They always say its good for consumers, but then after pocketing the money the key members that sold the company leave the studio and form a new studio. It's just business.
The System Shock remake is basically done at this point. I imagine they sold out because they knew they could never again do a kickstarter for future projects after mishandling the SS1 remake so badly, and needed to find funding elsewhere.
SS1 remake wasn't "mishandled", the SS1 remake WAS the scam, it was pitched as a remake but as soon as the kickstarter ended they spent like an entire year trying to sell out to publishers as a "reboot" but nobody showed interest, so they had no choice but to honor the kickstarter
It was pitched as a remaster, a remake and a reboot, all at the same time. Nightdive used the terms interchangeably so I'm not surprised people got confused as to what they were funding.
When they started openly calling it a reboot I knew to stay away though.
>not only will we be doing as much as we ever did, we will be doing more of it
They are going to release games doubly as behind on schedule? What a fucking POS studio Atari is wasting what little money they have.
I was dumb enough to give to the kickstarter because I thought the demo was alright and I like the original. I chose the ps4 version because my PC was shit at the time.
now they aren't doing a console release, but I cannot get in touch with anyone from their kickstarter, backerkit, or nightdive to change my digital copy to PC. I think they might not send anything at this point. they brazenly do not give a fuck about backers at this point.
The game is already finished, gone gold and coming out on the 30th this month.
If only it was 2016 I might give enough of a shit to try it
They always pull a delay like 2 weeks before the scheduled date so expect one in a day or two
Does Atari do anything? I'm being serious, how do they make money?
by being in business
>the current Atari focus is pursuing several lines of business outside of video gaming, including cryptocurrency and video-game themed hotels.
Dang
By milking nostalgic boomers.
>PCg*mer
have a nice day

>we'll be doing more of it
the system shock remake took them 7 whole years. what is this guy talking about.
He's talking about the remasters they make you dope.
>system shock 2 remaster still in production after 4 years
>admitted VR probably wouldn't be a launch feature
The same atari that won't let nightdive patch blood. Lol
RiP Nightdive
Anybody doing business with Atari ends up fucked

Get the remake instead. Enhanced edition is pretty much obsolete now.
Do NOT do this.
Why should someone ruin their first impression of a game by playing an objectively worse version of it?
>no turok 3
Fug
Atari isn't even a zombie of itself anymore, it's like a zombie of a reincarnation of itself, there's nothing left of what it was
It is resurrected undead like a lich king
They already used AI art. It's over.

> company who wanted to sell you something assures you they still want to sell you something after they got bought out ny shitty management.
What even is Atari right now, it's been like 4-5 things in the past and then the brand gets sold off when they go bankrupt again
Atari exists in name only and that name is so fucking forgotten who even remembers anything Ataris name is attached to besides grandpas on Ganker

Which is what, nothing? The System Shock remake is literal vaporware.
it's out next week
I'll believe that when I see it.
No it's not. What the fuck? Why would you even lie about that?
Let's fucking GOOOOOOOOOOO
I guess that explains why MVG (developer who is also a YouTuber) left the company.
should I get system shock enhanced edition?
It always sells for like 50 cents doesn't it
sure
it's a reasonable way to play the game
