As a non fighting game player, should I even attempt to play this? Ignoring the shitty grifter fanbase, is the game actually good for non fighter game players?

it's not a good fightan game. it's also the worst in the series.
play sf6 instead. it even has a singleplayer meant for genuine never-touched-a-fightan-game-before noobies.
Are the combo buttons not god awful like they were in every 2010s capcom fighting game?
yes, the input reader is much more lenient and 1 frame links are no longer a thing
buy an ad
No, also the playerbase is only trannies now. Avoid at all costs.
are the input buttons cancerous?
No, a Smash player won EVO for Strive button mashing before the EVO tournament for Strive finished their timeslot.
Depends on what exactly you want from it as a non-fighting game player, if you just want to do singleplayer stuff it's got pretty much nothing to offer, if you just want to play casually online then it's pretty good. The ranked system, while bad for long-term players, does a decent enough job of keeping the casuals with other casuals and the general systems and mechanics are all very straightforward and lenient. Simple combos, simple meter uses, generous input buffer and interpreter, and decent tutorials and training options if you want to put in some effort to get better.
It was my first fighter and while I'm certainly not a fightfag now, it's been pretty enjoyable. You wont get much reasonable opinions/info on it on Ganker because of the whole bridget trans shit. This is prob the best response you'll get:
Strive is fairly decent, i think it's enjoyable until you get to higher levels of play where it becomes a 2 touch game
My favorite Guilty Gear is X
Strive is genuinely a baby game and very easy to learn if you actually bother to do so. Most combos are extremely easy to do and the damage is high. Just make sure to do better than everyone else online and block low. I get so many free setups with Jack-O because the playerbase eats glue.
>because the playerbase eats glue.
>niggas really out here getting hit by lows
Everyone knows us superior CRAYONCHADS are always blocking low so we only get hit by overheads, throws and left-right mixups.
xrd MoM mode is the best content you're gonna get for single player
Nope, play the old one....X?
it`s god for 12 hours then it doesn`t maintain the hype
I used to play in 2011 +- with almost 90 friends, i was the only one who kept playing and eventually i abandoned it
It's just a bad game, simple as. You can safely ignore it forever.
if you're unironically gonna get into fighting games, smashing your balls with a hammer is a cheaper more fun alternative
this game feels wrong
>bland 90s arcade fighter released 25 years too late packed alongside with everything that's wrong with modern games
there's your problem
and the 24 frames shit
It's genuinley not very good. The combos are not fun to perform and the wall break mechanic limits your creativity when combo crafting. If you're interested in interesting and fun combos play Jojo's ASBR.

strive is just a terrible video game and if you want singleplayer or casual content it has nothing for you. if you want to get into anime fighters, xrd has one of the best tutorials for the genre. strive's tutorial isn't even good
>they're all shit
welcome to the genre
>fightanfags hate their own games
can't make this shit up
You're confusing shit players with good players. Shit fighting game players always talk shit about the genre. Same with MOBA fans. Whenever someone who plays a competitive game 40 hours a week and talks shit about it, it just means they're genuinley awful at them.
>Shit fighting game players always talk shit about the genre
so everyone?
