The english version of the game is only meant for regions somewhat adjacent to japan. So you connect to somewhere in the SEA region, china, russia, etc and not japan or anywhere more western.
Which is why tunnelbear is recommended because it has a Singapore node and it just works.

Anyone have the best types of builds for the VV Arena mode? I'm assuming they'd be different from the standard builds against random NPC teams, since some advanced players seem to like using abilities that suck the other team's stamina.
It's probably the same kind of builds you'd see during ranking events that boost the tension gauge + skills or bromides that reduce POW/TEC/STM.

The JP version is available on DMM and Steam. Should not require a VPN
The english version is available on Steam and Johren. Both eng versions need a VPN for the initial setup, and then you should never need it after that. Unless Johren does something fucky that is, but for the Steam version it's one and done.

If you want to make a burner steam account for it then nothing is stopping you. Just log out of your normal steam account and juggle between the two as needed.

Well...that got me nowhere, it seems to impossible to get the models, be it via ps2 emulator or the xbox, the links in the forums are long dead, if anyone knows where i can find them, please tell me.
I'm almost to 10mil and the last worthwhile prize (red ticket). I'm not going to be able to place in the Arena with the whales holding all the top spots. They really shouldn't have let this rewards tree go for two weeks.
Now that they've re-instated the arena scores i'm hovering around the 3k rank range. I've accepted that this is the best it's going to get until I can get some TEC ex lotions from pool hopping, but I've yet to get a single one.
Meanwhile I have 7 POW ex and 5 STM. Them putting the TEC course at the end of pool hopping is a crime tbh.

And that's only for one version of the game with massive timezone differences in playerbase. Those numbers are great and you're delusional to think otherwise.
I wouldn't call them great but considering the damn game operates on the budget of a couple shoelaces and 3 instant ramen cups per week, the profits must be disproportionately high.
Man I wish some multiplayer games I play on steam could get 5-7k people each week tbh.
It's seriously not that many compared to mobile gachashit, but doing that comparison's kinda cheating by itself since genshit alone came to completely destroy the average normalfag's perception of what a "successful" gacha is, and it goes in hand with trash like FGO and similar big shitters.
When seen from that perspective anything below 10k players is kind of a joke, but like I said between VV's budget being crumbs and it having an oddly small but dedicated community whatever costs they have to run the operation are far outweighed by the ridiculous gem prices they have and the (relative) handful of gigawhales they have. I'd bet most of their budget is pissed away on the VAs and the suHispaniciously high quality OST.
