what is that? and you're just talking about the 2 back buttons right?

and no, this thing is moronicly expensive and you've had to be moronic to buy it full price

Normally I’d agree with you about it being too expensive, but the premium quality is there (and after three DualSense dying from stick drift, at least I won’t have to spend for a whole new controller if current sticks die)
      >what is that?
Stick technology. Most controllers currently use badly manufactured potentiometers which is the reason they die so easily. Hall effect sticks instead use magnets, so are way less prone to wear and this drift, plus they are much more precise and allow for a much smaller dead zone without negative sides
      >the two back buttons
The edge has 4 extra buttons actually, the two back ones and two fn on the sticks themselves, which allow for hardware profile switching (though right now you need a PS5 to set the profiles, but the switching works even on pc)

Why would I need back paddles? Normal controller is just fine. I'd literally only use them for like the screenshot button lmao

Depends on the game, if it has some moronic binding they can make your life much easier. Also, you can bind combinations like save states for emulators and so on

I've personally not ever experienced stick drift.
I'm almost certain it's just homosexuals who can't wash their hands properly and crunch the sticks into the sides from sperging out while playing, having no control over the amount of strength they put into tiny plastic contraptions. moronic subhumans.
That said hall effect sticks barely cost more, but obviously they don't put them in because they make a lot of money from people buying multiple controllers instead of one.

Not yet, gulikit is working on them but it'll take time
      >hows the d-pad any improvements?
I already liked the base dualsense's dpad a lot, this one is much better. Buttons are much less mushy and more clicky, and just feel better to use. Not as clicky as the Vita, though

Already using the far superior (with more back buttons) Elite 2. No reason to get this tripe.

      How's that gyro working?

i've been on team dualshock since ps2, the only PC controllers i've used are DS3 and DS4. Everything else feels like handling a frisbee. Xbox controllers are shaped like a fricking turnip

Same, I tried the 360 controller once and it was absolutely horrible

Is there different analog? I like the ps3 analog

You get high and low dome caps other than the standard ones, so yeah, you can simply remove the ones it comes with and put your favorite ones

    >Left analog stick still in a moronic uncomfortable position

Lmao frick no it won’t. I own a DualSense and an Xbox controller and I still opt for the Xbox controller even in games that have great haptic feedback because that moronic ass left analog stick hanging out down in no man’s land and the d-pad where the analog stick should be makes games too uncomfortable to play. I’m not going to sacrifice comfort gaming just to get better rumble.

Are you one of those console kids who plays first person shooters on the PC with a controller or something? The face buttons are appropriately placed in the primary thumb position on the right side of the Xbox controller because they’re used more frequently in every type of video game other than first person shooters. And every PC gamer should be using the mouse and keyboard for first person shooters, rendering the issue controllers have with that genre entirely moot.

Sounds like another way to wreck your controller.
Even being extremely careful with my DS, using it on USBC over the last year and change has left me with a pretty loose port that will probably fail on me if I continue using it while plugged in. I have since switched to exclusively gaming on wireless and charging it in a stationary place when it's dead.

Man, I got a PS5 last week after trying a Series S at first, playing the same games with a DS5 feels like fricking a high school girlfriend years later once she became a supermodel. Obvious I can’t speak to the durability which I’ve not heard great things about, but holy shit is it worlds better than the Series controller. More responsive, deeper triggers (a must for me as I mostly place racing games and GTA) and the haptic stuff is very cool when I’m in the mood for it. If the new pro version proved to be worth it and stands the test of time, I’ll definitely give it a shot in a year or two. It really does feel like returning to something I’m familiar with, but it being significantly better than I remember, if that makes sense.

I’m glad I got the SS though, Sonys backward compatibility stinks and I need something to play GTA IV, Max Payne 3 and RDR1 on. Well worth the $300.
