nta, but it goes on forever there's always another twist, banger music in half the areas, actual emotional attachment to some of the characters and events, plenty of autism in scale balancing and ability equipping, plenty of different equipment to use, some of the designs are neat
it's just a good game, guy spent something like 15 years making it apparently so its full to the brim with passion and soul, although i hear the translation changed things more than i'd want

It's a hack n slash game that was honed for 15 years. The combat is fluent and gets added mechanics thorough the game. There are companions and magical summon skills.

There are plenty of rpg mechanics. Wear equipment long enough and you get rewarded with a master skill. Use possession skills, get rewarded. There's a skill tree that is almost its own dungeon crawl minigame. You can cook and craft. Every item has external karma and stat mechanics you can use from chapter 2 onwards in addition to their initial use. I think these are the main draw, there's barely any this thought out AA or AAA rpgs on market.

Characters are fun, the story is good. I love time travel shenanigans so I'm sucker for plots like these.

The dev simply went bit further than the competitors and honed the game for 15 years. It's worth checking out.

      >the story don't seem interesting
Starts like that but very small details later turn into huge plot points. The NG+ is actually another half of the game. Its huge and the plot is a huge and a wild ride from demon castle onwards.
      >and the combat is just beating slimes
Yeah, early monsters kinda suck but the bosses and later monster are pretty diverse and the combat has lots of options and cool abilities

      >also too much fricking text, what is the appeal
      Well, its a JRPG.

    PalLibra...
    This game, man.

I barely thought it would live up to the hype, let alone exceed it. I've been playing for twelve hours straight across only about five islands, and it has been absolutely and utterly humbling. My breath is being taken away at every turn.

I just drowned trying desperately to make my way out of a dark underwater cave on a cold, lonely, massive island, with ominous growling startling me from far across some rocky, eroded mountains against the backdrop of a massive dark blue sky. Earlier I was marveling at a herd of grazing antelope-like PaIs on a little yellow paradise of an island with a pink sky. PaIs were screeching in the distance and tinkling piano chords played in the background.

I very much appreciate the technical and leveling aspects such as taming and trading, but most of all, this game has been an extremely emotional experience for me so far. I could barely pull myself away from my first base once it reached level 10. No matter what I'm looking at, I have this excitement and this wonder and frustration that I am inevitably missing so much. I have never, EVER felt this lost. PaIworId just beckons, wordlessly. What a beautiful, beautiful, titanic game. I have no words.

Enjoy, everyone. And thank you, Mizobe and Pocketpalr. Jeez Louise.

It's honestly like the dev watched a couple hundred anime, took the most generic parts of them and included nothing but them. I was amazed at how generic you can make your dialogue, to the point that you know exactly how each conversation will play out. I wouldn't be surprised if the dev said that he hasn't interacted with real people and he learned how people talk from manga/anime.
