Hogwarts Legacy.

I expect it to not be shit.
I hope that it's less armored core 5 and more last raven when it comes to gameplay.
I'll give it a try, regardless.

I haven't played any of the games but i'm hoping that the missions will cater to multiple playstyle considering the focus on customizing your mech before your sortie so you can see the fruit of your investment in how you play in the map. Like certain places in the map where you can traverse with tank tracks or huge opening up top if you want to boost or fly, something like that but more intricate and interconnected.

I never got into AC, something about the gameplay just feels shitty. I hope the new one is very different from the others.

No idea, I've never played an armored core game, but it certainly has peaked my interest and I'll check out some of the older ones before the new one. Which ones are must plays?

Silent Line and Last Raven are peak, but they're also the last in their "generation" which means they expect you to have transferred your save file (and skills) over to them from the previous games.
I'd recommend AC3 > SL to start with, just bind the camera controls to the face buttons. If not using stick controls really bothers you, then you can start with Nexus I guess but that game is pretty dogwater and not representative of how good the series can be.
Another recommended starter one is 4A/For Answer, but plays a lot faster than other titles in the series to the point you can barely see anything, even on 1.4 regulations.

I'd just go with the Numbered ones from 1 and if it feels too hard to get into then step up. If you like a numbered one quite a lot you can try the side entry. ACs are kind of like Final Fantasy games: 1, 2, 3 etc will be seperate stories but each will have their own sequels. Games between 1 and 2 are sequels to 1, games between 3 and 4 are sequels to 3 and so on.

If I really had to limit myself I'd go with 3 (ps2) and 4A (ps3). 4A is probably the best among the ps3 ones. 3 is not the best one for ps2 but the better ones like Silent Line and Last Raven are pretty tough and it would be easier to try them out after 3 (you can load files from 3 into the next ones).

        Gotcha, thanks, bros.

I think this game will remind everyone that FromSoftware makes shitty games too. Once they're booting it up expecting a rich world full of deep lore and tight gameplay, they get this sci-fi schlock where you're floating all over the place trying to keep targets within your autoaim radius before the mission timer runs out. It might be FromSofts fall from grace for a lot of clueless normies.
